## What the media says

**Video transcript** (5:18), transcribed automatically, so names and numbers may be wrong. Speakers aren't identified, so a voice in it may not be his:

> I mean, I am one of many American conservatives who found him to be pretty repugnant when he first came on the scene in 2016, when the way that he talks, the way that he does negotiation, the way that he talks about war and peace, and life and death is sometimes overly strong. But what Donald Trump has done around the entire world is he has asked for people to advocate for themselves, actually stand up for themselves, and fight, fight, fight. That is his whole thing. And when you look at someone like Marco Rubio. Although to be clear, when it came to January the 6th, he didn't say fight, fight, fight. That's what we're going to be seeing in trouble, but carry on. But no, that's what he said when he got shot in the year. He got shot in the year, he stood up and yelled fight, fight, fight. Yeah, good point. But when you look at what he did with Marco Rubio, Marco Rubio was one of his foils in 2016. He was a good conservative, a good boy, but he was a squish, and he rolled right over him. According to Marco Rubio today, Donald Trump has taught him how to fight and how to stand up for himself and dismantle people in an argument. And he wants that from Europe. He wants that from the UK. He wants these people to be allies who will defend themselves and be pugnacious and willing to fight like Netanyahu does. Do you know what it is? I think he smells confidence. He smells confidence across the room. I was there today in that cabinet room. It was amazing. What an honor. What an privilege to be amongst those phenomenal human beings there. And you can see him look across the room and he gravitates towards people who he thinks are happy in their own skin. You don't see it at all, do you? Well, I think President Trump certainly has a lot of powerful political characteristics. He has had an ability to message and drive a message that I haven't seen really in any politician, for the exception of President Obama, if you look at the two seminal political figures of Stephen and I's lifetime, or like just the last 50 years, it would be President Obama and President Trump. I would say this though, I think sometimes the skills that get you where you are can also be the skills that lead to your downfall. And his ability to dig in and fight on things is certainly a skill that was able to get him back into the White House. But I also think they're missing a key point here, which is the Iran war is unpopular. There's a lot of talk about, well, what does the MAGA base think about it? Well, the MAGA base is 25, 30% of the entire US population. Look at the broader polling. The broader polling shows that this war is very unpopular. And the issue Trump has is that to accomplish the objectives he says he wants accomplished, taking out the regime and getting rid of the nuclear program, hold on, taking out the regime or getting rid of the nuclear program is going to require boots on the ground, something he campaigned against, and it would be a major escalation. And then even if we get rid of the regime, that is going to open up a huge box of issues. And every week that goes by where we don't have an end to this war, the economic pain is going to mount. And a recent Reuters poll showed that the Americans are more unhappy with this economy now under Trump than they were with Biden. So I think the Trump administration and President Trump needs to take a step back and see digging in their heels and fighting on every topic might not be the right strategy. Yeah, but that point about them wanting to change the regime, they have been crystal clear that that is not their aim. Hang on, hang on. Caroline Levitt said in the briefing room yesterday when she was asked about that, she said, "Of course, we want somebody in charge who is more favorable, who doesn't chance death to America." She said, "Of course we would want that." But she said their entire leadership has changed, but it is too soon to say if we will be happy with the new regime. Well, Bev, I would say I was on the show with you for the six hours, I don't know how you did it, when this war started. And GB News platformed a ton of guests who were in favor of this war, and they didn't have a fetish for destroying the Navy. What they wanted to do, and they repeatedly said, was regime change. GB News interviewed a ton of people who talked about how we need to get rid of this regime, and the Trump administration parroted that line, and they talked about getting rid of the nuclear program. Now, what's going to happen is the Trump administration might need to claim that getting rid of their Navy is the only thing they wanted to do, because that's the best way to back out. There's minor success, and then there's total success. Minor success with Chuck Schumer got himself into trouble when he couldn't articulate this on Morning Joe. The Senate Majority Leader of the Democrats was asked, "Would it be a good thing if Iran had no naval or military capacity at the end of this thing?" And he was like, "Well, we can't really say, because we don't know what's going to happen." No, it is actually just... Because he's a Democrat. It is just a good thing that Iran is feckless and weak compared to its neighbors. Not just Israel, but the Qataris, the Emiratis, the Saudis, none of these people actually like the Iranian regime, it's good that they are completely decimated militarily. But the total victory, of course, would be regime change, and regime change can either be a change of heart within the regime, that they're going to act differently, or the Iranian people install leaders that might bring them back to the days before the Iranian Revolution.

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-09-09T12:42:57.317Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Summary

This post carries no original text; the subject shared a panel-discussion clip that is genuinely mixed in valence — one speaker praises his dominance-instilling political style (teaching Rubio and allies to "fight"), while another directly criticizes the Iran war's unpopularity, the improbability of achieving stated war aims without "boots on the ground" (a reversed campaign promise), and worsening economic sentiment versus the Biden era. No caption was added to filter, rebut, or frame either portion. The clinically relevant observation is behavioral: continued amplification of combat/dominance framing consistent with a long-documented Warrior self-schema and status-oriented motive structure, paired with a comparison to Obama as a historically significant figure (mild supply-seeking signal). Notably, the clip's unrebutted inclusion of substantive criticism of his war strategy and economic standing argues against tight grandiose narrative control on this occasion, suggesting partial engagement or reflexive sharing rather than deliberate image curation. Posting occurred at approximately 5:23 AM Eastern, within the subject's well-documented authentic early-morning posting window, weakly favoring self-directed sharing, though with no text to analyze stylometrically this attribution is necessarily low-confidence. No rage, dehumanization, danger indicators, gaslighting, or reality distortion are present. Overall clinical significance is low; this entry is included for completeness given the mixed-content selection pattern rather than any marked deviation from baseline.

## Analysis: Truth Social post ts_116311734865111326 (2026-03-29)

**Nature of the post.** No original text; the subject shared a cable-news-style panel segment (multiple speakers, apparently a UK-inflected outlet given references to "the UK" and a "Bev") discussing his political style, the Iran war, and public approval. The transcript is mixed valence: one panelist frames him flatteringly ("he smells confidence," taught Rubio to "fight," pushes allies toward "pugnacious" self-assertion, compares him to Obama as one of the two "seminal political figures" of the last 50 years); a second panelist pushes back sharply — the Iran war is "very unpopular," achieving the stated war aims "would require boots on the ground" (a promise he "campaigned against"), and a Reuters poll shows economic discontent exceeding Biden-era levels. Because this content originates from third-party speakers, none of it is attributed to the subject as his own assertion. The analyzable behavior is the choice to amplify a segment substantively split between flattery and pointed criticism of his war strategy and economic standing.

**Selection/amplification reading.** Sharing a clip containing direct criticism of his "fight, fight, fight" posture and warnings about Iran-war unpopularity is notable and somewhat atypical of pure self-promotion. Plausible readings (low confidence, no framing text provided): (1) engagement with only the flattering opening (Rubio/confidence/Obama-comparison) before sharing, with the critical back-half unwatched or disregarded; (2) reflexive media-monitoring share without full review; (3) the flattering through-line (fighter archetype, allies "gravitate" toward him, Obama-tier significance) is dominant enough in his own reading to outweigh the embedded critique. No caption was added to rebut or contextualize the critical portion — itself informative, since a more strategically disciplined actor might have trimmed the clip or added rebuttal text.

**Timing/authorship.** Posted 2026-03-29T09:23:47Z. Iran-war-period reporting places the subject in the Washington/Mar-a-Lago orbit, both U.S. Eastern; EDT (UTC-4, in effect after the March 8 change) converts this to approximately 5:23 AM local. Very early-morning posting is consistent with his documented authentic-hours pattern. However, with no written text there is no stylometric evidence (no typos, phrasing, capitalization, or syntax to examine), so this attribution rests on timing alone and reflects who likely selected/posted the clip, not who "wrote" anything — there is nothing written to attribute.

**Psychological/clinical framing.** Because the post carries no self-generated language, most trait- and defense-level inferences are unsupported; scores below are set near-neutral/low-confidence rather than manufactured from a single data point. The most defensible read is characterological: continued engagement with combat/dominance framing ("fight, fight, fight," "pugnacious," "smells confidence") aligns with a long-documented agentic, power/status-oriented motive structure and a Warrior archetype self-conception, and the choice to amplify praise that explicitly ties his '"legacy" to Obama's suggests appetite for historic-stature validation (narcissistic supply-seeking, low-moderate confidence). No rage, no grandiose assertions in his own voice, no dehumanizing language, and no danger indicators are present. The presence of unrebutted criticism in the shared clip argues against a purely grandiose-defensive read (a maximally image-controlling actor would not amplify content warning that "digging in their heels... might not be the right strategy") and is more consistent with light-touch or incomplete media curation than deliberate narrative management.

**Fact-check note.** No claims are attributed to the subject himself in this transcript; all substantive assertions (war unpopularity, Reuters poll findings, campaign-promise characterization) are third-party panelist statements and are excluded from `factChecks` per instructions, though the Reuters-poll claim about economic sentiment exceeding Biden-era discontent is plausible directionally given documented economic strain during a prolonged war footing, and is discussed here rather than scored.

**Summary judgment.** This is a thin-evidence post: a shared broadcast clip with genuinely mixed content and no authorial framing. The most defensible conclusions are behavioral (selection of a segment that is net-favorable but not filtered for criticism) and temporal (early-morning posting consistent with authentic personal use), not diagnostic.

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**Three video clips posted twice each before dawn, one of them his own "I aced it all three times" boast**

He posted eleven times, but only one post had words he wrote: a short call to replace ObamaCare with payments made "directly to THE PEOPLE." Most of the day was borrowed material. Around dawn he put up a 2019 congressional hearing clip defending him on the Mueller report, a panel discussion about him, and a recording of his own speech. Each of the three videos went up twice within a minute. The only sharp moment was that speech, where he calls Democrats a party that will "destroy our country" and says he aced his cognitive test. Later he shared an October letter from Franklin Graham praising him and, in the evening, a news report on a criminal referral against New York Attorney General Letitia James. While the news was full of possible ground raids in Iran, his only Iran post was a late-night screenshot about ships getting through the Strait of Hormuz.
