> Chuck Grassley, who I got re-elected to the U.S. Senate when he was down, by a lot, in the Great State of Iowa, could solve the "Blue Slip" problem we are having with respect to the appointment of Highly Qualified Judges and U.S. Attorneys, with a mere flick of the pen. Democrats like Schumer, Warner, Kaine, Booker, Schiff, and others, SLEAZEBAGS ALL, have an ironclad stoppage of Great Republican Candidates. Put simply, the President of the United States will never be permitted to appoint the person of his choice because of an ancient, and probably Unconstitutional, "CUSTOM," that if you have, even one person in the opposite Party serving in the U.S. Senate, he/she must give consent, thereby completely stopping the opposite Party's Nomination. The only way to beat this Hoax is to appoint a Democrat or, a weak and ineffective Republican. Therefore, I would never be able to appoint Great Judges or U.S. Attorneys in California, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Virginia, and other places, where there is, coincidentally, the highest level of crime and corruption — The places where fantastic people are most needed! Senator Grassley must step up, like Crooked Joe Biden did, when he openly broke, at least two times, the "Blue Slip" SCAM, and like others have done over the years, and let our Great Republican Judges and U.S. Attorneys BE CONFIRMED. He should do this, IMMEDIATELY, and not let the Democrats laugh at him and the Republican Party for being weak and ineffective. The Democrats have broken this ridiculous custom on us, it's time that we break it on them. Chuck, I know you have the Courage to do this, DO IT!

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-03-22T03:04:36.053Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Summary

This post is a public pressure campaign against same-party Senator Chuck Grassley to abolish the Senate's blue slip tradition for judicial and U.S. Attorney appointments. Psychologically, it reveals narcissistic entitlement frustrated by institutional constraint—any norm limiting presidential power is reframed as a "Hoax" or "SCAM." The post opens with a transactional debt reminder ("I got him re-elected") and closes with a manipulation technique: publicly defining compliance as "Courage," making refusal equivalent to cowardice and weakness. Six Democratic senators are named as "SLEAZEBAGS ALL," while the implicit threat to Grassley is clear—comply or be categorized with the enemy. The rhetorical structure is sophisticated despite informal style, following a five-part persuasion arc from establishing debt to issuing demand. Defense mechanisms include splitting (uniformly great Republicans vs. uniformly corrupt Democrats), rationalization (Biden did it too), and devaluation. The danger level is elevated not for violence but for institutional erosion—this represents a sustained campaign to remove checks on executive appointment power. The false claim that Grassley was "down, by a lot" before Trump's support exemplifies confabulation in service of the transactional narrative. Cognitively, the post maintains coherent argumentation throughout its considerable length.

## Psychological Analysis: Blue Slip Pressure Campaign Against Sen. Grassley

### Overview
This is a lengthy, substantive policy post that doubles as a public pressure campaign against a same-party senator. Trump frames the Senate's "blue slip" tradition as an illegitimate obstacle to his power, demands Grassley unilaterally abolish it, and names specific Democratic senators as enemies. The post blends genuine policy grievance with characteristic narcissistic framing (everything filtered through personal entitlement to appoint "his choice").

### Authorship
Posted at ~6:13 PM ET (Trump was in Scotland, so ~11:13 PM BST). The late-night local timing, length, emotional escalation, stream-of-consciousness structure with parenthetical asides, ALL CAPS emphasis, and the building pressure toward the climactic "DO IT!" all point to authentic Trump composition. The post has policy substance but is stylistically unmistakable—run-on sentences, characteristic comma splicing, and escalating emotional intensity.

### Psychological Dynamics
The core dynamic is **narcissistic entitlement frustrated by institutional constraint**. The blue slip tradition limits presidential power, which Trump experiences as a personal affront. He frames a longstanding Senate norm as a "Hoax," "SCAM," and "probably Unconstitutional"—classic reality distortion applied to any rule constraining him.

The post opens with a **transactional reminder** ("who I got re-elected") establishing that Grassley owes him—a classic narcissistic ledger where all relationships are debts to be collected. The closing ("I know you have the Courage") is a manipulation technique: publicly defining courage as compliance, making refusal equivalent to cowardice.

### Rhetorical Structure
The post follows a clear persuasion arc: (1) establish debt, (2) identify the problem, (3) name enemies, (4) frame the stakes, (5) provide precedent for action, (6) issue the demand. This is sophisticated rhetoric despite the informal style.

### Defense Mechanisms
- **Projection**: Calls Democrats "SLEAZEBAGS" while pressuring a senator to break norms
- **Rationalization**: Biden broke blue slips too, so it's justified
- **Splitting**: Democrats are uniformly "SLEAZEBAGS," his nominees are uniformly "Great" and "Highly Qualified"

### Fact Verification

| Claim | Verdict | Evidence |
|-------|---------|----------|
| "Got Grassley re-elected when he was 'down, by a lot'" | **Mostly False** | Grassley won his 2022 Senate race by 12 points (56-43%). While Trump endorsed him, Grassley has won every Senate race since 1980 and was not significantly trailing. |
| "Biden broke blue slip custom 'at least two times'" | **Mostly True** | Biden as Senate Judiciary Chair did bypass blue slips in limited circumstances, though the practice has evolved over decades with both parties. |
| "States named have 'highest level of crime and corruption'" | **Half True** | Some named states (California, Illinois) have high-crime cities, but several (Virginia, New Jersey) have crime rates near or below national average. The blanket claim is an overgeneralization. |

Overall Veracity: 50%

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**From Scotland with Swagger: Trump Mixes Diplomatic Victory Lap with Evening Attack Barrage**

Trump spent the day posting from Scotland, where he'd arrived after an EU trade deal, alternating between triumphant self-congratulation and combative jabs. He pushed back on reports that he was seeking a summit with China, responded presidentially to a deadly Manhattan shooting, then pivoted hard into personal attacks by evening — targeting Fox News host Jessica Tarlov, celebrating Stephen Colbert's reported firing, and publicly pressuring Republican Senator Chuck Grassley to eliminate the judicial blue slip tradition. A predawn posting cluster in Scottish time raises sleep-pattern questions. The day closed with escalating intensity, capped by charged dehumanizing rhetoric about immigration enforcement.
