## What the media says

> Hello America, Mark Levin, and this is Life, Liberty and Levin Saturday. Welcome to the program. You know, I'm going to do something a little differently this evening. I want to talk about the state of the nation because we hear a lot of negativity. The President of the United States and this administration does not get the credit it deserves. In fact, as I went through the news this evening, I looked at everything. They try to humiliate and embarrass the administration. They're trying to look for, you know, negative issues. They're trying to look for scandals, but they're not reporting the news. I want to talk about something that matters to you. How are we doing in this country? You know, for matters that affect you directly. We hear about affordability, but then they drop it. Well, I don't want to drop it. I want to talk about it. Under this president, under this president, a year and a half in office in his second term, salary increases and take-home pay are rising faster than consumer price inflation, which is way down. The annual inflation rate stabilized and cooled slightly to 3.4 percent in July of this year, down from 3.5 percent. Now think about that, 3.4, 3.5. You know, those are rates that we haven't had since the first Trump term. And before that, since like never. While price acceleration has flattened and month over month, consumer prices rose by a modest 0.1 percent. In other words, they didn't rise. Inflation rose to a 40-year peak of 9.1 percent in June 2022 under President Biden, averaging nearly 5 percent during his presidency. He also spent like a wild Marxist with that massive inflation reduction act, which had nothing to do with inflation except caused inflation. That was trillions of dollars of needless spending. During President Trump's second term, inflation cooled significantly to an average of roughly 2.6 to 2.7 percent. That's incredible if you really think about it. Let's take a look at something else that matters to you, home prices. Home prices have declined on an annual basis in more than half the country, reversing years of rapid increases and improving affordability for families and first-time buyers. Rent growth slowed by its lowest pace since President Trump's first term, with single-family rent growth hitting a record low. Income growth is now outpacing rent growth nationwide, returning the typical share of income spent on rent close to pre-pandemic levels. Have you ever heard this? Of course not. We've got Maggie Haberman on CNN. She's into rumors and all. They all are, but they don't report the news. This is news. Orders for business equipment posted their largest surge in more than six years, while shipments of machinery and equipment also shattering expectations, strong signals of expanding industrial capacity. Initial jobless claims plunged to their lowest level since 1969, highlighting the exceptional strength of the labor market, strong labor market, strong business investment. Inflation is almost non-existent. These are very, very important indicators of what's going on. What about gas prices, electricity prices, the availability of energy? The president has ramped up domestic fossil fuel and nuclear production. He has slashed so-called climate change rules. Here's some of his actions, expanding production. He reopened federal lands and offshore areas to oil and gas leasing and drilling, while accelerating permitting timelines for new pipelines and refineries. Remember the prior administration, that regime, they couldn't block and sabotage and prevent enough energy production, could they? They hated it. We love it. For example, restrictions on drilling in parts of Alaska's 23.5 million acre National Petroleum Reserve were revoked. And also, the EPA issued a waiver to end summer blend smog restrictions ahead of the schedule, allowing cheaper fuel blends to enter the market sooner and increasing daily supply. Jones Act waivers, what's that? Well, the administration issued temporary 60-day waivers to the Jones Acts to ease domestic shipping restrictions and streamline fuel distribution. You can see the effort is to help the consumer. It is a constant effort with regulations, with taxes, with businesses, to push an agenda, a pro-growth energy agenda. And it's crucial, because without energy, without energy of all kinds, in all places, our economy can expand and we can't create wealth and prosperity. Reconsideration of regulations throttling the oil and gas industry. Reconsideration of mandatory greenhouse gas reporting program that imposed significant costs on the American energy supply. Reconsideration of limitations, guidelines, and standards for the steam electric power generating industry to ensure low-cost electricity while protecting water resources. Man, oh man, I'll tell you, in these blue states, with these degrothers and no-grothers, they're doing the opposite. They're sabotaging you. Mr. and Mrs. America, if you live in these blue states and cities, they're driving up. They're driving up the cost of all levels of energy and they're reducing the availability. So if you wonder why you have really high costs in some of these dark blue states, you can thank your governor and you can thank your state legislatures. Reconsideration of waste water regulations for oil and gas development to help unleash American energy. What about taking steps to make home ownership more affordable under this president? Hire salt cap, what's that? The president and the Republicans raised the state and local tax cap, which includes property taxes, from $10,000 to $40,000. This is money directly in your pocket. And for tax years 2025 to 2029, for itemized filers. Permanent mortgage limit, locked in the $750,000 limit on deductible mortgage debt, $375,000 for single filers, stopping it from reverting to $1 million. In other words, they want to make sure that you can deduct as much as possible. Mortgage insurance, restructured and permanently reinstated private mortgage insurance, that's PMI premiums, as deductible, deductible mortgage interest starting in 2026. The president made it easier to buy American made new cars and trucks on July 4, 2025, creating a temporary federal tax deduction for up to $10,000 a year in auto loan interest on new American personal use cars and light trucks under 14,000 pounds with final assembly in the United States. Houses, salaries, income, cars, trucks, energy. The federal government is doing everything it can under this president. I've never seen anything like it, quite frankly. Any of you take prescription drugs? Well, most of you do. And you should be seeing lower prices. I know I am. I certainly am when I'm going to the pharmacy. And this is what he's done. The President Trump announced agreements with major pharmaceutical companies to lower prescription drug prices for Americans in line with the lowest prices paid by other developed nations, known as the most favorite nation's price. The nine manufacturers, I won't name them all, but they're big and most of the drugs you get are from them. The agreements reduce prices on drugs that treat numerous costly and chronic conditions, a whole list of them. Pulmonary heart disease, asthma, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, two types of diabetes, and it goes on and on. Now, the agreements will provide that every state Medicaid program in the country access the most favored nation drug prices on products made by those nine major drug companies, resulting in billions of dollars in savings to you, Mr. and Mrs. America. Now, has another president done that? No. Did the prior president do that? No. Did the Democrats do that? No. Trump did it. The agreements require the nine companies to offer medicines at a deeper discount off the list price when selling directly to American patients through TrumpRX. You ought to take advantage of TrumpRX. More. What about tax cuts for families? Federal tax cuts. Raised and locked in the higher standard deduction levels originally set in 2017 for the vast majority of individual followers. Lower income tax rates. Maintained lower marginal income tax brackets across the board, across the board, not just billionaires and millionaires as the as the chattering classes would have you believe for everybody. Child tax credit extended and boosted the double child tax credit benefiting tens of millions of American families. No tax on tips created a federal income tax deduction for qualified service and beauty industry tips. No tax on overtime implemented dedicated deductions for eligible overtime pay. Senior relief provided enhanced tax deductions and targeted relief for Social Security income retirees. What about businesses and corporations that create the private sector jobs? Corporate tax rate maintained the lowest 21% corporate income tax rate enacted by his first term policies. Immediate expensing extended provisions letting businesses immediately deduct the cost of factory construction and short term equipment investments. Now this is a lot of information because the President has done a lot and I want you to be aware of this. I do this monologue about 20 minutes and I'm going to get as much of this in as I can so you understand when people say he's not focused on affordability. He's all about affordability. That's what his whole domestic agenda is about. Affordability. Paid leave tax credit made permanent the employee tax credit for offering employee paid families medical leave savings and investment provisions. Trump accounts established tax deferred $1,000 government seed investments and saving pathways for children born between 2024 and 2028 to use for education or first. You realize if you take advantage of that that your children will have a significant amount of money saved up tax free for them as a result of these tax these Trump tax accounts. It's just incredible. Expanded 529 accounts broadened allowable uses of education savings accounts to include K through 12 materials and post-secondary trade credentials. It's pretty incredible and about what about the lifestyle you have? What about the ability to live in a free society without being mugged and raped and murdered? Well, that can't be perfect. Obviously there are evil people out there, but there are efforts that can be taken to reduce it and the President has grabbed every single one of them. Violet crime plunged 9.3% in 2025. These are FBI statistics. The largest annual decline on record. Murder dropped 18.1% tying the lowest rate in recorded history. This is for 2025. Robbery fell 18.5% resulting in nearly 38,500 fewer robberies. Rape declined 7.6% resulting in more than 10,000 fewer victims. Aggravated assault fell 7.2% resulting in over 62,700 fewer attacks. Property crime dropped 12.4%, the second largest decline in history, with nearly 750,000 fewer offenses. Meanwhile, preliminary data for the first half of this year shows the decline continuing and deepening with violent crime down an additional 10.6%, murder down another 23%, rape down 18.6%, and robberies down 19.6% compared to the same time period last year. Nearly 54,000 violent crime arrests, up 90%, including more than 31,000 violent crimes and gang members, up 30%. More than 5,000 child predators and human traffickers arrested, up 13%. More than 11,000 child victims located and identified, up 21%. Record disruptions across criminal, cyber, counter-terrorism, counter-intelligence, international operations, taking down hundreds of cyber criminal enterprises, espionage rings, and terrorist networks. Again, this is from the FBI. Let's move quickly. There's a lot that this president's doing and has done. Immigration. The U.S. had negative net immigration in 2025 for the first time in at least half a century. Compare that to Biden, when we had all those pictures of tens of thousands of people rushing the border. The president has deported more than 605,000 illegal aliens with an additional 1.9 million self-deporting. 1.9 million self-deporting, bringing the total number of illegals who have left the U.S. since the president returned to office to 2.5 million. He stopped more than 10,000 individuals with narco-terrorism ties from entering the United States. Daily detention numbers and arrests have reached record numbers. Border crossings and encounters with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol have dropped significantly compared to prior years. ICE. I love ICE. I love ICE with my Diet Coke and I love ICE, period, with our government, and I want to thank each and every person in ICE. Thank you. ICE significantly ramped up hiring and personnel capacities backed by billions of new congressional appropriations. Trump administration terminated temporary protective status for a variety of dangerous third world countries, rescued more than 60,000 migrant children from sex trafficking and child labor. State Department paused immigrant visa processing for 75 countries whose migrants take welfare from the American people and unacceptable rate. And since returning to office in 2025, President Trump has drastically reshaped U.S. immigration policy through hundreds of executive actions, massive funding bills like the one big beautiful bill, and a government-wide push for widespread interior enforcement and border restrictions. The U.S. Border Patrol has documented unprecedented changes in illegal border crossings throughout 2025, meaning they have cratered, cratered illegal immigration coming into this country. With southwest border apprehensions reaching historic lows not seen in decades, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol's CBP reports that July 2025 marked another record-breaking month with the most secure border in history, achieving only 4,598 southwest border apprehensions, nearly 500 fewer than June's previous. And it goes on. Safer, illegal immigration almost ended. The president is using every tool he has as a president to address housing issues, energy issues, all these other issues. And yet here we have in our states, here we have in our states with the highest grocery prices, Hawaii, Alaska, California, Washington, and Vermont. Almost all Democrat states, in the case of Alaska, it transitions from Republican to Democrat back and forth. But it's far away. But some of these states, there's no excuse. Highest gasoline prices, Blue State, California, Blue State, Hawaii, Blue State, Washington State. And you have Alaska and Nevada, who are on the cusp. But nonetheless, states with the highest electricity bills, well, D.C., not a state, but there it is. Number one, New Jersey, number two, New Hampshire, number three, Maryland, number four, and then Ohio. Four out of five, Blue States. States with the highest annual cost for infant care, District of Columbia, Massachusetts, California, Minnesota, Colorado, Hawaii, all Democrat states. Top least affordable states by cost of living index. Number one, California, number two, New York, number three, Washington State. Number four, Connecticut, number five, Maryland, number six, New Jersey, number seven, Alaska, number eight, Massachusetts. All dark, blue, hardcore Democrat states. All of them. And then we have, according to the Cato Institute, the five least free states. New York, Hawaii, California, New Jersey, Oregon. All Democrat states. So, you know, I would say to my Republican friends who are running and with this midterm coming, you need to frame these discussions a little better. You need to get out there and confidently go on the offense and point out if you live in a dark blue state or a dark blue congressional district, you're paying more than anybody else in red states and dark red districts. Whether it's property taxes, whether it's income taxes, whether it's user fees, whether it's crossing bridges and they charge you a fee, whatever it is. The food prices, the child care prices, they're through the roof in dark blue states. And the interesting thing is when you put these numbers together with the red states, then you get these national numbers, right? So the blue states are dragging down the country. The blue cities are dragging down the country. When you look at the data, they're dragging down the data. And yet when you look at the Trump data and what Trump is doing, it's incredible. Even in the face of these obstacles from these blue governors, these blue mayors, these blue legislatures, look at what he's doing and look at the accomplishments.

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-09-08T22:48:10.907Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Summary

A caption-free amplification of a Mark Levin monologue whose explicit organizing premise is that the subject "does not get the credit it deserves" and that the press "tries to humiliate and embarrass the administration." With no authored text, the analyzable behavior is selection: he chose to redistribute nine minutes of third-party praise and press-delegitimization without a word of his own. This is close to pure supply-seeking, executed in an unusually regulated register — no rage, no dysregulation, no self-interrupting escalation. The psychologically distinctive feature is outsourced defense: devaluation (Haberman, CNN, "that regime"), splitting ("They hated it. We love it") and idealization all operate at one remove, achieving the regulatory function while preserving deniability. The dominant mechanism is rationalization — an affordability vulnerability is reframed as a reporting failure, converting material hardship into a grievance about coverage. Context sharpens the reading: the post follows a week of right-flank defection (Carlson, Greene, Massie) and an adverse SDNY visa ruling, so amplifying a loyal movement broadcaster who certifies both the record and the persecution performs coalition repair alongside self-soothing. The clip's closing move — "Have you ever heard this? Of course not" — instructs the audience to treat non-confirmation elsewhere as confirmation, an epistemic-closure device the subject distributes but does not voice. No danger indicators, no dehumanization, no violent imagery. Consistent with baseline; cognitive status is not assessable from a post containing no authored language.

## Overview

This is a **media-only post**: no caption, no commentary, no emoji — a bare `.mp4` of a Mark Levin *Life, Liberty & Levin* monologue. The analyzable behavior is therefore **selection and amplification**, not composition. Nothing in the transcript is the subject's speech; the wording, grammar, cadence and rhetorical construction belong to Levin and must not be scored as the subject's own production.

What was selected is unusually on-the-nose. Levin opens by naming the grievance directly: *"The President of the United States and this administration does not get the credit it deserves... They try to humiliate and embarrass the administration."* The clip's organizing premise is not a policy argument but an **injustice-of-recognition** argument — the administration is doing well, and a hostile press is withholding the acknowledgment it is owed. The subject then republishes that framing to his own audience without a word of his own.

## Level 1 — Dispositional traits (thin evidence)

With no authored text, trait inference rests only on the curatorial act and must be held loosely.

- **Extraversion (assertiveness, positive affect):** moderately elevated. The selection is expansive and celebratory rather than defensive-withdrawn.
- **Agreeableness (modesty facet):** low. Choosing a nine-minute broadcast tribute to one's own economic record and publishing it unremarked is an immodest act even when the words are someone else's — the absence of a caption is not restraint so much as an invitation to let the praise stand as-is.
- **Neuroticism (angry hostility):** mild-to-moderate, indirect. The hostility is outsourced: Levin names Maggie Haberman and CNN, disparages "that regime," and characterizes prior spending as that of "a wild Marxist." The subject supplies none of this himself but distributes all of it.
- **Openness:** low. The selection reinforces an existing closed frame rather than introducing information.
- **Conscientiousness:** not assessable.

## Level 2 — Characteristic adaptations

**Dominant motive: validation**, with secondary **status** maintenance. This is close to a pure supply-seeking act — the content of the clip *is* admiration, and the posting behavior is its redistribution.

Two schemas are legible in what was chosen:

1. **Persecutory-media schema.** The press is not merely wrong but motivated — it "tries to humiliate and embarrass," hunts for scandals, and suppresses favorable facts. This is the durable adaptation across the subject's archive; here he did not need to articulate it, only to select a surrogate who articulates it for him.
2. **Merit-denied schema.** Achievement is real, recognition is being withheld by bad actors. This converts a potential vulnerability (affordability, cost of living) into a grievance about coverage rather than a grievance about conditions.

The timing is diagnostically relevant. Levin devotes the clip to **affordability** — *"We hear about affordability, but then they drop it"* — which is precisely the domain where the administration is politically exposed. Amplification of a friendly broadcaster's affordability defense functions as **counter-programming on a soft flank**, not as spontaneous celebration.

## Level 3 — Narrative identity

The narrative work is done by proxy, which is itself notable. The subject is cast as **the unappreciated builder** — a protagonist whose results are self-evident and whose antagonists are not opponents with arguments but gatekeepers who refuse to report. The **contrasting other** is doubled: the prior administration ("that regime," which "hated" energy production) and the press (Haberman, CNN). Levin's *"We love it"* / *"They hated it"* construction supplies an explicit in-group boundary.

The sequence structure is **redemptive**: inflation peaked under the predecessor, cooled under the subject; energy was sabotaged, then unleashed. The subject selects a story in which he is the corrective term.

## Level 4 — Clinical indicators

- **Narcissistic features:** the selection is consistent with need for excessive admiration and with a sensitivity to insufficient recognition. Publishing an extended third-party tribute with no framing is a low-cost, high-yield supply behavior. This is characterologically consistent with baseline, not an escalation.
- **Paranoid features:** present but **borrowed**. The suspicion-of-motive content ("they try to humiliate," "they're not reporting the news") is the broadcaster's; endorsement-by-amplification is meaningful evidence of resonance but weaker evidence than authored speech.
- **Antisocial features:** not indicated in this act.
- **Sadism:** absent. No humiliation of a named target by the subject; Levin's swipe at Haberman is dismissive rather than cruel.

**Narcissistic state: grandiose**, in a comparatively regulated register. There is no rage, no injury-response signature, no self-interrupting escalation. The trigger profile reads as **supply-seeking with a maintenance component** rather than reaction to a fresh wound — though contextually it follows a week in which the subject's right flank (Carlson, Greene, Massie) publicly defected over the Iran war and drew a nearly 300-word "LOSERS ALL" response. Against that backdrop, amplifying a loyal movement broadcaster who certifies both his record and his persecution also performs **coalition repair**: it re-anchors the base's information environment on a friendly authority at a moment of intra-coalition fracture.

## Defense mechanisms

- **Rationalization (neurotic):** the affordability problem is reframed as a reporting problem. Selecting a segment that answers "are people struggling?" with "you haven't been told how well things are going" substitutes epistemic complaint for material response.
- **Devaluation (immature):** delivered by proxy — Haberman as a rumor-monger, the predecessor as "a wild Marxist," the prior administration as "that regime."
- **Splitting (immature):** the clip's structure is categorical — we love / they hated, news vs. rumor, this president vs. that regime. No mixed or partial appraisals survive.
- **Idealization (immature):** of self, via surrogate. The subject does not have to make the grandiose claim; he only has to distribute it.

Note the psychological economy here: **outsourced defense**. Every mechanism operates at one remove, which preserves deniability while achieving the same regulatory function. This is a recurring and comparatively adaptive pattern in the archive — third-party amplification is the subject's least dysregulated mode of self-defense.

## Rhetorical and propaganda techniques (in the amplified material)

Attributed to Levin, distributed by the subject:

- **Cherry-picked framing with internal tension.** The segment cites 3.4% July inflation "down from 3.5%," calls this "way down," and separately claims a second-term average of "roughly 2.6 to 2.7 percent" and that "inflation is almost non-existent." A 3.4% current rate is materially above the 2% target and above the figure the same segment gives as the term average; the pieces are assembled for direction-of-travel effect rather than internal consistency. A 0.1% monthly print is also glossed as "in other words, they didn't rise," which is not what 0.1% means.
- **Superlative stacking:** "lowest level since 1969," "largest surge in more than six years," "record low," "shattering expectations."
- **Ad hominem by name:** Haberman, CNN.
- **False dichotomy:** rumors vs. "this is news."
- **Epistemic closure move:** *"Have you ever heard this? Of course not."* — the audience is told that the absence of this framing elsewhere is itself proof of its truth and of others' corruption. This is the most consequential element in the clip: it does not merely make claims, it instructs the audience to treat non-confirmation as confirmation.
- **Dehumanizing language:** none. **Violent imagery:** none.

## Danger assessment

**None.** No eliminationist language, no target-plus-grievance-plus-implied-action structure, no mobilization call. The naming of a journalist by the broadcaster is worth logging as low-level press-targeting given the subject's reach, but it does not approach a stochastic-terrorism pattern.

## Authorship

Timing: 13:10 UTC = **09:10 ET**, mid-morning, ordinary waking hours — the weakest possible timing signal, discriminating in neither direction. Late-August location is most plausibly Bedminster or Washington; both are Eastern time, so the conversion is not in doubt.

With no written text, **stylometry is entirely unavailable** and was not scored. The only usable evidence is posting-pattern: media-only Fox/Levin clips posted without caption are a long-established personal habit for this account, and the immediately preceding day carries a captioned Levin link ("These blue states are sabotaging you"), indicating an active Levin-consumption cluster consistent with real-time viewing and reposting. Against that, uncaptioned clip-drops are also the easiest category for staff to place. The attribution below concerns **who selected the clip**, not who wrote anything, and is capped at low confidence accordingly.

## Longitudinal note

This post is **consistent with baseline** and represents one of the subject's lower-arousal modes. Its interest is positional rather than intensive: a validation-seeking amplification deployed on the affordability flank during a week of right-flank defection and adverse legal rulings. Cognitive-status assessment is impossible here — there is no authored language to score, and a timestamp carries no linguistic information. Tracking the frequency of caption-free surrogate-praise posts relative to authored posts would be a more informative longitudinal measure than any single instance.

## Authorship Analysis

**Uncertain** (score: 60%)

### Indicators

- No written text — stylometric analysis is impossible; typos, capitalization, syntax and drift are all unavailable and were not scored
- 09:10 ET (13:10 UTC) — ordinary morning hours, a non-discriminating timing signal
- Uncaptioned media-only clip drops from friendly broadcast segments are a long-standing personal habit for this account
- Immediately preceding post (same day) is also a Mark Levin item, indicating an active viewing-and-reposting cluster consistent with real-time consumption
- Counterweight: caption-free clip posts are also the easiest category for staff to place, and no first-person voice is present to anchor attribution

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**Levin at both ends, Canada in the middle: a five-post day of borrowed grievance with no rage in it**

Trump posted just five times, a very light day by his standards. Two came after midnight — a Fox News clip claiming blue states are sabotaging him, then a self-written shot at Canada for wanting "the benefits of being a State, without being one." He then went quiet for about eight hours, which suggests he actually slept, before a quick morning burst that shared a Mark Levin monologue about the press refusing to give him credit and re-shared his own earlier posts. There was no anger and no spiral; the striking thing is how much of the day he spent letting other people talk for him, at the end of a week in which Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Thomas Massie all broke with him. The only line with real-world edge was the Canada annexation framing — which he liked enough to post twice.
