## What the media says

> Welcome back, America. In addition to denying President Trump attorney-client privilege in one case and executive privilege in the other case and his communications with his vice president, you see anything else weird going on here, Jim Trusty? Yeah. I mean, look, I think there's a real parallel between two investigations that speak volumes about this attorney general and his integrity. The IRS whistleblowers on the Hunter Biden case said that they went to the assistant U.S. attorney ready to do a search warrant to find documents belonging to Hunter Biden. It could be a real treasure trove, of course. The AUSA didn't just say, "No, we're not doing the search warrant." She picked up the phone and called Hunter's lawyers and said, "The IRS is trying to search location X." Okay? In my book, that's basically obstruction of justice. The parallel on the Mar-a-Lago case is that you have the high-level DOJ official, according to a statement submitted as an officer to the court to a federal judge, told Stanley Woodward, a defense attorney representing Walt Nada, that it would be a shame, essentially, if he endangered his pending judgeship by not flipping Nada against President Trump. Again, it's extortion. And so the people that we are entrusting in our criminal justice system to fairly and partially and transparently pursue justice are actually obstructionists, because they're so hell-bent on going after one target against President Trump. And I hope your viewers recognize there's a lot of details, a lot of legal and factual arguments. I hope and try to be an evidence-driven guy, but there's evidence from both of those cases that suggest this Department of Justice, if those accusations are right, has no compunction about breaking the rules, about destroying the rule of law because of their political interest in being the ones that got President Trump. Do we know where that extortion case is now, what the judge has found? I mean, it would seem to me it's relevant to the judge in Florida that the judge in D.C. come to a conclusion. Yeah, that's a good point. I mean, look, you had a presiding judge in D.C. that had a case that suddenly became indicted in Florida, and I'm not saying that it was bad for the president, that the case moved to Florida, but there's a lot of shenanigans in terms of grand jury usage. You know, you don't do a grand jury investigation for a year only to move it to another district unless there's more to the story. I'm concerned that some of those abusive behaviors we talked about played out in front of the grand jury in D.C., and so what Florida got was a much sanitized version of what was presented over the course of a year in D.C. So again, I'm not on the case. There'll be litigation, I assume, that relates to these issues of how the grand jury was used or abused, but it's certainly, again, new territory when DOJ shifts an investigation at the last minute to an entirely different venue. And they would start an investigation in a grand jury in one place and move it to another, which violates the rules of the Department of Justice. But there's a lot of reasons you can do that if you're really a sleazy prosecutor, including you feel you can get a better grand jury from your perspective in Washington, D.C. than in Florida. You're making a point, I'm reading between the lines here, that a lot of stuff took place in that grand jury in Washington, D.C., that the grand jury and the judge in Florida can't possibly know about. You talked about sanitizing that process. I assume some of that, I'm guessing, has to do with attorney-client privilege information and so forth. The reason I'm saying that is past people I have talked to that have faced this man, Smith, say that's exactly what he does. He pierces attorney-client privilege by hook or by crook, gets it in front of the grand jury. It's used in front of the grand jury. And now in this case, he's moved it to another grand jury. And so the grand jury in Florida and the judge in Florida don't know anything about it unless Trump's lawyers are good enough to raise it with them. Is that your point? Yeah, I think that's right. Again, I think there's a lot to be looked into. Of course, the grand jury proceedings in general are one-sided, right? The old saying about the grand jury on the Ida Ham sandwich if a prosecutor asked them to. We understand that. We're not pretending that the grand jury should be like a full-blown trial. It's not. But when judges make historic decisions based on ex parte submissions, in other words, one-sided submissions that defense attorneys don't get to even challenge, to make history. And then, by the way, to avoid all appeals by rushing the witnesses in the grand jury right after they get the friendly ruling, I mean, all of that smells rotten to me. And I think it's the type of stuff that will hopefully be brought to the attention of Judge Cannon or Judge Chutkin, depending on what the specific issue is in Florida or in D.C. And as you started out, the idea that this is being done to a former president who's running for president again, the stretching of laws, the application of laws that have nothing to do, in many cases, with what's taking place, a general warrant rather than a very clean, laser-focused warrant, sending SWAT teams in, where his Biden son, his lawyers get a heads up from the government and so forth. This damn thing is so completely out of control. Jim, trust you, I want to thank you very, very much. God bless you, my friend. All right. Thanks, Mark. Good talking to you. We'll be right back.

# Analysis

_Machine-generated by trump.fm on 2026-03-20T07:02:09.805Z (UTC): a model's reading of this post, not his words. Its psychological terms describe the language, not a clinical assessment of him._

## Summary

Post functions as a low-effort, high-efficiency persecution-narrative delivery mechanism during Trump's peak legal vulnerability period (days after his federal arraignment on four felony charges). Rather than producing original language, Trump amplifies Mark Levin's emotional characterization of the proceedings as 'completely out of control' — outsourcing the outrage while fully endorsing it through platform amplification. The 12:06 AM Bedminster local timestamp strongly favors authentic authorship, consistent with late-night reactive posting under stress. Psychologically, the post reflects the vulnerable-persecutory narcissistic state: wounded, seeking validation supply from trusted allies, and deploying rationalization and projection to reframe legal accountability as institutional illegitimacy. The broader August 7 cluster (five posts in rapid succession sharing conservative commentator content) suggests sustained grievance processing rather than a single reactive moment. Clinically, the paranoid features are pronounced — the DOJ is cast as an 'out of control' actor, a characterization that inverts the legal reality of a grand jury indictment. No independent danger indicators in this specific post, though it contributes to an ambient escalation pattern prosecutors were simultaneously flagging in requests for protective orders. Cognitive assessment is not possible from this sparse sample.

# Analysis: Trump Truth Social Post — 2023-08-07T04:06:48Z

## Post Overview

A single-line amplification of a Mark Levin quote ("This damn thing is so completely out of control!") accompanied by an MP4 video clip. The post is entirely outsourced — Trump provides no original text, functioning as a pure signal-boost operation. Analyzed in the context of Trump's August 2023 federal arraignment cluster.

---

## Authorship Attribution

**Local time conversion:** Trump in August 2023 was based at his Bedminster, NJ club (his summer residence). EDT = UTC−4. Post time: **12:06 AM local** — well within the late-night authentic-Trump window (10 PM–6 AM). The post's brevity, emotional selectivity, and absence of polish are consistent with late-night personally-authored content. Aide-written posts typically include scheduling context, full sentences, or event announcements — none of which are present here.

**Confidence:** High for authentic Trump authorship.

---

## Psychological State & Triggers

**Trigger:** Narcissistic injury of significant magnitude. Within days of this post, Trump had been indicted by Jack Smith on four federal charges and arraigned in Washington, DC. The entire August 7 posting cluster (five consecutive posts sharing Levin clips and quotes) reflects a sustained effort to process and externalize this injury through trusted conservative media proxies.

**Narcissistic state:** Vulnerable-persecutory. Trump is not projecting grandiosity here — he is in a wounded, victimized mode, seeking validation that the legal system targeting him is illegitimate. The Levin quote ("so completely out of control!") does the work of expressing outrage that Trump himself endorses through amplification without attribution.

**Supply mechanism:** Rather than seeking admiration (grandiose supply), Trump is seeking *validation supply* — confirmation from credible-to-his-base figures that his victimization narrative is accurate. This is a form of secondary narcissistic supply common in the vulnerable narcissistic state.

---

## Defense Mechanisms

**Primary: Rationalization** — The legal proceedings are reframed not as accountability but as a system gone "out of control." This converts the threat to Trump's self-image (indicted criminal defendant) into a narrative in which the system, not Trump, is the deviant actor.

**Secondary: Projection** — Consistent with the broader posting cluster (DOJ "completely politicized," "carrying water for Biden"), the locus of disorder is displaced outward onto institutions. Trump's own conduct generating the charges is entirely absent from the narrative field.

**Tertiary: Splitting** — The binary is implicit: Trump/allies = order, DOJ/prosecutors = chaos. No nuance is permitted.

---

## Level 1: Dispositional Traits (Big Five)

The post is too brief for rich trait inference, but the curation choice is revealing:
- **Neuroticism (angry hostility):** The selected quote is maximally emotional — "damn," "completely," "out of control" — signaling affective resonance with this register.
- **Agreeableness (low):** No concession to any legitimacy of the proceedings whatsoever.
- **Conscientiousness (low in this context):** The post makes no attempt at argument or structured rebuttal — pure emotional signaling.

---

## Level 2: Characteristic Adaptations

**Agency motives dominant:** Even in vulnerability, the curating behavior asserts control over the narrative frame. Choosing Levin's quote rather than speaking directly allows Trump to maintain a position of selector/curator rather than reactive respondent — a subtle assertion of agency under conditions of legal duress.

**Schema activation:** The world-as-persecution schema is fully active. Institutions designed to constrain power are recast as corrupt actors serving partisan enemies.

---

## Level 3: Narrative Identity

**Protagonist role:** Martyr/victim of a corrupt system — but one with powerful allies who can see through the corruption.

**Contamination sequence:** The implicit narrative is: legitimate former president → targeted by weaponized DOJ → persecution "completely out of control." Good state → corrupted by enemies.

**Contrasting other:** The DOJ/prosecutors/Biden administration, cast as the agents of illegitimacy.

**Identity claim (implicit):** "I am so important and dangerous to the corrupt establishment that they must use every weapon against me." The indictment is reframed as evidence of his significance.

---

## Level 4: Clinical Indicators

**Malignant narcissism assessment:**
- *Narcissistic features:* Present — the entire post serves self-protective narcissistic function.
- *Paranoid features:* Present — the system is "out of control," which in context means it is uncontrollably targeting Trump.
- *Antisocial features:* Minimal in this specific post.
- *Sadism:* Absent — this is defensive, not aggressive, posting.

**Narcissistic state:** Vulnerable-persecutory, consistent with the stress of arraignment.

---

## Rhetorical & Propaganda Analysis

**Outsourced hyperbole:** By quoting Levin rather than making the claim himself, Trump gains the rhetorical benefit of extreme language ("damn," "completely out of control") while maintaining deniability — it's a quote, not his own assertion.

**Appeal to authority (in-group):** Levin functions as a credentialed validator within the conservative ecosystem. His outrage legitimizes Trump's grievance without Trump having to perform it directly.

**Reality distortion:** The framing that the DOJ is "out of control" inverts the legal reality: Trump faces specific, documented charges evaluated by a federal grand jury. The characterization of this as chaos rather than process is a gaslighting move toward his audience.

**Epistemic closure:** The cluster of five posts sharing only conservative commentator perspectives creates an information environment in which no alternative framing can penetrate.

---

## Gaslighting & Reality Distortion

The embedded claim — that the legal proceedings are politically illegitimate — directly contradicts the documented independence of the grand jury process. This is consistent with the DARVO pattern (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender): Trump is the defendant but is cast as the victim of an "out of control" attack. Confidence: high.

---

## Danger Assessment

**This post alone:** None — no direct targets, no mobilization language, no violent imagery.

**In the cluster context:** Elevated. The broader August 7 cluster, combined with the known "If you go after me, I'm coming after you" post from this same period (which prosecutors cited in requesting a protective order), suggests a coordinated escalation of grievance rhetoric designed to delegitimize the proceedings and prime the audience for potential conflict narratives. The Levin amplification contributes to this ambient escalation without being independently dangerous.

---

## Fact Verification

| Claim | Verdict | Evidence |
|-------|---------|----------|
| "The DOJ has been completely politicized and carries water for the Biden Administration (implied through amplification of Trusty/Levin quotes)" | **Mostly False** | Special Counsel Jack Smith was appointed under DOJ regulations specifically designed to insulate prosecution from political direction. No documented evidence of Biden directing the prosecution. Federal grand jury produced the indictment independently. |
| "The legal proceedings against Trump are 'completely out of control' (Levin quote, endorsed by amplification)" | **Mostly False** | The proceedings followed standard federal criminal procedure: grand jury indictment, arraignment, scheduling. The 'out of control' characterization is a political framing without factual grounding in procedural irregularity. |

Overall Veracity: 20%

## Cognitive Status

Insufficient linguistic material in this post for meaningful cognitive assessment. The choice to quote rather than produce original text may reflect emotional state (overwhelmed, reactive) rather than cognitive limitation. Longitudinal comparison to baseline remains the standard; this post is too sparse to yield signal.

---

## Archetypal Analysis

**Victim archetype:** Primary in this moment — Trump is suffering under a corrupt system.
**Warrior archetype:** Latent — the selection of fighting-words language ("damn," "out of control") signals the warrior stance is nearby, even if not deployed in this post.
**Shadow projection:** The "out of control" energy that characterizes Trump's own behavior during the January 6 period is entirely projected onto the DOJ.

---

## Order/Chaos Dynamics

**Positioning:** Order attacker — casting the legal system (normally the paradigmatic order institution) as the chaos agent. This is rhetorically sophisticated: it inverts the expected order/chaos alignment to position Trump as the defender of legitimate order against an illegitimate, chaotic prosecution apparatus.

## That day

_From trump.fm's machine-generated digest of the day, not his words._

**Post-Arraignment Siege: Seventeen Posts Channel Legal Fury Into Systematic DOJ Delegitimization**

Four days after his federal arraignment on January 6 charges, Trump posted seventeen times from Bedminster in a day consumed by fury at prosecutors and the justice system. A late-night cluster began with gloating over a soccer rival's public humiliation before shifting into defensive media-sharing, and by morning the posts escalated into sustained attacks on Jack Smith, the presiding judge, and the DOJ itself — which he rechristened the "Department of Injustice." Brief detours into golf congratulations, bacon prices, and foreign policy never broke the gravitational pull of the indictment. A notable error — misnaming a key congressional witness "Keven" instead of Devon Archer — was the day's clearest cognitive flag.
