## What the media says

**Video transcript** (12:56), transcribed automatically, so names and numbers may be wrong. Speakers aren't identified, so a voice in it may not be his:

> And for years, Trump supporters, patriots like I imagine many of you at home, but also people who just love your families and your country have been told that you're garbage or that you're deplorable, which is maybe the most liberal description I've ever heard. Deplorable is just not a word you typically hear from conservative America. So there's that. But for years now, many of the most powerful Democrats in the country have said this about you, and everyone on the left pretends that this is normal behavior, which of course it's not. I'll work as hard for those who don't support me as those who do, including those chumps of the microphone out there. You could put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters. Donald Trump's got this big rally going at Madison Square Garden. There's a direct parallel to a big rally that happened in the mid-1930s at Madison Square Garden. The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it. They have become a cult to a thug. Should make you mad. Think about what the right has been called on an almost daily basis for more than 10 years. Deplorables, garbage, chumps, fascists, extremists, Nazis, racists, Islamophobic. That's the new one. Sexists, white supremacists. These are awful people, and I mean that honestly. And they say all of this because you support Donald Trump. You might not even like Donald Trump, but you voted for him because maybe you liked his policies, and that should be okay. Either way, all of that should be okay. Think about that. But you were called all of that because you voted for someone and because of what you value, who you are, and what you care about. Sorry, but don't fight with federal agents, and you won't get shot. It's pretty simple. It shouldn't be controversial to say that, and I'm sorry if I don't think that criminals who have no legal or moral right to be in this country aren't my neighbors. I don't want them as neighbors. Sorry if I support deportation. This is our country, and it shouldn't be controversial to say that. And it was the same thing on January 6th, a false flag operation probably, but also a day that was not a good one for Republicans. We can say that, but it was also a protest that lasted for four hours, and it was over. And even the most serious critics of January 6th, the insurrection, will admit that in their private moments, even Democrats. At its core, it was a group of Americans fighting on behalf of a cause that we should all still be fighting for, free, fair, honest elections. That shouldn't be controversial, where people show up to vote with an ID instead of mail-in ballots and drop boxes and all of that COVID crap that was put in place that never should have been put in place in the first place. We were told January 6th was a threat to our democracy. We're told that every week, every day. Was it? How? Could somebody explain how it was a threat to our democracy? Seriously, how was it a threat to our democracy? And then compare that to what we've seen in Minnesota, not for four hours, for more than four months, for years, if you want to go back to George Floyd, who's now the patron saint of Minneapolis, St. George. So who's the real threat to democracy? And I mean that seriously. The January 6th protesters, rioters, or the people destroying property and businesses and hotels and attacking federal agents on an almost daily basis, the people trying to run over federal agents, all in the name of foreign criminals who have no legal right to be in this country. People pushing this country into a civil war. That's how serious this is. People destroying the social fabric of this nation. So I'll ask it again. Who is the real threat to our democracy? I'll let you decide at home. But according to Democrats in Washington and in the media, January 6th was a day that we almost lost America, which is utterly preposterous, utterly preposterous. But you won't hear a single Democrat condemning what's happening in America right now in an American city day after day after day. Just this week, three Democrat presidents all came out in support of the chaos in Minneapolis and the rioting on behalf of foreign criminals, which is very ironic because all three of these presidents also supported exactly what Donald Trump is doing in Minnesota at one point in their careers. All Americans, not only in the states most heavily affected, but in every place in this country are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. We all agree on the need to better secure the border and to punish employers who choose to hire illegal immigrants. The reason that cities ignore the federal law is the fact that there is no funding at the federal level to provide for the kind of enforcement of the federal level you need. Senator Biden, yes or no, would you allow the cities to ignore the federal law? No. No. These three men, these three actors should be applauding what Donald Trump is doing right now, but they can't because it's Donald Trump and Donald Trump is evil according to the left. And now Democrats are back to using their favorite word again and again and again. Kristi Noem must be impeached. In the event that she is not terminated, we are prepared to initiate impeachment proceedings against her. Kristi Noem should resign, and if she doesn't, Congress shouldn't teach her. Fine, be fired, or be impeached. Kristi Noem has disgraced herself. More than 162 House Democrats have called for impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, okay? And Republicans like Tom Tillis and Lisa Murkowski have joined that group siding with Democrats, which is even more cowardly because none of them mentioned impeachment during the four years of Joe Biden. We didn't hear any of these people calling for the commander in sleep or his circus act of an administration to face impeachment no matter what they did. Think about that. Alejandro Mayorkas let in more than 15 million foreign nationals. He let them cross the border with impunity. They came into this country, gang members, rapists, murderers, and to this day, we still have no idea who they are or where they are. People from over 100 different countries with no skills, no jobs, no plan for a job. Most don't speak English, most don't care. And some are good people, sure. But does that really matter? Why are they here? And think about the Americans who've lost their lives because of Alejandro Mayorkas, and they fought to keep him in power. This impeachment is baseless. It is unconstitutional, and it should be defeated. Impeaching a cabinet member without any evidence of high crimes or misdemeanors, that is the breach of public trust. Let's be clear, Secretary Mayorkas is a good man, a patriotic man, and a hardworking man doing the best he can. Is it patriotic to let 15 million foreign nationals into your country? I don't think that's patriotic. I actually think that's the opposite of patriotism. Nobody said a word about impeaching Alejandro Mayorkas, but now Democrats are calling for Kristi Noem, who took over for Mayorkas to be impeached because she's trying to clean up his mess, and that can be messy. Sorry. It can be messy arresting people. It was the same thing for Lloyd Austin, our secretary of defense under Joe Biden, the man responsible for the Afghanistan withdrawal, Afghanis hanging off American planes as they took off in Kabul. This is Joe Biden's legacy. Here's Lloyd Austin for you. Billions of dollars in US military equipment, ammunition left behind. It's now in the hands of terrorists. Bagram fell. The US embassy fell. America lost Kabul and lost Afghanistan. 13 American soldiers were killed at Abbey Gate, a military failure that we haven't seen in generations, not since the Vietnam War, but somehow Lloyd gets to keep his job. The historic evacuation of 120,000 people was remarkable, and I commend the administration for that, but it was remarkable, even though it got off to a hazy start. Nancy, a hazy start? That's your career right there, a hazy start. 13 Americans were killed. Also Joe Biden could get us out of Afghanistan before the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, all because we elected a president with dementia. He didn't know what he was doing. Neither did Lloyd. Neither does Nancy. And not only that, not only did they lose Americans, but Democrats were proud of it. They celebrated it. Just like they were proud of Merrick Garland, the first attorney general in the history of our country to weaponize the Department of Justice and target a former American president, Donald Trump. For the first time in our nation's history, this never happened before. After Merrick Garland, four Trump indictments, 90 charges, the raid on Mar-Lago, all orchestrated by this guy right here, Merrick Garland. It should make you mad. Against Joe Biden's political opponents and Democrats celebrated literally like he was some kind of hero. My wife treats me like that when I take the trash out. But seriously, has anybody ever clapped for you like that? My goodness, this guy is a total disaster, and people are clapping for him, and they're clapping because that was thought of right then in that moment as mission accomplished. But no matter what Joe Biden or his cabinet did, Democrats stayed united behind him. There's a lesson there, because Republicans never do this. Republicans, they just, as soon as the going gets tough, they literally get going. Lisa Murkowski. No matter what happened, a four-year period, unlike anything we've seen before, and Democrats supported their intrepid leader. And now because of Alex Priddy, the anti-ice activist, with a history of screwing around with federal agents, who had a loaded gun with 60 rounds of ammunition and fought with federal agents, because of that guy Republicans are now turning on Republicans. I think that what she's done in Minnesota should be disqualifying, she should be out of her job. I mean, really, it's just amateurish, it's terrible, it's making the president look bad on policies that he won on a strong message about immigration. And now nobody's talking about that. They're not talking about securing the border, they're talking about the incompetence of the leader of Homeland Security and the other people, the Vino, whatever his name is, he needs to go back to California, get his retirement papers in government. These people are amateurs. Okay, so that's Tom Tillis, North Carolina Republican Senator, and Tom, the borders closed. And there will be a fair investigation, an honest investigation into what happened. But if this goes the other way in November or in 2028, it's not going to be just Kristi Noem. If Democrats win in November, it's going to be a whole lot bigger than that, I guarantee it. I want Stephen Miller to be the number one in the Nuremberg trials when this is done. When this is done, I want Stephen Miller to be the first one who has tried and convicted and dangles. Think about that. The Nuremberg trials where Nazis were tried for their crimes after the Second World War, many of them were executed, some were shot, hung. And who's the real threat to democracy? Is it the right? And to anyone who says January 6 was a threat to our democracy, it was a bad day, I'll grant you that. Was it really a threat to our democracy? To anyone who says that, I raise you Minneapolis right now. And to anyone calling for Kristi Noem to resign, I raise you Lloyd Austin, Merrick Garland, and Alejandro Mayorkas.

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-09-09T03:29:05.326Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Summary

This post shares a media clip with no original text; the analyzable act is selection, not authorship of the words. The video defends Trump supporters as unfairly labeled "deplorables"/"garbage" while reframing January 6th as a brief, benign protest — possibly a "false flag" — and inverting blame for "threat to democracy" onto Minneapolis protesters and Jan 6 critics (DARVO). It states "don't fight with federal agents and you won't get shot," amplified the same day the subject himself called the fatally shot ICU nurse Alex Pretti an "agitator and, perhaps, insurrectionist," and one day after his immigration approval hit a recorded 39% low amid Minneapolis backlash. The clustering suggests defensive narrative control during a live controversy over lethal federal enforcement, functioning to justify force against resistance and recast enforcement critics as the true danger. Rhetorically the clip relies on whataboutism, false dichotomy, and minimization of documented Jan 6 violence — reality distortions inconsistent with congressional investigative findings. No explicit incitement or target list is present, so this falls short of stochastic terrorism, but the normalization of lethal force against resistance during an active use-of-force controversy warrants an elevated danger rating. Because there is no original text, stylometric authorship analysis is unavailable; timing (~7:41 AM Eastern) is ambiguous between personal and staff posting patterns, capping authorship-attribution confidence at low. The pattern is consistent with, but not a marked escalation from, the subject's established rhetorical baseline of grievance framing and Jan 6 revisionism.</summary>

## Post Type and Interpretive Frame

This post carries no original text from the subject — it is a media-only share of a broadcast-style commentary video (a montage juxtaposing Fox-style commentary, MSNBC-style clips of Democrats using "deplorables"/"basket of deplorables"/Nazi-rally comparisons, and a monologue defending Trump voters while re-litigating January 6th and the Minneapolis unrest). None of the transcript's wording, grammar, or rhetorical style can be attributed to the subject; the analyzable behavior is his choice to select and amplify this specific clip to his audience. Analysis below is accordingly thin on trait/stylometric inference and focused on the significance of the selection itself.

## Level 2/3: Motives and Narrative Amplified

The clip constructs a redemption-via-victimhood narrative for the in-group ("you were called garbage/deplorable/fascist merely for voting your values") and a contamination narrative for January 6th (recast from insurrection to a benign, brief, possibly "false flag" protest for "free, fair elections"). The contrasting other is the composite "Democrats/media/left." Trump's selection reinforces his own recurring self-narrative as protector of a persecuted base and reframes his movement's most legally consequential day as legitimate grievance politics — a pattern consistent with prior posts.

## Timing and Context

Posted 2026-01-30T12:41:40 UTC ≈ 7:41 AM Eastern (assume New York/DC/Mar-a-Lago, EST, no travel indicated). This falls in Trump's well-documented early-morning "morning show consumption" window rather than the classic 10pm–6am impulsive window, but it is well before typical business-hours staff-posting patterns (9am+) and is consistent with him personally reacting to cable news he is watching live. No caption, no polish, no third-person framing — a bare video drop is itself atypical of aide-authored content, which usually carries an announcement frame or explanatory text. This is weak but suggestive evidence of personal rather than staff selection.

## Psychological Function and Timing in the News Cycle

This post lands the same day as his own post calling the fatally shot ICU nurse Alex Pretti an "agitator and, perhaps, insurrectionist," and one day after reporting showed his immigration approval falling to a record low (39%) amid Minneapolis backlash. The clip's content — Jan 6 minimization, "don't fight federal agents and you won't get shot," reversal of "who is the real threat to democracy" — functions as a preemptive/defensive reframing that runs parallel to and reinforces his own same-day rhetoric on Pretti. The clustering suggests this is not incidental content consumption but a coordinated (if not deliberately curated) defense of federal enforcement conduct during an actively controversial, fatal use-of-force news cycle.

## Level 4: Clinical-Adjacent Observations (Amplification, Not Direct Speech)

**Defense mechanisms visible in the selected content (not directly the subject's, but adopted by amplification):**
- **DARVO**: the clip pivots from Republicans being labeled aggressors to asking "who is the real threat to democracy," inverting victim/offender roles between Jan 6 participants and Minneapolis protesters.
- **Splitting**: binary framing of "real Americans"/"patriots" vs. a monolithic, malicious "left."
- **Minimization/rationalization**: January 6th reduced to "a protest that lasted four hours," possible "false flag," in service of legitimizing it.
- **Projection**: attributing "threat to democracy" to opponents while the clip simultaneously defends conduct (Jan 6, mail-in ballot rejection, federal force against protesters) that critics characterize as antidemocratic.

**Rhetorical/propaganda techniques**: whataboutism (Jan 6 vs. Minneapolis unrest and Floyd-era protests), false dichotomy (order vs. chaos, deplorable-callers vs. patriots), historical revisionism, appeal to grievance/persecution, superlatives ("utterly preposterous"), fear appeal regarding "civil war."

**Danger indicators**: The line "don't fight federal agents and you won't get shot... it's pretty simple" — amplified without qualification during a week when a federal officer's killing of an unarmed nurse (Pretti) is under active public and possibly legal scrutiny — functions as an implicit justification of lethal force against those who resist or protest federal agents. Combined with dehumanizing language toward immigrants ("criminals," rejecting them "as neighbors") and framing protesters as pushing the country "into a civil war," this constitutes an elevated-risk amplification pattern: it doesn't itself call for violence, but it normalizes/justifies violence already used and stigmatizes resistance to state force during a live controversy. Rated **elevated**, not high/critical, because there is no explicit target list or call to mobilize — the content justifies rather than incites.

## Order/Chaos and Archetypal Framing

The clip positions Trump/supporters as order-restorers persecuted by an order attacking a legitimately elected government ("free, fair, honest elections"), while casting Minneapolis unrest and "the left" as the true chaos agents — the mirror image of how critics frame January 6th. Archetypally this blends **Victim** (persecuted patriots, "deplorables") with **Warrior** (federal agents as heroes under assault) and casts the shadow of "insurrection" and "threat to democracy" onto the opposing side.

## Confidence and Limitations

Authorship-selection confidence is capped at low per instructions: there is no textual evidence, and posting time (7:41 AM ET) is ambiguous between personal and staff patterns. Psychological inferences about triggers and defenses describe the amplified content and the pattern of selection alongside his own concurrent Pretti post, not direct clinical assessment of the subject's own speech.

## Authorship Analysis

**Uncertain** (score: 35%)

### Indicators

- No caption or written framing accompanies the video, atypical of polished staff announcements which usually include explanatory third-person text
- Posted ~7:41 AM Eastern, consistent with Trump's documented habit of reacting to morning cable news personally, though within a plausible staff-posting window as well
- No stylometric evidence available since the post contains no text he wrote himself
- Thematic alignment with his own same-day post about Alex Pretti suggests either personal curation or a staff effort coordinated with his messaging that morning

## Danger Assessment

**ELEVATED**

### Indicators

- Clip states 'don't fight with federal agents and you won't get shot... it's pretty simple,' amplified amid live scrutiny of the fatal shooting of ICU nurse Alex Pretti by CBP agents
- Frames protesters/immigration critics as pushing the country toward 'civil war'
- Minimizes January 6th violence and floats 'false flag' revisionism, historically a precursor to further politicized minimization of political violence
- Characterizes immigrants broadly as unwelcome, undesirable neighbors

### Gaslighting

- Reframing January 6th as possibly a 'false flag' and only a benign four-hour protest, contradicting extensive documented evidence
- DARVO structure asking 'who is the real threat to democracy' to invert scrutiny away from federal enforcement conduct onto its critics

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**A 1 A.M. attack on a dead nurse, a Fed chair by breakfast, then eleven hours of silence.**

Trump posted just nine times, all of it packed into two short bursts — a few overnight posts around 1 AM and then a rapid run just before 8 AM. The overnight stretch included a personal attack on Alex Pretti, the nurse killed by federal agents the week before, whom he called an agitator and possible insurrectionist. By dawn he had switched to presidential business, naming Kevin Warsh as his pick for Federal Reserve chair and then spending four straight posts on the announcement, including consoling the runner-up and thanking the candidates who lost out. Minutes later he shared two videos, one defending his supporters as unfairly maligned and downplaying January 6, the other reviving 2020 election fraud claims in Georgia. Two things stand out: he said nothing at all about the Justice Department's release of millions of pages of Epstein documents that mention him over a thousand times, and after 8 AM he went quiet for the rest of the day.
