> Screenshot of a text/iMessage-style conversation with a contact named "Marty Makary" (avatar shows a purple circle with the letter "M"). The message is a resignation letter/statement addressed to "Dr. President Trump," listing accomplishments as FDA Commissioner, submitting a resignation effective immediately, and signing off as Marty Makary M.D., M.P.H.

Text in the image: "Marty Makary Dr. President Trump, Please accept my resignation, effective today. During my tenure, I announced 50 major FDA reforms. Joe Biden's FDA had none. I'm extremely proud that we reduced drug review times from a year to 1-2 months, wrote new guidance to advance psychedelics, introduced a new "plausible mechanism" pathway for rare disease drugs, and changed estrogen labels to tell women the truth about menopausal hormone replacement. It's been the honor of a lifetime to serve as your FDA Commissioner. I am forever grateful. Respectfully, Marty Makary M.D., M.P.H."

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**On the day he left for Beijing, Trump called reporting on Iran's military strength "virtual TREASON"**

The day started in the middle of a late-night posting binge before his trip to China. In under an hour he pushed out a stream of video clips about Obama, the Russia investigation and the 2020 election, many of them reposts of his own earlier material. After a short night he went after the New York Times over its story on the Reflecting Pool, posting the same attack twice. Just before leaving he put up a batch of memes: Iranian boats being destroyed, himself on a $100 bill, Democrats sitting in sewage. Late in the afternoon came the sharpest post of the day, calling news reports that Iran was holding up militarily "virtual treason" by "American cowards." In the evening he posted a "51st State" Venezuela graphic and an Uncle Sam "I WANT YOU!", then went back to the pool one more time.
