## What the media says

**Video transcript** (5:50), transcribed automatically, so names and numbers may be wrong. Speakers aren't identified, so a voice in it may not be his:

> We are now joined by Tom Homan, the Border Czar. Welcome back, sir. How are you? And I guess it's one year later. You guys cleaned up Washington, DC. Well, look, America should be celebrating. President Trump, once again, promises made, promises kept. I mean, a year ago, like you said, he said, let's clean up DC. We're the strongest nation on the face of the earth. We should have the safest capital. This should be a shiny example of the entire world. And it wasn't. I mean, I would not walk the streets of DC two years ago without a concealed weapon. It's dangerous. The crime was rampant. Homicides were rampant. And in the year that President Trump has taken on DC, you're talking over 16,000 of them rest. You're talking almost 2,000 weapons, firearms, taken off the streets of Washington, DC. Now, I work in this city every day. Now, the city, I've never seen it so clean and so safe. Again, promises made, promises kept. I just wish cities like Chicago would take President Trump on his offer and help clean up Chicago and stop them massive shootings every weekend. Let's take a look at some of the numbers. Here's homicide, C03, please. We're talking down a very significant amount so far. Let me ask you, how much of this was an illegal migrant problem as opposed to, you know, American born and raised criminals? It was a big problem with illegal aliens in Washington, DC. Washington, DC is very proud of being a sanctuary. And when President Trump started this operation, we had more cooperation with the local PD than we ever had before on immigration related matters. I mean, you know, and that's just not Washington, DC, Greg. I look at the numbers. You know, June, June, ICE arrested more illegal aliens than any time in the history of the agency. In July, they blew June numbers away. The last two months, record deportation, never seen anything like it before under President Trump's leadership. But in DC, we took thousands of illegal aliens off the street and a percentage of them were public safety threats. They're no longer here. They're out of the country that have been deported. You know, I hear sometimes from some of my allies in MAGA and they feel, and maybe they're misinformed, that mass deportations have been scaled back, that we're not seeing the mass deportations that a lot of folks wanted to see. What would you say to those folks? I don't know what these numbers indicate. You say they're higher than ever before, higher than under Obama. So what do you say to those people who may not be satisfied? Look at the data. I mean, what I just said was, I mean, people said, well, we're not making many arrests who did last year. That's a bunch of crap. I mean, June was the highest month in the history of the agency. July, they broke another record. And I expect to break another record in August. We'll remove more people. Record number of arrests and deportations, despite the fact, now, this is what people need to understand. They think it's just, well, go arrest an alien and deport them. No, we got to find the alien who don't want to be found. We got to take him to detention. Then there's a process, get travel documents, get orders to remove them. It's just not a daily thing. It doesn't happen that easily. But record numbers in the last two months, despite the fact, we got over 100 nationwide injunctions filed against us. So we're constantly in court with these radical judges. We had, last count, over 65,000 habeas cases. That's 65,000 aliens that we weren't allowed to detain, which means now they're back in the wind. We got to go find them again. Radical judges in the sanctuary cities are trying to slow this down. And they have a little bit. But bottom line is, despite all that, despite the injunctions, despite the radical judges, despite the sanctuary cities, despite the difficulty removing aliens to countries that don't want to give us travel documents, we're making record. Historic number of arrests and deportations, despite all that, am I happy with the number right now? No, I want more too. And as we bring these thousands of more agents on, we expect those numbers to increase. And we're going to keep fighting. DOJ is fighting the sanctuary cities. We win some of those cases in sanctuary cities, you're going to see the numbers climb even further. I'm pushing for more work site enforcement operations, and that's happening now. So I expect the numbers to climb, even though they're historic, I'm not happy either. I want more. Real quick, this is President Trump from the Oval Office. Taking advantage of the birth tourism situation. C-0-9, please. How many individuals take advantage of birth tourism? Is there a number that you-- I'll tell you right now. Hundreds of thousands, okay? Hundreds of thousands. One man came in with a family head, said he had 56 children. Another one came in, they said they had 98 children. This was not what it was for. This was meant for the babies of slaves. It was right after one week or two weeks after the Civil War ended. And this is probably going to go probably back to the Supreme Court. I think that's where it's headed. Hey, listen, Tom Homan, we have to go. Real quick, Tom Homan, the border czar. Do you have a formal name like for your title, like the drug czar, is like the Director of National Drug Control, something or other. Is there a formal subtitle to border czar? Assistant to the president. There you go. I like it. Very prestigious. But maybe not as prestigious as border czar. Border czar has us. Border czar rocks. Border czar rocks. And remember, the other border czar we had made quite a change from the last border czar. We sure did. We sure did. I wonder if she could find that on a map. I really, really do. Tom Homan, thank you very much. The border czar and assistant to the president. To be continued, sir, and we'll be right back.

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-09-09T04:05:30.743Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Summary

A wordless amplification of a cable-news segment in which Border Czar Tom Homan praises the subject for the one-year-old Washington, D.C. enforcement surge. With no authored text, the analyzable behavior is curation. Two functions are stacked. First, supply-by-proxy: praise delivered by a subordinate ('promises made, promises kept,' 'never seen anything like it before under President Trump's leadership') is more usable than self-praise and, forwarded without comment, preserves deniability about seeking it. Second, and more diagnostically interesting, the selected clip is built around rebutting the subject's own base — the host raises doubt from 'allies in MAGA' that deportations have been scaled back, and Homan answers 'that's a bunch of crap.' Choosing a defensive segment over a purely celebratory one suggests intra-coalition skepticism is registering, consistent with the reported Carlson-faction break days earlier. The amplified material supplies a self-sealing blame architecture — results historic, obstruction total ('radical judges,' 'sanctuary cities') — that retains credit while pre-assigning fault. Grandiosity is present but delegated; no rage, no acute injury, no first-person expansiveness. Danger is elevated rather than high: no individuated target and no implied follower action, but the clip normalizes an armed federal surge as settled success and openly solicits its extension to Chicago. Cognitive status is not assessable — no subject-produced language exists in this post, and the transcript belongs to other speakers.

## Post Overview

A media-only Truth Social post: no caption, no commentary, no emoji. The attached video is a cable-news interview segment (the host appears to be addressed as "Greg," and the guest is Border Czar Tom Homan) marking the one-year anniversary of the federal law-enforcement surge in Washington, D.C. The segment is almost entirely third-person praise of the subject: "President Trump, once again, promises made, promises kept," "record deportation... never seen anything like it before under President Trump's leadership."

Because the subject wrote nothing, the analyzable behavior is **curation**: what he selected, and the fact that he let a surrogate's voice stand in for his own without adding a word. All linguistic evidence below belongs to Homan and the host, not to him.

## Timing and Authorship

The timestamp of 2026-08-13T00:02:57Z converts to approximately 8:03 PM Eastern on August 12. Given the surrounding record (a State Department roundtable in Washington on August 7, and the August posting rhythm), Eastern time is the operative zone. Eight in the evening is prime cable-news hours and squarely inside the subject's long-documented pattern of real-time television reaction — reposting a segment shortly after it airs, without gloss. That pattern is behavioral evidence, not stylometric evidence.

**There is no stylometric signal available here at all.** No spelling, capitalization, punctuation, or syntax was produced by anyone whose authorship is in question. The score below reflects only who plausibly *selected and pushed* the clip, and is capped at low confidence accordingly. Evening timing and the bare-media form modestly favor personal selection over a communications staffer, since staff-run amplification more often carries a framing caption or hashtag; but a digital team clipping a favorable Homan hit is an equally ordinary explanation.

## Psychological Reading

### Level 1 — Dispositional Traits (inferred from selection, not language)

The choice is high on **agency-flavored extraversion** (assertive self-promotion by proxy) and markedly low on **agreeableness–modesty**: the subject published a video whose organizing sentence is that he keeps his promises and leads an operation of historic magnitude, and did not dilute it with any self-deprecating or qualifying word. **Openness** is not assessable. **Conscientiousness** signals are absent; the post is an act of consumption and forwarding rather than construction.

### Level 2 — Characteristic Adaptations

The dominant motive is **status/validation with a defensive edge**. Two distinct functions are stacked in the selected clip:

1. **Supply by proxy.** Praise delivered by a subordinate is, in narcissistic economy, more usable than self-praise: it arrives pre-laundered as testimony. Posting it without comment is the maximally efficient form — the subject gets the admiration and keeps deniability about having sought it.

2. **Base management under intra-coalition strain.** The most psychologically informative passage is the host's: "I hear sometimes from some of my allies in MAGA and they feel... that mass deportations have been scaled back." Homan's reply is defensive and heated ("That's a bunch of crap"). This is not celebration; it is **rebuttal aimed inward**, at supporters. The context supplied by the surrounding week — the Carlson–Massie–Greene gathering reported as a declared break from the subject over Iran — makes the selection legible as reassurance to a coalition showing fracture lines. Choosing a clip in which a loyal lieutenant refutes doubters, rather than one of pure celebration, suggests the doubt is registering.

3. **Externalized blame architecture.** The clip's second half converts any shortfall into the fault of "radical judges," "over 100 nationwide injunctions," "65,000 habeas cases," and "sanctuary cities." The structure is: results are historic *and* obstruction is total. Amplifying this preserves credit and pre-assigns blame simultaneously — a durable, self-sealing frame.

### Level 3 — Narrative Identity

Pure **redemption sequence** in the deliverer register: a capital that was dangerous ("I would not walk the streets of DC two years ago without a concealed weapon") is now "so clean and so safe." The protagonist role is **restorer of order**, and the contrasting others are stacked — criminal aliens, sanctuary jurisdictions, and obstructing judges. Identity claim: the man who does what he said he would do. The Chicago aside ("I just wish cities like Chicago would take President Trump on his offer") extends the narrative forward, casting the next city as a place awaiting rescue rather than a jurisdiction with its own authority.

### Level 4 — Clinical Indicators

Grandiosity is present but **delegated** — a meaningful distinction. The post shows no rage, no injury response, no first-person expansiveness. Narcissistic features register in the selection (appetite for superlative praise, historic-record framing) rather than in production. Paranoid coloring appears in the amplified material ("radical judges," coordinated obstruction) but at the level of ordinary political grievance, not persecutory ideation. Antisocial and sadistic indicators are low: the clip's tone is bureaucratic-triumphal, not gloating over suffering. This is a **maintenance** post with a defensive undertone, not a wound.

## Rhetorical and Propaganda Analysis (of amplified content)

Techniques present in the selected segment: **testimonial** (surrogate validation), **statistical impressionism** (round, unsourced totals — "over 16,000," "almost 2,000 weapons"), **superlative record framing** ("highest month in the history of the agency"), **false dilemma** between record enforcement and judicial obstruction, and **transfer** of the D.C. result onto Chicago as an implied next step.

The register toward the enforcement population deserves note without overstatement. "We got to find the alien who don't want to be found" and "they're back in the wind" apply a quarry metaphor to human beings — depersonalizing, though drawn from enforcement jargon rather than the explicitly bestial vocabulary ("animals," "vermin," "infestation") that marks the high end of dehumanization. It falls short of that threshold but is not neutral.

## Danger Assessment

**Elevated, not high.** No target is individuated, no grievance is paired with an implied action by followers, and no violence is invoked. What raises it above baseline is the normalization pathway: the clip presents an armed federal surge in one American city as a settled success and openly solicits its extension to another ("help clean up Chicago"). Amplifying that expansion, without comment, is the actionable element — institutional escalation rather than stochastic incitement.

## Reality-Distortion Notes

Per protocol, the numerical claims here belong to Homan and the host and are **not** attributed to the subject; no fact-check entries are generated. Analytically, several are worth flagging as amplified assertions: the arrest and deportation totals are agency-sourced and not independently audited; the "65,000 habeas cases" figure and "over 100 nationwide injunctions" are presented without provenance; and the causal attribution of D.C. crime decline to immigration enforcement is asserted rather than demonstrated. The subject's behavior is endorsement-by-publication, which carries real epistemic weight with his audience but is not the same speech act as making the claim.

## Cognitive Status

**Not assessable.** There is no subject-produced language in this post. The transcript reflects two other speakers, and its features — including its disfluencies and grammatical irregularities — must not be scored against his baseline. No deviation is recorded in either direction.

## Confidence and Limitations

- Authorship: **low** by design (no stylometric substrate).
- Motive inference (base reassurance amid coalition strain): **medium** — supported by clip content and the documented Carlson-faction break, but any single wordless repost is thin evidence.
- Trait inference: **low to medium** — curation is informative but noisier than composition.

Longitudinal value would improve substantially by measuring the rate of wordless surrogate-praise reposts against periods of documented intra-coalition conflict; a rising ratio of delegated to authored self-praise is itself a trackable variable.

## Authorship Analysis

**Uncertain** (score: 60%)

### Indicators

- Posted ~8:03 PM Eastern (2026-08-13T00:02:57Z), outside business hours and within the subject's documented evening cable-news reaction window
- Media-only with no caption, hashtag, or framing text — staff amplification more typically carries a caption or call to action
- Content is a just-aired TV segment praising him, matching a long-standing real-time-television reposting pattern
- No stylometric evidence exists: zero subject-produced text in the post
- Counter-indicator: a digital/comms team clipping a favorable surrogate hit is an equally routine explanation

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**A day written mostly by staff, broken once by six words about his own pen**

Trump's account posted heavily, but he wrote almost none of it. The bulk of the day was a rapid batch of campaign endorsements — more than a dozen New York and Florida candidates, all cut from the same template — pushed out in barely over an hour of the late afternoon and then reposted onto his own feed twice more that evening. Earlier he put out five separate links about a single ethics complaint against a Democratic senator, which made one filing look like five findings, and he twice shared TV clips of his border czar defending the administration rather than defending it himself. The one line that clearly sounded like him came in a post celebrating a court win on import duties, where he noted he had signed with "the stroke of my mighty pen — NO AUTOPEN!!!" There was no anger anywhere in the day, a normal night's sleep before it, and no response at all to the previous day's ruling releasing more Epstein files.
