## What the media says

**Video transcript** (2:52), transcribed automatically, so names and numbers may be wrong. Speakers aren't identified, so a voice in it may not be his:

> For 47 years, the Iranian regime has regularly targeted and killed Americans. And while Democrats talk tough on Iran, they sought no action. In 2008, before becoming Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton said she would attack Iran if president. If Iran were to launch a nuclear attack on Israel, what would our response be? And I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran. Whatever stage of development they might be in their nuclear weapons program in the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them. Of course that never happened. She lost the nomination to Barack Obama, who instead sought to make a deal with Iran. Over the years, Iran moved closer and closer to having the ability to build a nuclear weapon. President and I decided that a strong, confident America could advance our national security by engaging directly with the Iranian government. But a week after Obama said that, John Kerry admitted that the Iran nuclear deal would give money to terrorists. You believe that any of that $55 billion ends up in the hands of terrorists? I think that some of it will end up in the hands of the IRGC or of other entities, some of which are labeled terrorists. We'll fast forward to 2022, when President Biden's press secretary said Iran was accelerating its nuclear program. Iran has rapidly accelerated its nuclear program and reduced cooperation with international inspectors in nonperformance of Iran nuclear deal commitments. Their breakout period is down from about a year, which is what we knew it was during the deal, to just a few weeks or less. But all Biden said was don't, and a couple months later, Obama admitted he made mistakes with Iran by not helping activists on the ground more. And in retrospect, I think that was a mistake. Every time we see a flash, a glimmer of hope, of people longing for freedom, I think we have to point it out. We have to shine a spotlight on it. We have to express some solidarity about it. Well, now, today, it's President Trump who sought action while Iran is trying to talk tough. Are you afraid of a U.S. invasion in your country? No, we are waiting for them. You are waiting for the U.S. military to invade the ground troops? Yes, because we are confident that we can confront them, and that would be a big disaster for them. Maybe he missed President Trump taking out the ayatollah along with 49 others before out those counting votes for the next Ayatollah.

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-09-09T12:08:21.333Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Overview

This post carries no original text from the subject — it is a single video, an edited compilation/campaign-style ad contrasting Democratic rhetoric on Iran (Hillary Clinton 2008, Obama, Kerry, Biden's press secretary) against footage/narration crediting Trump with decisive military action against Iran, closing with a claim that Trump "took out the ayatollah along with 49 others." All propositional content in the transcript is spoken by a narrator/interviewer/quoted politicians, not by Trump. The analyzable behavior is therefore the *selection and amplification* of this clip, not any language he authored.

## Level 1-3: Selection as self-presentation

The chosen video constructs a redemption-of-toughness narrative: decades of Democratic "talk" (Clinton's 2008 threat to "obliterate" Iran, Obama's diplomacy, Biden's inaction) are cast as failure, culminating in Trump's action as vindication. This is consistent with a longstanding pattern (seen in the same-day posts about Iran's "surrender" and "Thank you President Trump") of casting himself as the Warrior/Hero archetype whose decisive violence succeeds where predecessors' words failed. The contrasting other is explicitly the Democratic foreign-policy establishment. Splitting is evident in the ad's binary framing (weak talkers vs. the one who acted), which the subject chose to amplify rather than author.

## Context and possible function

This post lands two days after DOJ release of Epstein-related sexual-assault allegation documents (2026-03-05) and amid mounting media scrutiny over shifting, contradictory Iran war justifications. Amplifying a triumphant, action-hero war narrative at this moment is plausibly functioning as distraction/narrative control, though this is inferential — no direct causal link is stated in the post itself.

## Authorship

No stylometric signal exists (no written text). Posting time is 17:35 UTC ≈ 12:35 PM ET (Washington/New York, EST in early March, pre-DST), squarely business hours — weakly favoring staff scheduling of polished campaign-style media, but this only speaks to who selected/queued the clip, not who wrote any words, and confidence is capped low per instructions.

## Danger assessment

Elevated: the amplified content includes celebratory framing of lethal military action against a foreign head of state ("took out the ayatollah along with 49 others") and echoes of "obliterate" rhetoric. This is selection/amplification behavior rather than the subject's own eliminationist speech, so it does not reach "high," but it is a notable choice to promote content celebrating killing a foreign leader during an active war.

## Authorship Analysis

**Uncertain** (score: 40%)

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**A fabricated Iranian surrender, announced in the same post that widened the target list**

Trump posted 18 times across the day, opening the night before with a rapid run of seven Justice Department wanted posters from a Memphis task force and closing the next afternoon with a public dressing-down of the British prime minister. The center of it was one early-morning post declaring that Iran had apologized and surrendered — it hadn't — while announcing in the same breath that the U.S. would begin hitting targets and "groups of people" it hadn't considered before. The rest was comparatively quiet: a hockey team, a Dover Air Force Base trip to receive fallen service members, a few shared links, a demand that the Senate pass his bill. He slept a full night and posted at an ordinary pace with the day's gaps falling where his scheduled events were, so the concern here isn't volume or agitation, it's what that single post said. By late afternoon the victory he'd declared had soured into a grievance that allies were arriving too late to matter.
