## Post text

> The supreme court (will be using lower case letters for a while based on a complete lack of respect!) of the United States accidentally and unwittingly gave me, as President of the United States, far more powers and strength than I had prior to their ridiculous, dumb, and very internationally divisive ruling. For one thing, I can use Licenses to do absolutely "terrible" things to foreign countries, especially those countries that have been RIPPING US OFF for many decades, but incomprehensibly, according to the ruling, can't charge them a License fee - BUT ALL LICENSES CHARGE FEES, why can't the United States do so? You do a license to get a fee! The opinion doesn't explain that, but I know the answer! The court has also approved all other Tariffs, of which their are many, and they can all be used in a much more powerful and obnoxious way, with legal certainty, than the Tariffs as initially used. Our incompetent supreme court did a great job for the wrong people, and for that they should be ashamed of themselves (but not the Great Three!). The next thing you know they will rule in favor of China and others, who are making an absolute fortune on Birthright Citizenship, by saying the 14th Amendment was NOT written to take care of the "babies of slaves," which it was as proven by the EXACT TIMING of its construction, filing, and ratification, which perfectly coincided with the END OF THE CIVIL WAR. How much better can you do than that? But this supreme court will find a way to come to the wrong conclusion, one that again will make China, and various other Nations, happy and rich. Let our supreme court keep making decisions that are so bad and deleterious to the future of our Nation - I have a job to do. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-03-22T07:36:34.639Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Summary

This post is a psychologically significant response to the Supreme Court's 6-3 ruling striking down IEEPA tariffs — one of Trump's most consequential legal defeats. The response exhibits a textbook narcissistic injury cycle: devalue the source (deliberate lowercase "supreme court," calling justices incompetent), distort reality (reframe the defeat as secretly granting more power), split (idealize "the Great Three" dissenters, devalue the majority), and escalate (threaten "more powerful and obnoxious" use of remaining authority).

The institutional delegitimization is notable. Withholding capitalization as punishment, questioning the court's competence, and framing their decisions as serving foreign adversaries (China) all work to erode judicial authority in followers' eyes. The preemptive attack on the forthcoming birthright citizenship ruling signals intent to delegitimize that outcome before it arrives.

The core reality distortion — that a devastating legal loss actually expanded his power — represents pathological-level distortion defense. The muddled legal argument about "licenses" and fees suggests either genuine confusion about the ruling's implications or deliberate obfuscation for audience consumption.

The danger indicators are elevated but not critical: systematic delegitimization of the judicial branch, implicit signals of intent to circumvent rulings, and framing constitutional checks as foreign-serving betrayal. The closing "I have a job to do" suggests he views the court as an obstacle to work around rather than a binding authority. This warrants longitudinal monitoring for escalation.

# Psychological Analysis: Post ts_116119845947410324

## Context
Posted at 7:03 AM ET on February 23, 2026, from likely Mar-a-Lago (Trump was in Georgia the prior day for a rally but would have returned). This is a direct response to the Supreme Court's 6-3 ruling in *Learning Resources v. Trump* striking down IEEPA tariffs — a major legal defeat invalidating over $175 billion in tariff collections.

## Authorship Attribution: Authentic Trump (0.92)
Early morning timing, grammatical error ("their are many"), stream-of-consciousness structure, emotional reactivity, ALL CAPS passages, scare quotes, and parenthetical asides all strongly indicate personal composition.

## Psychological State: Mixed Grandiose-Vulnerable Narcissism
The post oscillates between grandiose reframing ("gave me far more powers") and vulnerable persecution ("incompetent supreme court," institutions working against America). This mixed state is characteristic of acute narcissistic injury where the subject cannot fully commit to either pole.

## Trigger: Narcissistic Injury (Defeat)
A 6-3 Supreme Court ruling represents an unambiguous, public, institutional rejection of executive authority — one of the most potent triggers for narcissistic rage in a power-motivated individual.

## Defense Mechanism Cascade
1. **Distortion** (pathological): The entire premise — that losing expanded his power — is a gross reshaping of reality
2. **Devaluation** (immature): Lowercase "supreme court," "ridiculous, dumb," "incompetent"
3. **Splitting** (immature): "Great Three" vs. the devalued majority
4. **Rationalization** (neurotic): Elaborate but muddled legal argument about licenses

## Rhetorical Analysis
The deliberate lowercase "supreme court" is a novel dominance technique — orthographic punishment. The parenthetical explanation "(will be using lower case letters for a while based on a complete lack of respect!)" frames this as a conscious, ongoing campaign of institutional devaluation. The pivot from tariffs to birthright citizenship to China creates a firehose effect that obscures the actual defeat.

## Danger Assessment: Elevated
The post systematically delegitimizes the judicial branch, frames constitutional rulings as serving foreign adversaries, and signals intent to circumvent ("I have a job to do"). While not containing direct calls to action or eliminationist language, the pattern of institutional erosion warrants monitoring.

## Fact Verification

| Claim | Verdict | Evidence |
|-------|---------|----------|
| "The Supreme Court ruling gave him more powers than before" | **False** | The 6-3 ruling in Learning Resources v. Trump struck down IEEPA tariffs, removing a major tool of executive trade policy |
| "The court approved all other Tariffs" | **Mostly False** | The ruling specifically invalidated IEEPA-based tariffs; other tariff authorities exist but were not 'approved' by this ruling |
| "The 14th Amendment was written for 'babies of slaves' as proven by timing with end of Civil War" | **Half True** | The 14th Amendment (1868) was indeed a Reconstruction amendment addressing citizenship for formerly enslaved people, but its citizenship clause was deliberately written broadly and has been consistently interpreted to apply to all persons born on US soil |

Overall Veracity: 23%

> "The 14th Amendment was written for 'babies of slaves' as proven by timing with end of Civil War"

**vs.**

> "The 14th Amendment had everything to do with giving Citizenship to former slaves"

The source specifically says the 14th Amendment was written for 'babies of slaves' (their children, birthright citizenship), while this candidate says it was written for 'former slaves' themselves — two meaningfully different beneficiary groups. Both serve the same rhetorical purpose (excluding modern immigrants), but the factual claim about who the amendment targeted is inconsistent.

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**He demoted the "supreme court" to lowercase, then threatened higher tariffs than the ones it had just struck down**

Trump spent the day still chewing on the Supreme Court ruling that struck down his tariffs three days earlier, and by early morning he was announcing he would write "supreme court" in lowercase until further notice. He insisted the loss had actually handed him more power, then threatened any country that tries to "play games" with the decision with even steeper tariffs — while his administration quietly signed a proclamation routing around the ruling under a different law. The middle of the day was a burst of borrowed praise: Border Patrol union endorsements, Fox segments, a Florida campaign announcement. He resurfaced after a six-hour afternoon silence to publicly correct reports that his top general opposes war with Iran, then closed on a friendly note about saving Utah's Great Salt Lake. A poll putting his approval at a record low, a blizzard shutting down New York, and a canal-ports win in Panama all went unmentioned.
