> THE TRUMP RULE:The Financial News today was great — GDP up 4.2% as opposed to the predicted 2.5% (and this, despite the downward pressure of the recent Democrat Shutdown!) — But in the Modern Market, when you have good news, the Market stays even, or goes down, because Wall Street's "heads" are wired differently than they used to be. In the old days, when there was good news, the Market went up. Nowadays, when there is good news, the Market goes down, because everybody thinks that Interest Rates will be immediately lifted to take care of "potential" Inflation. That means that, essentially, we can never have a Great Market again, those Markets from the time when our Nation was building up, and becoming great. Strong Markets, even phenomenal Markets, don't cause Inflation, stupidity does! I want my new Fed Chairman to lower Interest Rates if the Market is doing well, not destroy the Market for no reason whatsoever. I want to have a Market the likes of which we haven't had in many decades, a Market that goes up on good news, and down on bad news, the way it should be, and the way it was. Inflation will take care of itself and, if it doesn't, we can always raise Rates at the appropriate time — But the appropriate time is not to kill Rallies, which could lift our Nation by 10, 15, and even 20 GDP points in a year — and maybe even more than that! A Nation can never be Economically GREAT if "eggheads" are allowed to do everything within their power to destroy the upward slope. We are going to be encouraging the Good Market to get better, rather than make it impossible for it to do so. We are going to see numbers that are far more natural, and far better, than they have ever been before. We are going to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! The United States should be rewarded for SUCCESS, not brought down by it. Anybody that disagrees with me will never be the Fed Chairman!

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-03-22T06:35:28.237Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Summary

This extended post ("THE TRUMP RULE") is clinically significant for its explicit threat to Federal Reserve independence and its window into narcissistic economic omniscience. Trump constructs an elaborate theory explaining why markets don't rally on good GDP numbers — blaming "eggheads" and Fed policy rather than accepting market complexity. The post escalates from narcissistic supply (celebrating GDP) through injury (market didn't respond) to grandiose theory-building to an authoritarian threat: "Anybody that disagrees with me will never be the Fed Chairman!" Notable cognitive marker: the GDP figure cited (4.2% vs predicted 2.5%) contradicts his own companion post from the same day (4.3% vs 3.2%). The claim that GDP could rise "10, 15, and even 20 GDP points in a year" is economically fantastical — no modern economy has achieved this. The post reveals characteristic splitting (old good markets vs modern broken ones), rationalization (elaborate theory to explain narcissistic injury), and distortion (impossible economic claims). The anti-intellectual framing ("eggheads," "stupidity") combined with institutional threats represents an escalation in the merger of narcissistic needs with presidential power. The demand that the Fed chairman must agree with him or be excluded constitutes a direct challenge to central bank independence — an institutional norm foundational to modern economic governance.

## Analysis: "THE TRUMP RULE" — Markets, Fed Policy, and Economic Omniscience

### Overview
This is an extended, stream-of-consciousness monologue articulating Trump's theory that modern markets are broken because the Fed raises rates on good news, preventing sustained rallies. He demands his Fed Chairman lower rates during rallies and concludes with a direct threat: "Anybody that disagrees with me will never be the Fed Chairman!"

### Authorship
Posted at 12:55 PM EST (Trump likely at Mar-a-Lago for Christmas week). The length, rambling structure, capitalization patterns, and emotional escalation are strongly authentic Trump. The post has no professional polish — it meanders through multiple sub-arguments with characteristic tangentiality. The threatening concluding line is quintessential unfiltered Trump.

### Psychological Analysis
This post is a remarkable window into narcissistic omniscience — Trump positions himself as uniquely understanding markets better than all economists ("eggheads," "heads"). The GDP numbers serve as narcissistic supply, but the market's failure to rally becomes a narcissistic injury requiring explanation. Rather than accept market complexity, he constructs "THE TRUMP RULE" — a grandiose reframing where he alone understands the system's flaw.

The threat to Fed independence ("Anybody that disagrees with me will never be the Fed Chairman!") is the post's most significant element — it represents an explicit demand for institutional submission to personal authority, consistent with authoritarian personality dynamics.

### Economic Claims
- GDP claim of 4.2% vs predicted 2.5% — the companion post says 4.3% vs 3.2%. Internal inconsistency within hours.
- Claim that GDP could increase "10, 15, and even 20 GDP points in a year" is economically fantastical — no modern economy has achieved this.
- "Democrat Shutdown" framing attributes any government shutdown entirely to Democrats.

### Rhetorical Architecture
The post constructs a narrative: good old days → broken system → villain (Fed/eggheads) → savior (Trump) → utopian future. This is a classic populist redemption arc with Trump as the sole agent of restoration.

## Fact Verification

| Claim | Verdict | Evidence |
|-------|---------|----------|
| "GDP up 4.2% as opposed to the predicted 2.5%" | **Mostly False** | Trump's own companion post from the same day cites 4.3% vs 3.2% predictions. The inconsistency within hours undermines both claims. Known events list confirms Q3 GDP at 4.3% beating expectations of 3.2%, not 4.2% vs 2.5%. |
| "GDP could increase 10, 15, and even 20 GDP points in a year" | **False** | No modern advanced economy has ever achieved GDP growth of 10-20 percentage points in a single year. US record post-war annual growth is approximately 8.7% (1950). This claim is economically fantastical. |
| "Strong Markets don't cause Inflation, stupidity does" | **Mostly False** | Asset price inflation and wealth effects from strong markets can contribute to demand-pull inflation. The relationship between monetary policy, asset prices, and inflation is well-established in economics. |
| "Recent Democrat Shutdown" | **Half True** | Government shutdown dynamics in this period involved complex negotiations between parties. Attribution solely to Democrats is partisan framing. |

Overall Veracity: 23%

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**Late-Night Press Attack and Fed Threats Bookend a Day of GDP Victory Laps**

Trump spent December 23 celebrating strong GDP numbers and promoting his Kennedy Center hosting gig, but the day's edges were sharper. A post-midnight attack on the New York Times called the paper an "enemy of the people" that "must be dealt with and stopped." By afternoon, frustration that markets hadn't rallied on the GDP news led to a sprawling post threatening to bar anyone who disagrees with him from the Fed chairmanship. He also quietly cited two different GDP figures in posts just two hours apart.
