> To the Great People of North Carolina, one of the most capable executives in our Country successfully ran, along with Lara Trump, the Republican National Committee. He happens to live in your incredible State, which I love, and won, including Primaries, six times in a row! My relationship with you has been fantastic, and only enhanced by the job I did after January 20th, when I took over the flood drenched areas that were abandoned by Sleepy Joe Biden and your Governor, and, through the infusion of money and hard work, fixed the problem like nobody else has the ability to do. The one that energized that project, and so many more, was the Chairman of the RNC, Michael Whatley. I am sending this Statement out for a very good reason. Mike would make an unbelievable Senator from North Carolina. He is fantastic at everything he does, and he was certainly great at the RNC where, in the Presidential Election, we won every Swing State, the Popular Vote, and the Electoral College by a landslide! But I have a mission for my friends in North Carolina, and that is to get Michael Whatley to run for the U.S. Senate. He is STRONG on the Border, stopping Crime, supporting our Military/Veterans, cutting Taxes, and saving our always under siege Second Amendment. I need him in Washington, and I need him representing YOU! Fortunately, I have somebody who will do a wonderful job as the Chairman of the RNC. His name is, Joe Gruters, and he will have my Complete and Total Endorsement. So, should Michael Whatley run for the Senate, please let this notification represent my Complete and Total Endorsement. HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-03-22T03:01:38.338Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Analysis: Endorsement of Michael Whatley for NC Senate / Joe Gruters for RNC Chair

### Authorship
Posted at 8:36 PM ET (Trump likely at Mar-a-Lago or traveling). This is a lengthy, structured political endorsement with complete sentences, proper grammar, and strategic messaging. The format closely mirrors the adjacent Ashley Moody and Mike Rogers endorsements from the same day. However, it contains characteristic Trump flourishes — the meandering parenthetical about hurricane response, self-aggrandizing asides ("like nobody else has the ability to do"), and the stream-of-consciousness quality of the middle section suggest either Trump dictating or heavy Trump input into an aide draft.

### Psychological Analysis
This is a **maintenance/supply-seeking** post operating in **grandiose narcissistic state**. The endorsement of Whatley is secondary to extensive self-referential content: Trump won NC six times, his relationship is "fantastic," he personally "fixed the problem" of hurricane damage that Biden "abandoned." The endorsement becomes a vehicle for narcissistic supply.

The hurricane response passage is notable — it inserts a lengthy self-congratulatory digression into what should be a straightforward endorsement, revealing the compulsive need to redirect attention to personal accomplishments.

### Rhetorical Structure
Classic Trump endorsement template: (1) praise state, (2) claim personal connection/victories, (3) attack predecessor, (4) credit self, (5) endorse candidate as extension of self, (6) issue directive to voters. The "Complete and Total Endorsement" is a formulaic branding phrase used consistently.

### Fact Verification

| Claim | Verdict | Evidence |
|-------|---------|----------|
| "Won North Carolina six times in a row including primaries" | **Mostly True** | Won NC Republican primaries 2016, 2020, 2024 and NC general elections 2016, 2020, 2024 = six wins. Technically accurate though 'in a row' is loose framing. |
| "Won every Swing State in 2024" | **True** | Trump won all seven commonly identified swing states in 2024: AZ, GA, MI, NV, NC, PA, WI. |
| "Won the Popular Vote in 2024" | **True** | Trump won the 2024 popular vote with approximately 77.3M to Harris's 75M. |
| "Won Electoral College by a landslide" | **Mostly False** | Won 312-226. Comfortable but not historically a 'landslide' (typically 100+ margin or 375+ EVs). |
| "Biden and NC Governor abandoned flood-drenched areas" | **Mostly False** | Biden declared a major disaster for NC after Hurricane Helene and approved federal aid. Characterizing this as 'abandonment' is a contested political claim. |

Overall Veracity: 64%

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**Scotland-Bound Trump Bookends a Boastful Day with Defensive Bursts on Epstein and FireAid**

Trump spent the day traveling from the United States to Scotland, filling the hours between with a steady stream of self-congratulatory posts about trade deals, favorable polls, and political allies. The day's two flashes of real anger came early and late — first a defensive response to growing pressure over Epstein file transparency, then a late-night attack on California's FireAid charity laced with false claims about missing money and water policy. He shared the same Newsmax poll link twice, hours apart. By midnight local time, he confirmed his arrival in Scotland ahead of meetings at Turnberry.
