## Analysis: Thank You to Shawn Steel (July 3, 2017)

A brief, formulaic thank-you post acknowledging favorable media coverage on Fox News. This is a low-intensity, routine supply-maintenance post with minimal psychological content to analyze.

**Timing:** 4:44 PM EDT (Trump was President, likely in D.C./NJ area ahead of July 4th). Business hours posting.

**Context:** This post sits amid a busy day of tweeting about foreign policy calls, Charlie Gard, and attacks on "Fake News." The thank-you to Shawn Steel (California Republican National Committeeman) for positive Fox News commentary is a routine validation-acknowledgment post.

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**Post-Wrestling-Video Defiance Gives Way to a Controlled July 4th Eve of Presidential Posturing**

The day after posting his infamous CNN wrestling body-slam video, Trump shifted from defiance to a controlled display of presidential activity. He opened with a combative jab at the "dishonest media," then spent the morning announcing calls with Germany, France, Italy, and Saudi Arabia — projecting global stature. The afternoon pivoted to economic cheerleading, touting jobs numbers and a Dow record high while weaving in digs at "Fake News" for not covering his wins. A quiet, mostly disciplined day by his standards, with the wrestling controversy simmering beneath a veneer of normalcy.
