## What the media says

> All right, a couple more things. Back to January 20th of 2025, President Trump did this, right? He set the stage for this potential compensation fund, writing that executive order, issuing the pardons, great stuff. And I like to point out from time to time, as President Trump told me, every now and then, Greg, you gotta blow your own horn or else somebody will steal your horn. We helped, we helped, and we helped President Trump. Because sometimes, you know, you wanna make sure the president is getting all the information. No one has spoken as boldly and with as much truth as you about Ashley Babbitt. It was a bad shooting. My father, can you tell me that? Anybody. That's a terrible thing. I don't know if you know this, but the Department of Justice right now is still kind of fighting that case. The family of Ashley Babbitt is suing the government, wrongful death. The DOJ right now officially is still opposing that lawsuit, trying to justify it. Shouldn't that be something that can just be settled at this point? - Well, I'll look into that. I mean, you're just telling me that for the first time. I haven't heard that. I'm a big fan of Ashley Babbitt, okay? And Ashley Babbitt was a really good person who was a big MAGA fan, Trump fan. And she was innocently standing there. They even say trying to sort of hold back the crowd. And a man did something to her that was unthinkable when he shot her. And I think it's a disgrace. I'm gonna look into that, I did not know that. - He sure did look into it. And a matter of weeks later, a settlement was reached with the estate of Ashley Babbitt for nearly $5 million. Awesome. Now we also asked President Trump about maybe a compensation fund for all the other January Sixers, right? And now here we are, right? This is being actively discussed and considered. And we were part of the, I don't know, the conversation to make this happen. I'm kind of proud of that actually. Here we are. I do want to talk about something else though that kind of escaped my scan, all right? Have you heard of Matthew Perna? Here's Matthew Perna in Happier Times, right? Great guy, beloved by his family, community. Now he was there on January 6th. He didn't hurt anybody, all right? And they threw the book at him. They treated him like a terrorist. Ultimately, he committed suicide. And I have come to believe that he is a real victim in all of this. You know, they say the January 6th cops who committed suicide, I don't buy it. So his aunt put a tweet up today that got my attention. Oh wait, I thought Michael Fanon suffered these injuries on January 6th, according to his many appearances on CNN, a heart attack, a concussion, post-traumatic stress, burns, loss of consciousness, multiple Taser industries, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. This is just one component of the story that Jerry Perna, his aunt, reminded me about Michael Fanon. This guy is out there, still being treated as a hero. If we could see his picture, please, there he is. Yet he lied, and we have incontrovertible evidence that he did, and he's still walking around a free man. This guy needs to be arrested. And so do those other Capitol Hill cops, some who testified, even some who didn't. This was a conspiracy. This was a plot to destroy a political movement. And in the process, they destroyed a lot of lives.

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-09-09T21:23:13.253Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Summary

This media-only repost (no original caption) amplifies a broadcast segment crediting Trump with securing a ~$5M wrongful-death settlement for Ashley Babbitt's estate and reviving a January 6 "compensation fund," then pivots to Matthew Perna's suicide after prosecution and an explicit call to arrest Michael Fanone and unnamed Capitol Police officers, framed as participants in a "conspiracy... to destroy a political movement."

No original text exists to assess stylometrically; the analyzable behavior is selection and amplification. The content functions as solicited narcissistic supply (direct on-air flattery, a hero narrative crediting Trump as sole causal agent) paired with a binary victim/villain schema (Babbitt and Perna idealized as innocent; Fanone and police witnesses devalued as liars and conspirators) — a pattern consistent with splitting.

The clip's explicit call to arrest a named private citizen, plus unnamed testifying officers, absent due-process qualification, is elevated-risk amplification, though attenuated because the words originate with the interviewer rather than Trump himself, and no dehumanizing or violent language appears.

Timing (~9:00 AM Eastern) falls in Trump's typical business-hours posting window, offering weak, low-confidence evidence only regarding who selected the clip — not who wrote or spoke its content. No factual claims are attributed to Trump directly; the substantive assertions (DOJ litigation posture, Fanone's alleged injury exaggeration) are the broadcaster's, not his own statements, so no fact-check entries are warranted from this post.

## Overview

This post carries no original text from the subject — it is a bare video repost of a Real America's Voice–style segment (interviewer, likely Greg Kelly, narrating over B-roll) recounting: (1) the ~$5 million wrongful-death settlement paid to Ashley Babbitt's estate after Trump personally intervened following an on-air prompt; (2) renewed advocacy for a January 6 "compensation fund"; (3) the story of Matthew Perna, a January 6 defendant who died by suicide after prosecution; and (4) a direct call for the arrest of Michael Fanone and unnamed "Capitol Hill cops," alleging a "conspiracy" and "plot to destroy a political movement."

Because there is no accompanying caption, the analyzable behavior is *selection and amplification*, not composition. Trump chose to put in front of his audience a segment that (a) flatters him directly and repeatedly ("no one has spoken as boldly and with as much truth"), (b) narrates him as the decisive hero who fixed an injustice once informed of it, and (c) names a private citizen and calls for his arrest on the interviewer's say-so rather than due process. The clip is fully propositional (not music/ambient), so the analysis is not artificially thinned, but every substantive claim ("DOJ opposing the lawsuit," "Fanone lied," "this was a conspiracy") is voiced by the interviewer, not by Trump, whose own quoted lines in the clip are older, reactive ("I'll look into that," "I think it's a disgrace") rather than new factual assertions.

## Level 1 — Dispositional Traits
No stylometric evidence exists for this post (no original text). Trait inference rests solely on selection behavior, a weak proxy: choosing to amplify grievance-laden, hostility-charged content toward named adversaries (Fanone, Capitol officers, DOJ) is broadly consistent with the angry-hostility facet of Neuroticism and low tender-mindedness in the interpersonal domain, but confidence is low given the indirect evidentiary basis. No claims are made here about vocabulary, syntax, or punctuation, since none originate with the subject.

## Level 2 — Characteristic Adaptations
**Agency motives** dominate the selection: the clip casts Trump as the causal agent behind a $5 million settlement and a prospective January 6 compensation fund ("he sure did look into it"), gratifying achievement/power motives via a "I fixed it once informed" schema, and via direct flattery ("blow your own horn") that functions as solicited narcissistic supply. **Schema of others**: adversaries (DOJ, Capitol Police officers, Fanone) are cast as liars and conspirators; allies (Babbitt, Perna, the interviewer) are cast as innocent, wronged, or loyal. This is a binary in-group/out-group schema with little middle ground.

## Level 3 — Narrative Identity
**Protagonist role**: rescuer/vindicator — informed of an injustice, he "looks into it," and a settlement follows; the segment explicitly credits him as origin ("President Trump did this... he set the stage"). **Redemption sequence**: January 6 prosecutions (bad) → executive orders, pardons, settlement, prospective compensation fund (good), with Trump as engine of the turn. **Contrasting others**: Michael Fanone and unnamed Capitol Police officers are constructed as the shadow figures — dishonest, self-serving, complicit in a "conspiracy" to "destroy a political movement." **Identity claim reinforced by amplification**: defender of the "real victims" of January 6 (Babbitt, Perna) against a corrupt system.

## Level 4 — Clinical Indicators

**Malignant narcissism features:**
- *Narcissistic*: moderate-high. The clip is saturated with direct flattery of Trump personally and with a self-mythologizing account of him as the singular actor who "fixed" an injustice once informed — content he selected to circulate to his own audience, consistent with active supply-seeking.
- *Antisocial*: elevated. By amplifying a call to arrest a named private citizen (Fanone) and unnamed police officers based on a broadcaster's assertions rather than adjudicated fact, the post signals disregard for due process and rights, even though the words are not his own.
- *Paranoid*: elevated. The segment frames institutional actors (DOJ, Capitol Police) as part of a "conspiracy" and "plot," a persecutory frame Trump amplifies without qualification by reposting it.
- *Sadism*: low-moderate. No overt relish in suffering is present in the clip itself, though there is evident satisfaction in a former adversary (Fanone) being publicly targeted.

**Trigger**: best characterized as supply-seeking/maintenance — routine amplification of favorable, self-mythologizing coverage rather than a reactive response to acute injury. No evidence of a proximate narcissistic injury in the surrounding week's events specific to this clip's content.

**Narcissistic state**: predominantly grandiose (self as effective, vindicated protagonist), with an admixture of victim narrative on behalf of in-group figures (Babbitt, Perna) rather than himself.

**Defense mechanisms**: Splitting is the most salient mechanism evident in the amplified content — Babbitt/Perna as wholly innocent victims, Fanone/officers as wholly deceitful conspirators, with no acknowledgment of ambiguity on either side. Idealization (of Babbitt, Perna, himself) and devaluation (of Fanone, DOJ, "Capitol Hill cops") operate in tandem. Because the language is not his own, these are best read as mechanisms evident in the *selected content* and endorsed by amplification, not confirmed as his own defensive style from this post alone.

## Rhetorical & Propaganda Techniques (as amplified)
- Hyperbole/absolutism ("no one has spoken as boldly," "incontrovertible evidence")
- Ad hominem (Fanone as liar who "needs to be arrested")
- False dichotomy (innocent MAGA victims vs. corrupt system actors)
- Appeal to martyrdom/nostalgia (Perna "in happier times")
- Conspiracy framing ("this was a conspiracy... a plot to destroy a political movement")
- Delegitimization of institutional accountability testimony (discrediting Capitol Police witnesses broadly, including "some who didn't" testify)

## Danger Assessment
Elevated. The clip names a specific private citizen (Michael Fanone) and calls for his arrest, and extends that call to unnamed "Capitol Hill cops" who testified about January 6, framed as participants in a "conspiracy." This is target-plus-grievance-plus-implied-action structure, though the call for action originates with the interviewer, not Trump's own words, and no explicit call to mobilize followers is present. Not rated "high" or "critical" because the incitement is one level removed (amplification of another's call) and no explicit violent language or dehumanizing terms are used.

## Authorship Attribution
No stylometric evidence is available since the post contains no original text — only a media attachment. Attribution rests entirely on timing and posting-pattern evidence: 13:00:55 UTC converts to approximately 9:00 AM Eastern (assuming his customary Washington/Mar-a-Lago base, with no contrary travel signal in the surrounding week's events), which falls within his typical business-hours posting window rather than the late-night/early-morning pattern more associated with spontaneous, unassisted posting. This is weak, indirect evidence only, and the determination concerns *who selected this clip for posting*, not who wrote or spoke any of its content — no words in this post originate with the subject. Confidence is capped at low accordingly.

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**Trump calls off a "scheduled" Iran strike at the request of three Gulf rulers, five hours after mocking how the press would cover an Iranian surrender**

Trump spent the day before a big round of Republican primaries at the White House. He put out a long run of nearly identical endorsements, one every minute or two, while hammering Kentucky congressman Thomas Massie from mid-morning into the evening. Massie came up in his own posts, in videos, and in a repeated share of a Laura Loomer interview with Massie's ex-girlfriend. In the middle of all this he announced that he had called off a planned military attack on Iran because the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE asked him to wait. He kept a full-scale assault on the table. The tone was boastful and combative more than angry, the posting stayed within normal waking hours, and the day closed with a shared argument that presidents don't need Congress's permission to go to war.
