## Post text

> College Sports, a Great American Institution that produces our many Athletes, Leaders, and Olympic Dominance, is a total “mess,” and everyone is saying that it must be fixed. After unending lawsuits and crazed rulings, there are virtually no limits anymore, and soon most Colleges won't have Sports because each and every one of them will be bankrupt, never to be heard from again. Women's Sports, and the Olympics, itself, are in the most danger from this catastrophic situation. College Sports are turning into Pro Sports, except with absolutely no rules, a result no one wants. University Presidents, Conference Commissioners, Student-Athletes, Coaches, and Athletic Directors all complained to me that it has become a disaster, after years of no action, and that Schools were losing Hundreds of Millions of Dollars a year. They compared it to a freight train that can’t be stopped!
>
> That is why, a few months ago, I convened a Roundtable bringing together a World-Class Team of some of the best Sports Executives, Student-Athletes, and Political Leaders in our Country. The goal was to find a Bipartisan solution to fix the problem.
>
> Based on these meetings and the expertise of the Leading Authorities, I signed an Executive Order, but I always said that the best solution was to get a Bipartisan Act of Congress to my desk in order to save a long and embarrassing ROAD THROUGH HELL for these Institutions. I’d like to thank Senators Ted Cruz, Eric Schmitt, Maria Cantwell, and Chris Coons, among others, for introducing the Protect College Sports Act. This Law resolves many of the most urgent issues challenging our Universities and Student-Athletes, stops the chaos and, most importantly, it may be the last chance to save College Sports, and Colleges themselves, before it's too late.
>
> The House has worked long and hard on this issue as well, and I am very grateful to Speaker Mike Johnson and Leader Steve Scalise for their work to fix this very major problem.
>
> I urge the House and Senate to come together to pass a final Bipartisan Law, that I can sign this summer, that reflects the views and input of both Chambers. WE HAVE TO SAVE COLLEGE SPORTS! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-06-04T17:22:20.337Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Analysis: Post ts_116692873830981873 (June 4, 2026)

### Authorship Attribution

This post bears strong markers of **aide/staff authorship**, in sharp contrast to the same-day surrounding posts (Karl Rove attack, 'Dumocrats' ballot grievances, War Powers complaint), which are unmistakably authentic Trump.

**Aide indicators present:**
- Posted at ~12:52pm ET (business hours; Trump likely at White House)
- Polished multi-paragraph structure with clean transitions
- Specific proper names spelled correctly (Cruz, Schmitt, Cantwell, Coons, Johnson, Scalise)
- Precise bill name ('Protect College Sports Act')
- Third-person sign-off: 'President DONALD J. TRUMP' (vs. authentic 'President DJT' in same-day posts)
- Coherent policy narrative arc: problem → roundtable → executive order → legislative ask
- No idiosyncratic typos, dropped prepositions, or comma splices
- No emotional drift, no mid-post grievance tangent

**Trump-style decoration:** Capitalized nouns ('Great American Institution,' 'Athletes,' 'Leaders'), 'ROAD THROUGH HELL,' 'WE HAVE TO SAVE COLLEGE SPORTS!', 'Thank you for your attention to this matter' — these are stylistic mimicry by a staffer trained on Trump voice. The capitalization pattern is decorative/systematic rather than organic.

Authorship score: ~0.15 (high confidence aide-drafted with Trump style overlay).

### Psychological Content

The substantive content is largely policy advocacy — relatively low affective intensity for a Trump-attributed post. Notable elements:

- **Grandiose framing of personal role**: 'University Presidents, Conference Commissioners, Student-Athletes, Coaches, and Athletic Directors all complained *to me*' — positions Trump as universal confidant/problem-solver.
- **Catastrophizing**: 'bankrupt, never to be heard from again,' 'last chance,' 'before it's too late,' 'freight train that can't be stopped.'
- **Savior narrative**: Trump convenes the roundtable, signs the EO, calls for legislation — sequence positions him as the indispensable rescuer.
- **Women's sports/Olympics mention**: Gestures toward culture-war framing (likely trans-athlete subtext) without explicitly invoking it — typical aide hedging.

### Rhetorical Devices

Hyperbole, appeal to nostalgia ('Great American Institution'), catastrophizing, savior framing, manufactured consensus ('everyone is saying'). Notably absent: ad hominem, dehumanization, paranoid attributions — further evidence of non-Trump authorship.

### Clinical Significance

Low. This is a routine policy statement with minimal psychological data about the subject himself. The contrast with same-day authentic posts is itself informative for longitudinal authorship modeling.

### Danger Assessment

None.

## Fact Verification

| Claim | Verdict | Evidence |
|-------|---------|----------|
| "Trump signed an Executive Order on college sports." | **True** | Trump signed an executive order on college athletics / NIL issues in 2025 directing federal agencies to address compensation and labor classification questions. The order's existence is well-documented in public reporting. |
| "Senators Cruz, Schmitt, Cantwell, and Coons introduced the 'Protect College Sports Act.'" | **True** | The claim is fully verified. The U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, & Transportation issued an official press release announcing that Senators Maria Cantwell (D-Wash., Ranking Member), Ted Cruz (R-Texas, Chairman), Chris Coons (D-Del.), and Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) introduced the 'Protect College Sports Act of 2026' on May 27, 2026. The bill aims to stabilize college sports by codifying athletes' rights, supporting women's and Olympic sports, creating a national NIL framework to replace the patchwork of state laws, capping agent fees at 5%, establishing transfer/eligibility rules, and amending the Sports Broadcasting Act to expand revenue sharing. The Senate Commerce Committee held a hearing on the bill on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 — the day before Trump's post. Multiple independent sources confirm both the title and the four-senator sponsorship exactly as Trump described: official Senate press releases from both the Commerce Committee (majority and minority) and Sen. Coons's office, plus reporting from Yahoo Sports, Roll Call, Sportico, and KOMO News. The bill title, senators, and bipartisan nature all match Trump's statement precisely. |
| "Schools are 'losing Hundreds of Millions of Dollars a year' due to current NIL/college sports environment." | **Half True** | Athletic department deficits and rising NIL/revenue-sharing costs are real and substantial at many institutions, but the framing that most colleges face imminent bankruptcy of their athletic programs overstates the empirical picture. Distress is concentrated rather than universal. |
| "Most colleges 'won't have Sports because each and every one of them will be bankrupt.'" | **Mostly False** | Catastrophizing rhetoric. While some athletic departments face financial pressure from NIL and revenue-sharing changes, there is no credible projection that most colleges will eliminate athletics due to bankruptcy. |

Overall Veracity: 68%

> Schools are 'losing Hundreds of Millions of Dollars a year' due to current NIL/college sports environment.

**HALF TRUE**

Athletic department deficits and rising NIL/revenue-sharing costs are real and substantial at many institutions, but the framing that most colleges face imminent bankruptcy of their athletic programs overstates the empirical picture. Distress is concentrated rather than universal.

**MOSTLY FALSE**

Catastrophizing rhetoric. While some athletic departments face financial pressure from NIL and revenue-sharing changes, there is no credible projection that most colleges will eliminate athletics due to bankruptcy.

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**Hours after California's primary, he calls the slow mail-ballot count Democrats "stealing the Vote"**

The day started just after midnight in Washington with a run of posts saying Democrats were stealing California's governor and Los Angeles mayor primaries, because late mail ballots were still being counted. He came back to that charge in the afternoon, used it to push his SAVE America Act, and widened it to call American elections the most dishonest in the world. In between, he went after the House members who voted to limit his war powers on Iran and told Fox News to fire Karl Rove. Most of the afternoon went to a quick burst of before-and-after photos, headline roundups and charts about the restored Reflecting Pool and a DC fountain, along with a song clip that goes "I'm the king of my own land." The evening closed on a big DC rally announcement and thanks for approval of a "Great Triumphal Arch," so the day moved from grievance toward monuments, but the stolen-election claim never went away.
