## What the media says

**Video transcript** (reposted clip, 1:00), transcribed automatically, so names and numbers may be wrong. Speakers aren't identified, so a voice in it may not be his:

> He's acting like he's on the ballot. He is campaigning so hard. He has not stopped. And that is something that I think when all of this is said and done, when his term is over, we're gonna miss what a hardworking president looks like, 'cause I don't think we'll ever see anyone work as hard as that man. - But you know, obviously the headwinds are very much going against Republicans just because of the nature of politics. It's the second midterm for a sitting president. That's always a very difficult time. But the big picture, sort of historical moment here is, you know, 20 years ago, Democrats were romping in states like Michigan by double digit points. Donald Trump walks in and takes all of these states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, puts them back into play, and then wins them. And what's significant about that is what was the Democrat response to it? You would think the Democrat response to that would be to moderate and become, and try to get those working class voters back to their side of the aisle, but that's not what they did. They took off and went crazy.
