## What the media says

**Video transcript** (3:00), transcribed automatically, so names and numbers may be wrong. Speakers aren't identified, so a voice in it may not be his:

> And, in other news, a Fox News poll conducted in September 2026 shows that 4% of registered voters identify Iran/war as the most important issue facing the country. And of course, as with most things in the US, it's being weaponised against Trump. They're using it to demonstrate as evidence that people don't support this action or that Trump got it wrong when he made that decision. It is the complete opposite. So sorry to have to point out the bleeding obvious. This actually helps the Trump administration. Do you want to know why? Can you imagine if Trump had enacted, if he had done what every president prior to him had done, which is to make this the next person's problem, his children's problem? It would be something like 98% of Americans see this war as the top issue. They see Iran as the top threat. But they don't have to. Because Trump acted. He eliminated the threat. They were days away from being able to build a nuclear weapon. They killed tens of thousands of their own people with guns, their own people. And what they could do to a country like America with a nuclear weapon. So this is actually a great poll for Trump and his administration. What this says is, "Hey America, you don't have to have Iran as the top of your list of worries because I dealt with it. I sorted it. I got rid of the threat." If he hadn't have gotten rid of the threat, people in America would be living in fear right now from a nuclear attack. I'm so sorry, this actually speaks volumes. This is the gift. This is the job of a president to take care of this stuff. So everyday Americans don't have to stay awake at night thinking about Iran and what it's going to do with a nuclear weapon. So isn't this wonderful, a wonderful testament to what Trump did? Is the fact that Americans don't have to have the Islamic regime of Iran as the top thing they're worried about right now. That backs up what he did, not the opposite. It's evidence for the action to eliminate the threat, not evidence that it should never have occurred. It's very obvious to me, it should be to you too. As president of the most extraordinary nation in history, I have no interest in leaving dangers to grow for another day. I do not believe in letting problems fester. They only become harder to solve. So while others have talked, I have acted. While others have spoken of peace, I have made peace. While others have ignored threats, I have confronted them.

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-09-29T12:41:20.672Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## A friendly clip, one day after the media attacks

The whole post is five words and a signature, "From a great journalist! President DJT", attached to a video with no transcript or description available. What the clip says, who the journalist is, and whether the segment concerns Iran, the Xi summit, or Trump personally cannot be recovered from the text. The reading below is limited to the caption, the signature, and where the post falls in the sequence.

That sequence carries most of the information. On September 28 the account went after three media targets in a row: Bill Maher ("ratings are so low that it is hard to believe his show can continue"), Joe Scarborough ("will soon be 'dead!'... REALLY BAD RATINGS, just like the rest of MSNOW (MSDNC!)"), and Axios, whose Iran sanctions-relief story was called "a HOAX, used only for purposes of satisfying their Trump Derangement Syndrome." The next morning's post turns to praise. It names no journalist and gives no reason beyond approval of whatever the video says. The account is dividing the press into those who flatter him and those who "should withdraw this fake story." The label "great" is assigned on the basis of agreement, which is the idealization half of the splitting pattern that produced "HOAX" and "dead" the day before. Confidence in that reading is medium, since the video's content is unknown.

## Amplification as supply-seeking

The trigger looks like supply-seeking rather than injury. Nothing in the caption answers a slight. The post passes along outside validation, which lets praise of Trump arrive in someone else's voice. The recent background makes the need for that plausible: record-low approval polling, the court order restoring CNN, MS NOW and Politico access to the White House, SNL's September 27 mockery, and boos at Medinah two days earlier. The post contains no grievance of its own. The grandiose register ("great") belongs to the endorsed journalist, and Trump only affirms it.

At the trait level, the one visible behavior is assertive endorsement, meaning Extraversion's assertiveness facet. Low Agreeableness shows only through contrast with the prior day's posts. Agency motives dominate: status is maintained by showing that credible voices side with him. Nothing here expresses communion beyond loyalty to allies.

## Who wrote it

The post went up at 12:30 UTC, 8:30 a.m. Eastern, most likely from Washington: the Xi state visit ended days earlier and the Presidents Cup trip was a same-day return on the 27th. That hour sits at the edge of his known early-morning posting window and is also when staff are working. The signature "President DJT" matches the sign-off on his own September 28 Scarborough post, and "President DONALD J. TRUMP" closed the Axios post. That signing habit has recently shown up on posts that read as personally dictated. The fragmentary caption with an exclamation point fits his video-sharing captions. Nothing here is polished enough to point to an aide, and nothing is disorganized enough to prove he wrote it. Sharing a video with a brief caption is a task staff often handle for him, which lowers confidence.

## What the text allows

The caption makes no verifiable factual claim; "great journalist" is an evaluation. The earlier "hSenate" typo in the college sports post is keyboard noise and suggests no language change. Five words give no basis for judging cognition. The post names no target and implies no action, so nothing in it bears on danger. If the video repeats a specific claim (for example, about the Iran talks or the Axios story), the fact-check would belong to that claim, and it would need the transcript.

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**Victory in the "Battle of Hormuz" arrives as a screenshot of someone else's tweet**

A calm, upbeat day at the White House, with no insults and no one at home singled out for blame. Late Monday night he cheered a Senate vote on a college sports bill and shared a poll clip saying his base hasn't budged. On Tuesday he posted the seating chart for a White House lunch on "super intelligence" and, late in the day, the text of an AI safety accord, both without a word of comment. In between, he declared that Iran "has lost control of the Strait" by passing along other people's posts announcing a U.S. win in a "Battle of Hormuz." Most of the day was pictures, clips and screenshots, and the government funding deadline due the next day went unmentioned.
