## What the media says

**Video transcript** (4:38), transcribed automatically, so names and numbers may be wrong. Speakers aren't identified, so a voice in it may not be his:

> here with more reaction, Trump administration borders are Tom Holman. I don't have words, Tom. I know you've been here. You have spoken to parents like this. We both know Lake and Riley's family. You know, we've spoken to them and Rachel Moran and our mother, the mother of five, 12 year old Jocelyn Nungar. Look at these parents. They're broken. Like any other parent is broken, unnecessarily, most preventable. A parent's worst nightmare, bury the children. And you're right, I've met hundreds of angel moms and dads. And I actually had lunch with Lake and Riley's parents Tuesday. Their lives are shattered. They're broken. And what they're angry because they keep seeing that happening. Another angel mom, another angel mom, another angel mom. And that is the message we need to get out to the American voters. The other party who was complicit in opening that border brought up to 15 million illegal aliens in this country. Biggest national security blunder ever. That's the same party that now wants to abolish ICE, abolish the agency that is in charge of fighting these criminals and deporting them. If this, if they succeed in what they're trying to do, the border will be at war because every, every illegal alien in the world that wants to come to the United States, it's going to come because they know if they can get by the border patrol, they're home free. Anybody that comes on a visa, they'll overstay it because no one's looking for them. And the worst thing about it, the less ICE agents on the street, the more angel moms and dads are going to be coming. And that's why this is important that we support President Trump. Look, President Trump is the greatest president in my lifetime. I say it all the time, based on facts and data. He took out of secure border, historic invasion, where up to 15 million people crossed border, 200,000 illegal aliens a month came across that border. And when the six weeks he gave us the most secure border in my lifetime in 16 months, that would have been 3 million illegal aliens crossing our border under Biden. President Trump in 16 months, zero. That's one of the reasons why he's the greatest president in history. We got to keep supporting him. ICE is making record arrests, record deportations. President Trump made promises, promises made, promises kept. And that's what he's doing every day. And we got to make sure that we stay, we're hitting all similar right now. Everything's happening great. We got to maintain power to finish the job. For your hard work and your agents' hard work, you have been doxxed, you have been attacked, in some cases victims of violence, threatened. And what I love about you, and we are friends, is you are unrelenting because you know that this was the most preventable national security disaster ever. And you met too many people like Elizabeth and Dennis that we just had on, or Rachel Morin's mom, or Jocelyn Nungary's mom, or Blake and Riley's family. You know, they wouldn't even stand for them in the president's first speech when he got reelected. They lost their soul as far as I'm concerned. You know, Sean, when I've been asked many times, you know, I'm 65 years old, right? But I've been asked many times, why are you going back again? I came out of retirement twice with President Trump. I truly believe he's the greatest president in my lifetime. He's going to fix this. And he has fixed it. But the one number one reason I came back twice is because of people like Mr. and Mrs. Carter, and people like Blake and Riley's parents. It's sickening. I'm a parent. My worst nightmare is bearing a child. I come back to fight for them. I come back to try to bring some justice to these people and force Congress to outlaw sanctuary cities and stop the death of US citizen children. So that's the number one reason I came back. When President Trump asked me, I didn't hesitate because angel moms and dads are living here forever. I've met hundreds of them. I remember every one of their stories, and it breaks your heart. You know, we played Gavin Newsome bragging. He gives, he rewards people that don't respect our laws, borders, sovereignty, gives them free health care. And this guy got his license. What say you tonight, Gavin, or Joe Biden, or Kamala, or Alejandro Mayorkas? Far as I'm concerned, Tom, they have blood on their hands, period. And you are a hero, and you're saving lives. Thank you for coming out of retirement. Thank you for being with us.

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-09-18T02:35:42.140Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## A Fox segment that turns bereaved parents into a midterm argument

The post has no words of its own. It is a clip from Sean Hannity's show in which Tom Homan, the administration's border czar, reacts to bereaved parents who had just appeared on air ("Elizabeth and Dennis that we just had on"). The clip has a clear order. It opens on grief: "Look at these parents. They're broken." It names the Laken Riley, Rachel Morin and Jocelyn Nungaray families (the transcript garbles these as "Lake and Riley" and "Nungar"). Then it turns: "that is the message we need to get out to the American voters." Next comes blame of the opposing party, "complicit in opening that border", and the charge that it "now wants to abolish ICE". The last part praises Trump at length: "the greatest president in my lifetime," "the greatest president in history," "promises made, promises kept." It ends on "We got to maintain power to finish the job."

Trump reposted all of this without comment. The clip gives him three things six weeks before the midterms: named child victims, a charge against Democrats, and top-rank praise, spoken by a man he appointed on a friendly network. The admiration goes in a closed loop. His own official praises him, and he passes that praise on to his audience. This is the supply-seeking part of the post. The grief comes first and makes the praise that follows harder to question.

## Timing and the evening viewing session

The post went up at 02:19 UTC, 10:19 pm Eastern on September 17. By then he was back in the U.S. after the Ireland trip earlier in the month. The same evening he posted that Andrew Ferguson "was FANTASTIC tonight on FoxNews" and thanked Charlie Hurt for the interview. That places this repost in a live Fox-viewing session, reposting segments in which his own officials appear. The late hour and the pattern of reacting to TV point to his own hand choosing the clip. Nothing in the post shows who pressed the button.

## Splitting and devaluation carried by the clip

The clip sorts the world into two sides. The other party is "complicit," and Trump is the one who "is going to fix this. And he has fixed it." Democrats are condemned morally for not standing for victims' families at the 2025 joint address: "They lost their soul as far as I'm concerned." The idealization comes by proxy. "Greatest president in history" is backed by "facts and data" that the speaker cites loosely. Homan's own account of himself, "I came out of retirement twice with President Trump", makes loyalty sound like a moral calling. That also flatters the man who gave the orders.

## What the clip claims on his behalf

The figures are Homan's, so they are not scored as Trump's statements, but reposting them passes them along. "Up to 15 million illegal aliens" has no official source. Southwest border encounter counts for 2021 to 2024 include repeat crossers and people who were removed. Estimates of net unauthorized arrivals are well below that number. "President Trump in 16 months, zero" runs together two things. One is the administration's reported figure of zero Border Patrol releases into the interior. The other is crossings, and apprehensions, while historically low, have continued monthly. "200,000 illegal aliens a month" matches only the peak months of 2022 to 2023. It was not the average. The claim that "the same party ... now wants to abolish ICE" takes a slogan some Democrats use and treats it as the whole party's position.

## Where the rhetoric bears on risk

The clip moves from particular killings to the whole population. It says "every illegal alien in the world" will come, and "the less ICE agents on the street, the more angel moms and dads are going to be coming." That ties the death of children to an out-group and to a political party. The clip also presents enforcement as under siege: agents "have been doxxed, you have been attacked, in some cases victims of violence." The only action it asks for is electoral: "we support President Trump," "maintain power." Nobody is told to act against anyone. What raises the danger rating is that it recasts a whole population and a party as the cause of children's deaths, during a campaign.

## Archetype and positioning

The clip casts Trump as savior and restorer of order. The parents are the wronged, and the opposing party plays the Shadow, blamed for the chaos at the border. Order goes to the "angel moms and dads" and to the agents. Blame goes to the party that "brought up" the migrants and to "criminals."

## Language

All the speech in the clip is Homan's and Hannity's. Its repetitions ("Another angel mom, another angel mom, another angel mom") and speech-to-text errors say nothing about the subject's own language. The only behavior of his that can be scored is his choice of what to repost and when.

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**CNN, MSNOW and Politico banned from the White House "effective immediately," with "Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow"**

Trump spent Thursday night posting Fox News clips of other people praising him, including a historian who ranked him behind only Washington and Lincoln. Just after midnight he threatened whoever leaked his advisers' warnings about the Iran conflict: "When we find you, you will pay a big price." On Friday afternoon his account put out fifteen identical endorsements in about twenty minutes, and several carried campaign videos with harsh personal attacks on Democrats, including one tying a Muslim-American Senate candidate in Michigan to Hamas and 9/11. Soon after, he banned CNN, MSNOW and Politico from the White House, said more outlets would follow, and posted a fan video of a lion that has to "show the jackals who he is." The evening turned to celebration, with a Greenland security deal he called "a dream come true" and a list of accomplishments from what he called his "Term Three."
