## What the media says

**Video transcript** (10:58), transcribed automatically, so names and numbers may be wrong. Speakers aren't identified, so a voice in it may not be his:

> August 8th, 2022, I remember the moment when I found out the FBI had raided Mar-a-Lago. I felt like the world would never be the same again, and in many ways it actually hasn't been. Not only the disgraceful raid, but proof beyond any doubt that the FBI and vast portions of the federal government are thoroughly corrupt. The FBI, what they did, and it's even worse than I thought originally. The FBI going in there, that was bad enough. Turns out they were planting evidence. Oh yeah, planting evidence. You see this stuff? Half of it is fake. Half of it was brought by the FBI. Now that picture was designed to make us all scared. Oh, how could Donald Trump have done such a thing? Look at all that secret information. Well, in a court filing today, the government admitted that the sensational looking documents, the one that say secret all over the place. As part of the processing of seized documents, Mark classified, ERT photographed evidence retrieval team, okay? The documents with appropriate cover sheets added by FBI personnel next to the box in which they were located. What? Cover sheets added by the FBI, FBI personnel, yeah, they did that in that picture. All the sensational looking stuff, the stuff they want us to get scared over. The red sheets, the yellow sheets, all right. This is a really big deal. People forget, but when this happened, when this all went down, this picture designed to go viral, and that's what it did. Strangers go in and out of this place on a regular basis. Here we are on the screen right now. The image that we're looking at is the photo that the Department of Justice released showing the documents. You can see what they are. If you look closely, you'll see some of the classification markings on there. You'll see the sort of the disorganized way some of these documents that the FBI, when they conducted their search, yeah, the FBI, we used to trust them. We don't anymore. All right. They were trying to fire everybody up. Make everybody freaked out about Donald Trump. First, they sabotaged, tried to his 2016 campaign, then the Russian dossier, more recently fake crime numbers, more talking points for Joe Biden, and never forget, I call this the ultimate moment of hypocrisy. Of course, there was all kinds of secret stuff. Stuff that Joe Biden had no access to, no right to, no claim to, and they busted him, didn't they? He got away with it. This is the ultimate moment of hypocrisy. When you saw the photograph of the top secret documents laid out on the floor at Mar-a-Lago, what did you think to yourself, looking at that image? How that could possibly happen, how it won anyone could be that irresponsible. And I thought, what data was in there that may compromise sources and methods? And by that, I mean names of people who helped her, et cetera. And it's just totally irresponsible. I hope this comes up at the debate. How dare he? And how dare the FBI, again, in court papers, we know the FBI staged that photograph. More than just putting stuff on the ground, they brought stuff with them and put it on the ground. It is incredible. It really is. And meanwhile, back to Biden, remember the stuff in the garage behind his Corvette? I thought, oh, come on, really? Behind his Corvette? Yeah, he even admitted it. He even admitted it, and yet he gets away with it, and yet, I mean, but, yeah. Classified material, next to your Corvette, what were you thinking? Let me, I'm going to get a chance to speak on all this, God willing, soon, but as I said earlier this week, people, and by the way, my Corvette's in a locked garage, okay? So it's not like you're sitting out in the street. But anyway, yes, as well as my Corvette. Wow. I mean, at that point, he really should have been on the verge of resignation or impeachment or whatever, but it just blows over because the New York Times doesn't ratify it as a story. Well, it's all coming out. In that courtroom in Florida before Judge Cannon and she, the government lies to her time and time again, and then, every now and then, they try to kind of squeak something in there. Well, we got to come clean on this. They brought the cover sheets in with them to stage a photograph. They brought the cover sheets, and they were added by FBI personnel. Folks, this should be right up there with the debate. At least here it is because this is out and out corruption. It's the worst thing that the FBI could do, and look at what they're trying to do to Judge Cannon. I mean, she's just challenging the government, which is what a judge is supposed to do. Actually, that's what journalism is supposed to do, right? The way they are talking about this woman. She had two judges come to her asking her to step off the case. Let me tell you something that just doesn't happen, and when it does, when you have two judges coming to you saying you need to step off the case, you step off the case. She makes one outrageous comment after another. She is doing everything she can do to play into her critics view that she is little more than a hack for Donald Trump. The FBI brought in papers to take out President Trump. They brought in scandalous-looking material to try to get Donald Trump in trouble, falsely. This is what they should be upset about. The FBI has no -- there is no doubt it is a thoroughly corrupt organization, cannot be trusted. Sorry. And Jack Smith, my God, where did this guy come from? I mean, this is criminal behavior. This is criminal behavior. They're false -- they're trying to influence an election, to be sure. One more time. That picture. Remember what they did. Never forget. And wow. All right. I do hope it comes up at that debate. Meanwhile, Julian Assange is free. No more questions asked? He got out of jail in the U.K. I don't know too much about this guy, but I do know that he was posting some very sensitive military secrets of the United States online for the whole world to see. And for some reasons I can't quite understand totally. Guys I like, like Tucker Carlson thinks he's an awesome dude. And Joe Rogan, too. And I mean, do they remember Bradley Manning? I know it's a little bit hard to remember Bradley because now he's Chelsea, but Bradley Manning was in Iraq and stole all kinds of documents that probably got a lot of our soldiers killed, and may have lengthened the war. Let's go through it. Documents, cables, you know it. I mean, you name it. He was leaking this stuff, including footage that, well, look, everybody has stuff that they don't want online. Companies do. People do. And yeah, the military does. Folks, war is hell, right? And shooting bad guys is never pretty, but this video was released, and I'm told it fired up a good chunk of the Arab world, and some of them still want revenge on us. All right, we just engaged all eight individuals, and we got two of ours, and we're still firing. We got them. Two ticks, two ticks, we're moving. We got this. All right, we took out the most extreme part where you saw like eight guys getting shot and killed, whatever. But the part, you can put that down now. The troops were laughing a little bit, and you know what, in warfare, yeah, things happen. It's your job, and there are light moments, even in combat, even when you're doing the unthinkable. Even when the unthinkable is your job, and it didn't go over too well on the global scene. So Julian Assange seems that ... He thinks that that is everybody's business. I don't think so. I think this man should be in prison, actually. And the same goes for Eric Snowden. Is that his name? Snowden, remember him? He downloaded like half of the national security administration stuff, and brought it to Russia, and gave it to some guy in South America. That's not right. I mean, I think our government is way too powerful, has gotten way too carried away, but he could have brought it to, say, an elected senator when he liked the intelligence committee. But Joe Rogan and the rest of them ... Snowden is like ... He's like a hipster. It's like cool. He shows up on his podcast. People are like, "How do you live?" And things like that. "Are you taking money from the Russians?" and of course, the answer is no. But I do this for a living. I speak. I don't have a YouTube channel where it's ... I'm Joe Rogan. But I give speeches at universities and things like that. I think he should be learning how to make license plates in prison. Somebody once told me ... Imagine if he had a Southern accent, right? Would he be viewed as such a hip guy and kind of cool? I don't know. I don't know, because this is a strange country. Sometimes, if you're stylish and you appeal to a certain sect, look, the January Sixers. One of the reasons why I'm angry at these guys. These guys right here, the January Sixers are doing real time. And those guys, Julian Assange, I know he spent time in British prison, but what about American prison? What about ... I don't know. I don't like it. Do you? I'll be right back with what not to expect in this debate, which I think is going to be a giant fiasco, thanks especially to that woman. Yeah, forget about Jake. We all know his story, but this woman is really, really out of control.

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-03-21T10:09:03.250Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

# Analysis: ts_112682725682610606 — "GREG KELLY: 'A DARK DAY IN AMERICA'"
*Truth Social · 2024-06-26 · 11:39:02 UTC*

## Authorship Attribution

**Local time determination:** Trump was likely in transit to or from Philadelphia (rally at Temple University on June 26) or at Trump Tower, New York. Eastern Time = UTC−4, placing this post at **7:39 AM ET** — early morning but squarely within business hours.

**Assessment: Moderate confidence aide-authored (Scavino-type)**

The post exhibits the hallmarks of a media amplification relay rather than an authentic Trump composition:
- No original text, typos, or idiosyncratic phrasing
- Structured as a clean quotation attribution ("GREG KELLY: '...'")
- 7:39 AM ET falls within standard staff-managed posting windows
- All-caps headline format is consistent with aide curation templates used routinely to share friendly media content
- No emotional elaboration, which authentic Trump posts of grievance content almost always include

The sole possible authentic marker is the ALL-CAPS format, which Trump does use personally — but here it reads more like a headline label than an emotional outburst.

---

## Psychological State & Triggers

Despite minimal original content, the post is psychologically legible through its curation choice.

**Trigger:** The surrounding post cluster on the same day reveals an active narcissistic injury cycle: the FBI/Mar-a-Lago staged photograph narrative (prior post citing Greg Kelly Reports), the Gershkovich hostage framing, and sharing of "Declassified with Julie Kelly." The Kelly clip labeled "A DARK DAY IN AMERICA" functions as **supply-seeking through proxy validation** — outsourcing the dramatic characterization to a friendly media figure rather than making the claim directly.

**Narcissistic state: Vulnerable → oscillating toward grandiose**

The "dark day" framing positions Trump (implicitly) as the subject of the darkness — a collective wound to America that he alone perceives and names. This is consistent with the Warrior/Victim archetype: the subject and the nation are fused, so an attack on him is an attack on America, and any "dark day" for America is understood as persecution of the subject.

**Trigger type:** Narcissistic injury maintenance. The day before the first 2024 presidential debate (June 27, CNN, Atlanta), this post is consistent with pre-debate tension management — sustaining a persecution/grievance frame that keeps the base emotionally activated and primed.

---

## Defense Mechanisms

- **Displacement (neurotic):** Rather than articulating personal grievance directly, the post displaces emotional content onto national framing ("dark day in America"), sanitizing the self-referential wound.
- **Idealization (immature):** Greg Kelly is elevated as authoritative truth-teller; the quote is presented without qualification as objective fact.
- **Acting out (immature, mild):** The heavy media-sharing pattern across this day (at least 5 posts) represents a form of low-level acting out — flooding the channel with grievance-adjacent content rather than processing it.

---

## Rhetorical Techniques

- **Amplification by proxy:** Using a media figure's words to make a claim the subject cannot or chooses not to make directly. Maintains plausible deniability while transmitting the intended message.
- **Catastrophizing headline:** "A DARK DAY IN AMERICA" employs hyperbolic, emotionally saturating language without specifying what the dark day actually refers to — maximizing anxiety while minimizing falsifiability.
- **Appeal to authority:** Attributing the claim to a named news anchor lends it pseudo-journalistic credibility within the in-group epistemic ecosystem.
- **Ambiguity as rhetorical device:** The post does not specify *why* it is a dark day, allowing each follower to project their own grievance onto it — the Mar-a-Lago raid, the debate, the Assange plea, the election more broadly.
- **Emotional priming:** Functions as affective priming for the following day's debate, establishing a catastrophe frame before Trump has said a word.

---

## Level 1 — Dispositional Traits

The post is too minimal for confident trait inference beyond:
- **Low agreeableness:** The selected quote is combative and oppositional in tone
- **High neuroticism (angry hostility):** Curation of catastrophizing content signals baseline state
- **Low openness to alternative framings:** Epistemically closed media diet on display

---

## Level 2 — Characteristic Adaptations

**Agency motives dominant:** The post serves power and status preservation — keeping the audience mobilized and the narrative of persecution alive. No communion content is present.

**Schema:** America as fallen/besieged; Trump and his media proxies as the perceivers of truth; the political establishment as the source of darkness.

---

## Level 3 — Narrative Identity

**Protagonist role:** Implicit Warrior-Victim. The subject is not named in the post, yet functions as the silent center around whom the "dark day" orbits.

**Contamination sequence:** A structural contamination narrative is embedded — America *was* good, now made dark by unnamed forces. The implicit promise is that Trump's return would reverse this.

**Contrasting other:** Unnamed — the "darkness" is unspecified, leaving it open to audience interpretation while sustaining maximum negative affect.

---

## Cognitive Markers

No cognitive markers assessable from this post. The post contains 6 words of original content (the attribution label) and a quoted phrase. Insufficient signal for any cognitive assessment.

---

## Danger Assessment

**Level: None**

The post contains no eliminationist language, no named targets, no call to mobilization, and no violent imagery. The catastrophizing frame is rhetorically amplified but does not reach stochastic terrorism threshold. This is ambient grievance maintenance.

---

## Archetypal Analysis

**Primary archetype activated:** The **Victim** archetype, voiced through a media surrogate. Secondary: the **Warrior** mode implied by the combative framing of America under siege.

The "dark day in America" construction invokes collective mourning mythology — the nation itself as wounded — which is a classic technique for fusing personal grievance with national identity, making any attack on the subject feel like an attack on the homeland.

---

## Gaslighting / Reality Distortion

Not present in this post in isolation. The broader day's posting cluster (FBI staged photograph claims) contains significant reality distortion, but this post itself is an affective relay, not an epistemic manipulation.

---

## Summary

*Not generated: post does not meet threshold for clinical significance in isolation. It is a brief media-amplification relay consistent with routine aide-managed content distribution, warranting attention primarily as one node in the day's broader grievance-management posting pattern ahead of the June 27 debate.*

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**Pre-Debate War Room: Grievance Spike at Dawn, Then Disciplined Attack Messaging All Day**

Trump spent the day in full debate-prep mode, flooding his feed with attacks on Biden ahead of their historic CNN showdown the next evening. The morning opened with a burst of grievance -- claims of a rigged 2020 election and FBI evidence-planting -- before settling into a steady stream of polished campaign messaging through the afternoon. Most of the day's content was aide-produced attack videos and article shares, but the handful of authentic early-morning posts revealed the familiar tug-of-war between persecution anxiety and supreme confidence. Notably absent: any mention of Julian Assange's release from prison, a major news story with direct relevance to Trump's past.
