## Analysis: Trump Shares Nicki Minaj Article (2025-12-24)

### Overview
A link-share post highlighting Nicki Minaj as a "surprising new messenger" for Trump's appeal to urban Americans. This follows Minaj's appearance at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest. The post is essentially a curated news amplification with minimal original text.

### Authorship
Likely aide-written (Scavino). The post appears at 6:41 PM EST (Trump at Mar-a-Lago for Christmas Eve). Clean formatting, no caps outbursts, grammatically correct headline-style framing. Part of a batch of JustTheNews link-shares on this date.

### Psychological Analysis
The post serves a **supply-seeking** and **maintenance** function — broadcasting third-party validation, particularly from a Black celebrity, which serves the narcissistic need for broad admiration and the political narrative of cross-demographic appeal. The framing of Minaj as a "surprising" messenger implicitly highlights Trump's perceived ability to attract unlikely allies — a grandiosity marker.

### Rhetorical Techniques
- **Appeal to authority** via celebrity endorsement
- **Out-group validation** — emphasizing support from demographics assumed hostile
- **Third-party sourcing** — letting a sympathetic outlet (JustTheNews) carry the argument

### Danger Assessment
No danger indicators present. Standard political messaging.

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**Christmas Eve Midnight Rage Spiral: From Colbert Euthanasia Metaphor to Press License Threats in 20 Minutes**

Christmas Eve was defined by a brief but sharp midnight rage spiral targeting late-night TV hosts, particularly Stephen Colbert, who was compared to an animal that should be "put to sleep." Within 20 minutes the attacks broadened from one person to all network late-night shows and then to a call to revoke broadcast licenses for negative coverage — followed immediately by a cheerful "MERRY CHRISTMAS." The rest of the day was quiet: a batch of aide-drafted article shares in the evening focused on deflecting the Epstein files toward Clinton and celebrating legal actions against political opponents. The contrast between the venom of the midnight posts and the holiday cheer posted seconds later was the day's most striking feature.
