> In the Middle East, U.S. forces delivering a powerful response to the latest act of Iranian aggression, the military taking out five oil tankers in response to an attempted attack on U.S. warships. Steve Harrigan is live in Tel Aviv with the latest. Hey, Steve. Ainsley, Iranian forces continue to try and fail to take out U.S. military ships in the region, and they are paying a heavy price for doing so. CENTCOM just posted no U.S. Navy warship has been struck. All IRGC attempted attacks failed. Meanwhile, U.S. forces have successfully destroyed 10 Iranian tankers in just the last week. These vessels were part of a multi-billion dollar shadow network that funds the IRGC, and Iran cannot defend them. Now, right after the U.S. destroyed those five Iranian tankers, Iran tried once again to hit U.S. forces inside of Jordan. They launched a ballistic missile attack. Jordan says 18 of those missiles were intercepted. Two of them fell harmlessly in an uninhabited area. And as all this goes on, the U.S. blockade of all Iranian ports continues. No Iranian oil has gotten the market through that blockade all the way back to mid-July. Ainsley, back to you. Okay, good deal. Thank you so much, Steve. And reported strikes near Iran's largest oil terminal in Karg Island might prove to be a tipping point in the war as the key hub processes 90 percent of the regime's oil exports, nearly 100 million barrels a year. So what could this mean for the oil markets and gas prices? Fox Business contributor and oil trader Phil Flynn joins us now. Phil, what could this mean for America? Well, hopefully it means that the spike in prices which hit the highest level since the war is nearing an end. And we know this is very strategic for the Trump administration in this war because we basically hit Iran's cash register. You know, when you talk about Karg Island, this is where they get their money. So not only is this sending a message to them to end the war quickly, it's also showing how they can't really respond. And when you look at people in Iran, they're struggling right now. You know, when it takes two million reals to get one dollar, you know, the economic pain is really starting to to squeeze them. Yeah, there are reports now that the IRGC has been called up to stop all the unrest in grocery stores and in banks. And there was an article in the New York Post a month ago, August 6, that talked about Iranians stealing bread and cheese and meats and butters and cakes. And then reports this week that some people, some experts don't think the regime will even make it to the midterms because we're thinking they might hold out to the midterms. Are they going to be able to last? I doubt it. You know, I'm amazed they've lasted this long. You know, the only way they've stayed in power is by brute force, right? Anytime people complain, they rise up, they kill them. And that's a sad part of the story, you know, but it's, you know, Treasury Secretary Bassen said, you know, this is going to end, you know, when the people that are, you know, rising up against their own people say, no, we're not going to kill our own people. It's time for the regime to go. And that's going to be like the fall of the Berlin Wall. And we hopefully that will happen soon. Yeah. I know you're an oil expert. You talked about some of the gas prices last year. They were 319 last month, 401, and now they're 422. Will this help us become more energy independent? It sure has. I mean, we are the energy supplier to the world right now. We're keeping Europe's lights on. You know, we're exporting a record amount of diesel. So this is going to be transformational. You're going to see the end of OPEC as we know it. The United States is now going to be much more powerful than OPEC with Venezuela and you name it. And, you know, we've been talking a lot about Iran, you know, getting a peace deal with Russian Ukraine or ceasefire, that's going to bring down diesel prices because, you know, we keep talking about Iran, but the attacks on the Russian refiners are another reason why these prices are so high. So if the president were watching right now, is there anything you would do differently? Is there anything you would tell him advice for that area for Iran? Keep up the pressure, you know, they're going to give. And I'll tell you what, he's done an amazing job. People don't give him enough credit for how he's kept gasoline prices under control. Yes, I know they're high. I know they're at their highest level. They've been at Labor Day. But, you know, people were saying we should have been at $10 a gallon, you know, or $15 a gallon. None of that's happened. I think we're very close to the peak. Let's hope I'm right and I'm sure the president believes I'm right. You were great. Thanks so much, Phil.

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-09-09T14:15:06.990Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Summary

Routine grandiose-maintenance post: a Fox morning-show segment on the US–Iran tanker war and oil markets, framed with credential inflation ('one of the World's Great Oil and Energy Analysts'), an imperative endorsement ('A MUST SEE!'), and his characteristic self-signature. Authorship is authentic with high confidence — the signature block, decorative scare quotes, superlative formula, and real-time TV reaction are all documented personal markers; the daytime timestamp is explained by the segment's live air time rather than indicating aide drafting. State is grandiose, stable, low-arousal, with an atypical absence of paranoid or grievance content relative to baseline. The governing structure is validation laundering: rather than claiming his own strategy is working, he elevates an outside analyst who says so and then annexes that authority by signing his name. Defenses are idealization (contingent on favorability), rationalization, and denial-by-omission. He amplifies without apparent notice a segment that recites gasoline prices climbing $3.19 to $4.22 while calling the situation transformational, and that presents Iranian civilian food scarcity and currency collapse as welcome evidence of pressure. Sadism registers as vicarious and mediated — the endorsement stamp, not authored cruelty. Danger is elevated rather than high: no domestic target, no identified individual, no mobilization call, but a head of state amplifying regime-collapse triumphalism during an active conflict, on the morning he opened a midterm convention, in a clip explicitly tying the regime's survival to the midterm calendar. Not clinically significant in isolation.

## Multi-Level Personality Analysis

**Post type:** Media amplification with editorial framing. Twenty-six words of original text wrapped around a Fox News (morning-show) segment featuring oil analyst Phil Flynn.

---

### Authorship Attribution

**Assessment: Authentic Trump (score 0.85, confidence high).**

Timestamp 13:41 UTC on 2026-09-09. Trump was in Dallas headlining the opening night of the first-ever GOP midterm convention — Central Time places this at **08:41 CT**, or 09:41 ET if the post was queued from an East Coast device. Nominally "business hours," which in isolation would weakly favor aide authorship. Every other marker points the opposite way:

- **The signature block.** `President DONALD J. TRUMP` appended to a post that is already on his own account is a long-documented idiosyncratic tic — self-attribution as a form of self-authentication. Aides do not append this; it is redundant to the point of absurdity and only makes sense as an expressive act.
- **Scare-quoted honorific.** `"Words of Wisdom"` — the decorative quotation marks around a phrase that requires none is a persistent Trump orthographic habit.
- **Superlative inflation with vague quantifier.** `one of the World's Great Oil and Energy Analysts` — the "one of the world's greatest X" construction, capitalized mid-sentence, applied to a cable-business contributor. Aide-written copy would identify Flynn by outlet and credential; Trump grades on a curve of "did this person say something nice about me."
- **`A MUST SEE!`** — the all-caps imperative endorsement is a signature retweet-substitute formula.
- **Real-time TV reaction.** The clip is a live morning-show hit (Ainsley Earhardt hosting, Steve Harrigan in Tel Aviv). Posting it within the broadcast window is consistent with the decades-stable pattern of narrating television consumption to the audience.
- **Idiosyncratic capitalization** (`World's Great`, `MUST SEE`) with otherwise clean spelling. Absence of typos is not disconfirming — short formulaic posts are his cleanest register.

The one aide-leaning signal (daytime timing) is fully explained by the segment's air time. Confidence high.

### Level 1 — Dispositional Traits

- **Extraversion (high):** exclamatory imperative to the audience; broadcast-oriented positive affect.
- **Agreeableness (very low, modesty facet):** the entire communicative purpose is to route third-party validation to himself; the signature converts an analyst's commentary into a personal endorsement.
- **Conscientiousness (low-moderate):** no deliberation, no verification, no engagement with the content's internal contradictions (see below); pure impulse-forward amplification.
- **Neuroticism (low in this instance):** no angry hostility, no wounded register. This is a comfortable, expansive post.
- **Openness (low):** closed information loop — Fox segment in, Truth Social post out, no external referent.

### Level 2 — Characteristic Adaptations

The governing motive is **agency-saturated**: the clip credits "the Trump administration" with a strategy that "hit Iran's cash register," and Flynn frames it as deliberate, effective, and about to produce regime collapse. Communion motives are functionally absent — the suffering populations described (Iranians "stealing bread and cheese and meats and butters") appear in the amplified content as an *index of leverage*, not as a humanitarian consideration, and Trump's framing does nothing to modulate that.

Schema content: *self* as strategic mastermind whose competence is confirmed by outside experts; *others* as either validators or targets; *world* as a scoreboard on which pressure produces capitulation.

Note the **supply-laundering structure** common to this post class: praise is more usable when it appears to originate elsewhere. He does not say "my strategy is working"; he says an analyst said so, and signs his name to it. The signature collapses the distinction — the borrowed authority is annexed.

### Level 3 — Narrative Identity

- **Protagonist role:** wartime strategist / energy liberator. "We are the energy supplier to the world," "the end of OPEC as we know it."
- **Contrasting other:** the Iranian regime, and secondarily OPEC — external adversaries whose weakening validates him.
- **Narrative sequence: redemption.** Dependence → dominance; war → imminent collapse of the enemy → "like the fall of the Berlin Wall." The clip supplies a triumphal arc and he ratifies it.
- **Identity claim:** implicit — *I am the one whose pressure campaign is working, and the experts confirm it.*

Contextually notable: he posted this on the morning he opened a **midterm** convention, amplifying a segment that explicitly ties the Iranian regime's survival to the midterm calendar ("some experts don't think the regime will even make it to the midterms"). The selection fuses foreign-policy triumph to electoral timing.

### Level 4 — Clinical Indicators

**State: grandiose**, stable, low-arousal. No injury signature, no rage, no persecutory content. This is **maintenance/supply-seeking** rather than reactive.

- **Narcissistic features (moderate-high, ~0.6):** grandiosity by proxy; superlative inflation; the compulsive self-signature; treating expert commentary as personal tribute.
- **Antisocial features (low-moderate, ~0.3):** indifference to the civilian-harm content he is amplifying; no remorse register anywhere in the framing.
- **Paranoid features (low, ~0.15):** essentially absent from this post — unusual relative to his baseline and worth logging.
- **Ego-syntonic sadism (low-moderate, ~0.4):** the amplified segment presents Iranian civilians' food scarcity and currency collapse as good news ("the economic pain is really starting to squeeze them"), and he labels the whole package "Words of Wisdom" and "A MUST SEE!" The enjoyment is vicarious and mediated, not personally voiced — but the editorial act of stamping it MUST SEE is the behavior under analysis.

**Defenses:** idealization (Flynn elevated to world-class status on the strength of favorable commentary), rationalization (civilian hardship reframed as strategic progress), and mild denial-by-omission regarding the price data embedded in his own clip.

---

### Rhetorical & Propaganda Analysis

- **Appeal to (manufactured) authority** — the load-bearing device. Flynn's credibility is inflated in the framing precisely because his conclusions are flattering.
- **Superlative/hyperbole** — "one of the World's Great."
- **Imperative urgency** — "A MUST SEE!"
- **Bandwagon/consensus construction** — the audience is told experts agree.
- **Firehose contribution** — one of at least six posts on this date; volume itself is the technique.

**An internal contradiction he amplifies without apparent notice:** the host recites gasoline prices climbing $3.19 → $4.01 → $4.22 and then asks whether this will make America "more energy independent," to which Flynn answers "It sure has." A near-33% consumer price increase is thereby rebranded as evidence of success. This is a textbook reframe, and Trump's endorsement of the clip as "Words of Wisdom" ratifies it. That reframe belongs to the broadcast, not to him — but the selection is his.

Per instruction, the transcript's factual assertions (five/ten tankers destroyed, 18 missiles intercepted over Jordan, blockade since mid-July, Kharg Island at 90% of exports) are **broadcast claims, not his statements**, and are not entered as his fact-checks. His own assertion — that Flynn is among the world's great analysts — is unfalsifiable puffery.

### Danger Assessment

**Elevated, not high.** No domestic target, no identified individual, no call to mobilization, no eliminationist language in his own words. However, the amplified content (a) presents civilian food scarcity and currency collapse as desirable pressure, (b) endorses regime collapse as an imminent and welcome outcome, and (c) ties that outcome to a US electoral deadline. Amplification of foreign-regime-collapse triumphalism from a head of state during an active shooting conflict carries escalation risk distinct from stochastic-terrorism risk. Logged as elevated on that basis alone.

### Cognitive Status

No markers. The text is short, syntactically simple, and formulaic — a register in which cognitive signal is minimal. Complexity is low but *appropriately* low for the genre; this is not deviation. **Not usable as a longitudinal data point** for cognitive tracking. Longitudinal value here is behavioral (amplification pattern, self-signature frequency), not linguistic.

### Baseline Comparison

Sits squarely within the modal "endorse-a-favorable-clip" template. The notable absences relative to baseline are grievance content and paranoid ideation — this is one of the calmer, more purely self-congratulatory forms his posting takes. Consistent with an expansive, well-supplied state on a day he was headlining a friendly convention.

**Not clinically significant as an individual post.** Included in the record as a routine grandiose-maintenance datapoint and as a clean exemplar of the validation-laundering structure.

## Authorship Analysis

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**Ten posts in 46 minutes to prove he was at Ground Zero — then a full night's sleep and a Dallas afternoon of borrowed praise.**

Trump posted twenty times, and more than half landed in one burst on the night before he flew to Dallas. A magazine story had questioned whether he was really at Ground Zero after 9/11, and he answered with ten posts in under an hour — one angry written rebuttal that included a crude personal attack on the reporter, followed by a stack of 2001 news clips and photos offered as proof, almost all with no caption at all. Then he slept a normal night, which is not always the case. The next day, from the Republican midterm convention in Dallas, the mood flipped: a link to a story about old FBI notes, praise for a friendly oil analyst on Fox, a military video about Iran, and a run of tribute films about himself in the half hour before he took the stage. The day's most alarming post wasn't anything he wrote — it was a produced clip he shared that urged Iranians to overthrow their own government.
