Senator Lindsey Graham: "The Schumer Shutdown is inflicting real pain on hardworking Americans. Senate Democrats need to stop playing political games, and reopen the Government now!"

Video transcript 0:20

-So, Senator Schumer, I couldn't disagree with you anymore. Every day gets better for us. You clearly need to get out of Washington and talk to people outside the wacky left. You're disconnected with real life in America. Every day this goes on doesn't get better for us.

Video transcript 15:31

There was a threat, there was a man who was arrested, seemed to be heavily armed near the property here on Sunday. Is it, it's an ongoing concern, sir. Talk about that for briefly if you can. Well, the only thing I get a little solace from is they say only consequential presidents. And I am definitely consequential. I mean, if you look at the economy, if you look at what's happening, Iran, as an example, will never have a nuclear weapon. They already can't, but it's going to be formal. The strait's going to be open very soon, or they're going to get hit very hard, and then the strait's going to be open. We were going to a tremendous attack, the biggest since World War II. And they called me and said very politely, "Please, can we talk? Can we talk?" They didn't want. And I said, "Yes, we can talk. Let's get it done. Finally, let's get it done." This should have been done by other presidents for 50 years. You know, you keep here in '47, but that's been for three years now. It's been over 50 years. Other presidents or other countries should have been able to do this. And I did something that I had to do, because if they had a nuclear weapon, this whole world would be a different place. If they back out again, are they done? Well, if they back out again, they're going to get hit really hard. You know, they know that. They understand that. I have no choice. They can't have a nuclear weapon. It's very simple. It's not like, "Gee, let's, you know, think about something else." No. It should have been done by many presidents over many years, and it wasn't. And I'm doing it. Obama was taken to the cleaners. He thought he could bribe his way out. He gave them billions, tens of billions of dollars, so stupidly. $1.7 billion in cash, green cash, on a Boeing 757, an airplane, loaded up with cash. They probably looked at it. They said, "You've got to be kidding. Now, you can't bribe your way out. All you can do is fight your way out." And if they didn't, they wouldn't be talking if we weren't doing what we're doing. We hit them very, very hard. But the hard hit is yet to come, and hopefully we won't have to use it. I hope we won't have to. We're having very good discussions. They don't like to admit that. But, you know, it's a little bit disconcerting. You tell people like you, "We're having wonderful discussions." And then some guy will come out of Iran and say, "We have not met. We have not..." Just until, like, all day long, you understand. It's just incredible. They'll say, "We didn't talk about nuclear." "Well, what do we talk about? We're sitting there twiddling our thumbs, right?" But it doesn't matter. Let's talk. The only thing that matters is action, and they want to make a deal. We'll see what happens. If they don't make a deal, it's going to be too bad. Sir, thank you for doing this for us. We very much appreciate this. One of the big stories of the day, and we'll talk about the markets. The markets were way up today. But one of the big stories, of course, is the primaries. In Michigan, specifically, where it looks like Abdul El-Sayed is going to win, has a very good chance to win that Senate race, at least his primary race. What do you think about the traction these candidates who were backed by the DSA and members of the DSA are getting? Well, I think it's crazy because they're going to ruin our country. They want to... I don't know if they want to. I think either they're very naive or they actually want to ruin the country. No matter where you look, go back a thousand years with different names. Anybody doing what they're doing and what they're espousing, everything turns out to ashes and junk and filth. You know, one thing I said the other day for the first time ever. Never thought of it. But you go to these cities that are taken over by the socialists and the communists. They're always filthy dirty. They're disgusting. They're always dirty. And you know, I'm a clean person, and people I know are clean. And you are. I know you very well. You're very clean. But aside from crime, aside from all of the other problems, no jobs, no anything, no money, they're always filthy, disgusting, dirty. And that's what you'll get. You know, I won Michigan. I did great in Michigan. And we should win. We have a man. Mike Rogers is going to be fantastic. Now, I'm not a big believer in polls, but I believe in him somewhat. And based on the polls, he'll do much better against Abdul than he's going to do against the Congresswoman. Do you think, sir, that that the Republican Party is hitting home the facts that these people literally want to open up to prisons? They want to privatize. They literally want to get rid of of private insurance. They want Medicare for all, which means private insurance for none. Are they hammering that home so people get an idea of how radical these agendas are? Well, outside of you and people that happen to be in Fox and a few others, they don't talk about it. Really, they don't. You turn on NBC fake news or ABC, which is the worst of all, where CBS or CNN, any of them, they don't talk about that. They talk about as positive as you can talk, which isn't easy to do, but they don't talk about the consequences because it's all about the consequences. And a guy like this is just look at his views and then they change the views for the election. Now, they're actually having to go a little bit right, which is very hard for them to do. But it's a very sad thing when you look at it. And as far as the Republicans, like the Republicans talk about it, it's not put on. But they've got to get tougher. They've got to talk. And they've got to talk about how well we're doing. I watched Laura before and she was saying this is the most incredible. She's giving the numbers, the financial numbers of the trade numbers that just came out today. Our trade deficit is way down. There's never been anything. It's never gone down in history like it has during this a little bit more than a year. Think of that. And she was going over just point after point. I'm saying how many people report this? People don't know. Then they saw in the economy. Trump is at 42 percent. I shouldn't be afraid. We have the greatest economy, maybe in the history of the world for any country of 19.2 trillion dollars being invested in the United States. And if I wouldn't have won, you would have had 10 trillion being taken out of the United States and your welfare would have doubled and tripled. And we would have had a bankrupt. You touched on Iran there. You know, it's got to feel like Groundhog Day to you. So I mean, they're they're in. They want to deal the deals off. I mean, at what point do you say enough? And there's no coming back for Iran. Well, I I have plenty of time. You know, people talk about the midterms for the midterms. They want to see winning. You know, in Venezuela, we oh, people were so opposed to what I did in Venezuela. It lasted one day. And now they look, we're making hundreds of billions of dollars. And so are they. They're getting Venezuela is like a different place, but we're taking out hundreds of billions of dollars. They're taking out hundreds of billions of dollars. It's a different place. It's actually becoming me. They had the tragedy the other day with the with the problem, as you know. But there was a terrible problem. The earthquake, I guess you'd call it. It was a bad one. But outside of that, they have a country that is a very happy country again. But we are we paid for the cost of that war many, many times over. Where have you heard that? But everybody was against it. And then when I won, they all think it was great, but nobody talks about it anymore. So I have to talk about it. Nobody talks about the fact that we have the safest border in history. And I probably got elected partially, at least in big part, because of the fact that the border was so bad. Twenty five million people, you know, people say 14. It's only 19 or it's only 20 to 25 million people. Probably it's probably more than that. They came pouring into our totally unchecked and unvented pouring into our country. And many of these people are not the people you want in our country. We have drug lords. We have people from many people, millions of people from prisons, eleven thousand. You've heard me say it. Eight hundred and eighty eight murders, most of whom or many of whom committed more than one murder. We're getting them all out. We've got so many of them out. We're doing such a good job. But with the hardest thing we inherited, we inherited the worst inflation in the history of our country. But the worst thing we inherited was the fact that Biden allowed twenty five million people. They would not have qualified many of them, most of them, but many of them to come into the country. And we're getting them out. Why is it you think that nobody is talking about the fentanyl deaths? Fentanyl deaths have come way down since the border has closed. It should be one of those prime topics because we have saved tens of thousands of lives in the short period. You look at the numbers from just a couple of years ago, they have come down dramatically. It doesn't seem to be a topic. Sixty eight percent. I'll tell you what. By sea, by ocean. Ninety seven point two percent. Ninety seven percent. Now you've seen the pictures of the boats and it's all horrible. But when you think that each time you knock out a boat, you're saving ten thousand people. More than that. Probably they say twenty five thousand. You know, they're carrying massive amounts of fentanyl. And that's an occupation that's very hard to fill right now. Nobody does it. Nobody would have done what I did. But we are down over ninety seven percent in drugs coming in by sea. And now we've started a very heavy push for drugs coming in by land, which is actually comes through Mexico, which is actually much easier. The land is the sea is the hardest. But we we have a solution to that. Nobody's I mean, basically, they can't do it anymore. They don't get away with it. We know every boat that's coming in. We know who it is and what's on that boat. And it's largely fentanyl and other really bad drugs. So we're down ninety seven percent. But we're down the numbers on fentanyl. If you would have said that you were going to do that, nobody would believe it. They say it's just a politician talking much higher than anybody ever thought was even part. People thought if we could get it down two or three percent, it would be good. We get it down sixty seven, sixty eight percent. Nobody seen. And that's why your fentanyl numbers look so good. The markets were way up today. You had oil coming down to seventy five dollars a barrel. It was in the high sixties before the war started. Yet gas is still thirty percent higher than it was six dollars and twenty seven cents here in California. I paid yesterday. It's a little different thing because they charge taxes on gas every time every time it goes down, they take taxes. I mean, they've done a terrible job in California, but I think we're going to have it coming down to the oil companies have to start going. They're making too much money and they've got to start lowering it. But we're going to be down into the threes and maybe the twos pretty soon per gallon. We'll see what happens with the war. We have a very good day today. You know, they don't like to say that the Iranians, they always like to say we didn't discuss that. We didn't. People have found out that's not true. They had an all day negotiation today and it looks like things are very good. And if that happens with the straight has opened up, they'll never have a nuclear weapon. But if the straight opens up and it's partially opened anyway. And as you know, we control the straight totally through the blockade. But if we have no friction, then oil will go down to I think it'll go down to two and a half dollars a gallon. Two and a half dollars. You know, it was down to one eighty five before I had to make this little journey to the Islamic Republic of Iran. I had to make it. We had the best numbers that anybody's ever seen. But now you take a look with that going on. We have you just hit to get today. I think it's number seventy nine. Seventy nine days. We had an all time stock market. I have four or one case of the highest they've ever been by double and triple. Yeah. And then I read where we're doing badly on the economy. I just by the way, job numbers. We have more people working in the United States today than ever in history. We're doing an unbelievable job. Costs are coming way down. I inherited, you know, they talk about costs. I inherited very, very high costs. And they're all coming down now. The food, the groceries, it's all coming down. We've done a great job. You know, I think we should be given an A plus on the economy. But I think that's coming. People are starting to talk about it. I'm wondering, sir, I wanted to ask you about A.I. as the president. You know, everybody is. Everybody wants A.I. But everybody's scared of it. Right. Nobody wants the A.I. data centers in their backyard. But nobody wants China to have them either. How do you navigate that as the president of the United States? Well, a big part of it is China. Look, whoever wins the A.I. race is going to win. A.I. It's bigger than the Internet. It's bigger than maybe anything that has happened for many, you know, for literally hundreds of years. It is the biggest thing. And it's mostly good. And the communities that are giving a hard time now, a lot of people think that's China oriented. You know, that China doesn't want. They're spending a lot of money on promoting. Don't, you know, build because we're beating China in A.I. We're really doing a great job. I approve it was my idea, actually, for every plant that's built, they build their own electricity. So this way, they're building unbelievably modernized, you know, much better than anything we have had in the country. You know, these are super genius, as they know about building plants and they're building their own power. We need tremendous power for that. China is building massive amounts of power. We are, too. We're building more than China because every one of those buildings that you see going up is building their own. So they're not taken to the community and the excess power that they have, which is substantial. They're selling them that back at a very low cost to the grid. So we're getting more and more electric. Of course, there's nothing. I think any community that turns down A.I. is making a big mistake because your taxes are going to go way down. If you own a house, it's going to be more valuable. It's a tremendous thing. And I see it. It's almost like there's a there's a campaign against, you know, data centers. But data centers, if you look at the stats, everything's good around them. Now, the thing they should look at is blue states and blue cities, cities run by Democrats because that's really the threat to the country because they're a disaster. But when you turn down data, since and within this country where they get turned down, there's other communities that want them desperately. Two quick questions, sir. One, you're here to talk about the economy. Right. What's what's your big message? You want to leave one takeaway with this crowd? What is it? So tariffs have been incredible. We've taken in hundreds of billions of dollars. Supreme Court gave us a little shot, but we're allowed to do it in a different manner. They said that. But we are anyway. I mean, regardless, we have the law. I was doing it great. It was a very close decision. But we've done it a different way. And it's just frankly, it's just as good, a little more complex, but just as good. We took in hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs. And what it's done is it's brought all these companies that didn't want to pay. Because if you build here, if you make your car here like Toyota just announced they're building one of the largest car plants in the world. They're coming out of Mexico. Others are coming here at numbers, drug companies, A.I., yes, but not even talking about A.I. We're building more automobile manufacturing plants than at any time in the history of our country. For 40 years, we didn't build one, not one. Now we're building many and the biggest in the world. We're building them the biggest in the world. So I think if there's anything I say, our country is rocking and rolling. We've never been this successful. They don't want to talk about it, but they're having no choice. And again, whether it's Laura or Sean or Jesse or you, you have such a good show. I watch you all the time. Sometimes they tape it and watch it. It's OK. I don't know what they call it today. They used to call it TiVo. Maybe they still do. But I love TiVo or its equivalent. But you do a great you do a great job. Thank you. Really good.

Fake and Fraudulent Polling should be, virtually, a criminal offense. As an example, all of the Anti Trump Media that covered me during the 2020 Election showed Polls that were knowingly wrong. They knew what they were doing, trying to influence the Election, but I won in a Landslide, including winning the Popular Vote, all 7 of the 7 Swing States, the Electoral College was a route, and 2,750 Counties to 525. You can't do much better than that, and yet if people examined The Failing New York Times, ABC Fake News, NBC Fake News, CBS Fake News, Low Ratings CNN, or the now defunct MSDNC, Polls were all fraudulent, and bore nothing even close to the final results. Something has to be done about Fraudulent Polling. Even the Polls of FoxNews and The Wall Street Journal have been, over the years, terrible! There are great Pollsters that called the Election right, but the Media does not want to use them in any way, shape, or form. Isn't it sad what has happened to American Journalism, but I am going to do everything possible to keep this Polling SCAM from moving forward!

Video transcript 5:50

We are now joined by Tom Homan, the Border Czar. Welcome back, sir. How are you? And I guess it's one year later. You guys cleaned up Washington, DC. Well, look, America should be celebrating. President Trump, once again, promises made, promises kept. I mean, a year ago, like you said, he said, let's clean up DC. We're the strongest nation on the face of the earth. We should have the safest capital. This should be a shiny example of the entire world. And it wasn't. I mean, I would not walk the streets of DC two years ago without a concealed weapon. It's dangerous. The crime was rampant. Homicides were rampant. And in the year that President Trump has taken on DC, you're talking over 16,000 of them rest. You're talking almost 2,000 weapons, firearms, taken off the streets of Washington, DC. Now, I work in this city every day. Now, the city, I've never seen it so clean and so safe. Again, promises made, promises kept. I just wish cities like Chicago would take President Trump on his offer and help clean up Chicago and stop them massive shootings every weekend. Let's take a look at some of the numbers. Here's homicide, C03, please. We're talking down a very significant amount so far. Let me ask you, how much of this was an illegal migrant problem as opposed to, you know, American born and raised criminals? It was a big problem with illegal aliens in Washington, DC. Washington, DC is very proud of being a sanctuary. And when President Trump started this operation, we had more cooperation with the local PD than we ever had before on immigration related matters. I mean, you know, and that's just not Washington, DC, Greg. I look at the numbers. You know, June, June, ICE arrested more illegal aliens than any time in the history of the agency. In July, they blew June numbers away. The last two months, record deportation, never seen anything like it before under President Trump's leadership. But in DC, we took thousands of illegal aliens off the street and a percentage of them were public safety threats. They're no longer here. They're out of the country that have been deported. You know, I hear sometimes from some of my allies in MAGA and they feel, and maybe they're misinformed, that mass deportations have been scaled back, that we're not seeing the mass deportations that a lot of folks wanted to see. What would you say to those folks? I don't know what these numbers indicate. You say they're higher than ever before, higher than under Obama. So what do you say to those people who may not be satisfied? Look at the data. I mean, what I just said was, I mean, people said, well, we're not making many arrests who did last year. That's a bunch of crap. I mean, June was the highest month in the history of the agency. July, they broke another record. And I expect to break another record in August. We'll remove more people. Record number of arrests and deportations, despite the fact, now, this is what people need to understand. They think it's just, well, go arrest an alien and deport them. No, we got to find the alien who don't want to be found. We got to take him to detention. Then there's a process, get travel documents, get orders to remove them. It's just not a daily thing. It doesn't happen that easily. But record numbers in the last two months, despite the fact, we got over 100 nationwide injunctions filed against us. So we're constantly in court with these radical judges. We had, last count, over 65,000 habeas cases. That's 65,000 aliens that we weren't allowed to detain, which means now they're back in the wind. We got to go find them again. Radical judges in the sanctuary cities are trying to slow this down. And they have a little bit. But bottom line is, despite all that, despite the injunctions, despite the radical judges, despite the sanctuary cities, despite the difficulty removing aliens to countries that don't want to give us travel documents, we're making record. Historic number of arrests and deportations, despite all that, am I happy with the number right now? No, I want more too. And as we bring these thousands of more agents on, we expect those numbers to increase. And we're going to keep fighting. DOJ is fighting the sanctuary cities. We win some of those cases in sanctuary cities, you're going to see the numbers climb even further. I'm pushing for more work site enforcement operations, and that's happening now. So I expect the numbers to climb, even though they're historic, I'm not happy either. I want more. Real quick, this is President Trump from the Oval Office. Taking advantage of the birth tourism situation. C-0-9, please. How many individuals take advantage of birth tourism? Is there a number that you-- I'll tell you right now. Hundreds of thousands, okay? Hundreds of thousands. One man came in with a family head, said he had 56 children. Another one came in, they said they had 98 children. This was not what it was for. This was meant for the babies of slaves. It was right after one week or two weeks after the Civil War ended. And this is probably going to go probably back to the Supreme Court. I think that's where it's headed. Hey, listen, Tom Homan, we have to go. Real quick, Tom Homan, the border czar. Do you have a formal name like for your title, like the drug czar, is like the Director of National Drug Control, something or other. Is there a formal subtitle to border czar? Assistant to the president. There you go. I like it. Very prestigious. But maybe not as prestigious as border czar. Border czar has us. Border czar rocks. Border czar rocks. And remember, the other border czar we had made quite a change from the last border czar. We sure did. We sure did. I wonder if she could find that on a map. I really, really do. Tom Homan, thank you very much. The border czar and assistant to the president. To be continued, sir, and we'll be right back.

But it seems to me, if you are not allowed to raise questions about the validity of an election in your country, that's wrong. And I think the prosecution and persecution, I would even say, of Rudy Giuliani and some of these others was wrong, and I'm happy to see that Trump has issued these pardons.

Republican Kurt Alme is a terrific candidate for the U.S. Senate in the Wonderful State of Montana, which I love and WON BIG in 2016, 2020, and 2024. Kurt is one of the Strongest, and most Conservative, Republican Candidates in the Country, whereas his Opponent, Alani Bankhead, is a Radical Left Extremist, who will put our Country, and Safety, LAST. Kurt, on the other hand, will ALWAYS put Montana, and America, FIRST. Alani Bankhead is a Radical Left LUNATIC Dumocrat, whose values are not those of the people of Montana, or the United States of America — But the good news is that Kurt Alme is the PATRIOT that everyone is looking for, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement — KURT WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!

And the Trump mega political obituary has been written more times than Billy Bob Thornton has been married. From The Guardian, the signals of Trump's waning influence are everywhere. Back in January, the lazy libs at the Washington Post were sure that the so-called GOP backlash over the Minnesota ICE operations had signaled a tougher landscape for Trump. Now first, most incumbent presidents face midterm headwinds. We know that, Bush, Obama, Biden, Trump, all of them. But as far as Trump losing influence, that's just more wishful thinking. Now they thought Trump was really on the ropes when Indiana state senators bucked him on redistricting late last year. Indiana Republicans just handed President Trump one of his biggest defeats yet. I'm proud of the Republican legislators who took a stand. Donald Trump thought that he could come into the Hoosier cafeteria and take lunch money and he and his crew left with the black eye. Yeah, who has the black eye now? Well, it was back in December when Trump had promised to support primaries against those renegade Republicans. And when all the votes were tallied last night, five out of the eight GOP incumbents in the Indiana Senate who bucked him on redistricting lost to the candidates Trump had endorsed. Another one still too close to call tonight. Of course, they all could have just asked Trump impeachment queen Liz Cheney, how did her primary turnout back in twenty twenty two? It turns out Trump is just better at politics than most of these people. And he knew Wyoming voters better than Liz did. Now this is really why the left hates Trump, by the way, because he wins. After all, liberals only love Republicans who cave and lose. These Republicans in Indiana, you probably don't agree with them on much. I don't agree with them on much in terms of their policies, but they knew what was coming if they stood up to Trump. They stood up to him anyway. And I just wonder how different you think our country and our politics could be if more Republicans had that in them. I do believe a different kind of politics is possible. Oh, a different kind of point. Yeah, that man, by the way, ran for president and will again. The beard doesn't help. Now, the truth is Trump vexes all of them because he doesn't play by their rules. He never did. He called it as he saw it. The establishment was an abject failure, both on the left and the right. And he took them all out. He refused to be their political roadkill. And he never stopped fighting. He still not stopped fighting. Now, Obama is the smartest one they have in the Democrat Party still. There's no one who touches him. And even he could not stop Trump. So now Obama is relegated to going on some of these B list talk shows and pining away for the old days when Republicans just essentially agreed with him on everything. I'm worried about the Republican Party, not just the Democratic Party. I'd love a loyal opposition. I'd love a Republican Party that was conservative in some ways, that didn't agree with me on a whole bunch of stuff, but believed in rule of law and judicial independence and science and wasn't constantly tapping into our worst impulses. And there has been a Republican Party like that in the past, and I want to see that return. OK. Obama's worried. Did he talk about the rule of law, by the way? Yeah, he's worried. He's worried that the DOJ will finally nail everyone who had a hand in Crossfire Hurricane and that Brennan and Clapper will finally spill their guts about Obama's role in it. That's what he's worried about. The nerve of him talking about the rule of law. His intel community spied on Trump and lied in their FISA applications, and he likes a loyal opposition. Now, come on, he wants that old party back, the old GOP. Yeah, the party that got shellacked in 2006, in 2008, and in 2012. The mask is off. A decade since he left office, Obama seems to think that the only way to beat Trump and MAGA is to go full socialist. You look at somebody like Mondami, who I think is an extraordinary talent. He wants people to be able to afford housing in New York. He also, not only does he talk like a normal person, but he lives a normal life, but he also, he names what is obviously wrong. Yes. I love seeing those two spoon with Mondani. Now, the truth is, liberalism, it's already failed. It's failed in New York, it failed in Chicago, failed in St. Louis, failed in Los Angeles, in San Francisco, in Oakland, in Portland, in Seattle. The list goes on and on. But the red states, they're booming. Their populations increasing. And Donald Trump remains the most powerful force in politics, not just here in the U.S., but worldwide. And anyone, and I mean anyone trying to diminish him or MAGA, is either willfully ignorant or just plain ignorant. And that's the angle. Here with his thought is Matt Towery, political analyst and pollster. Matt, I think you and I have done this segment far too many times. You think so? Right? How many times have we done this? This is like insane at this point. Over and over again. Right? Right? No. Okay. Again, established, as you've pointed out, that the midterms are always tough for the party in power. They just always are. However, people will write off, of course, what happened in Indiana last night by saying, well, it was a primary election, state Senate House, doesn't really matter. What do you say to that claim? Oh, goodness. I'm saying it again. Donald Trump is a force unequaled in the Republican Party. And let me just go to this point. There was about a month or so ago, I think we were talking about a month or so ago, you had a group of Republicans saying, oh, he's diminished. The war is killing him. It's taking his polling numbers away. His polling numbers among Republicans are the best they've ever been. There's the height. He has as much power now. And by the way, he's an incumbent now. So when he makes these endorsements in these midterms, they're a lot more powerful than in 2022. So I think Trump is just is exactly what we've said for the last few months. And that is he's on target. He's still strongly Republicans. And might I add something about Obama? I polled 2008 for Politico. I polled 2008 for Politico. OK, I know why Obama wants to have that old Republican Party. I know because he crushed it. That's why he doesn't want Donald Trump because they know Donald Trump's too tough to deal with. I mean, Obama was out there, Matt, with all those celebrities. And in 2016 and 2024, he did the whole thing, getting Biden off the ticket. He was doing all sorts of jiu-jitsu and they almost put Trump in jail. They tried to. Trump comes back and beats them all again. He is so bitter. OK, that should be the banner. Bitter Obama. That's it. Bitter Obama. He's jealous of Trump and he's bitter about Trump. That's it. He is bitter. He is bitter. I have one other thing about the polling. I want people to know right now, the polling that you're seeing come in on Trump is incorrect. The reason it's off is most of these polls do not correlate. They don't wait to his last election. Donald Trump has a floor, basically, of about 41, 42 if he has an absolute worst day. He has a ceiling of about 56 or 57 because the rest of the country is so polarized you can only go that far. But he's got a loyal 43 to 44 percent on any day of the month. And when he's doing well, he's got 50 plus and the pollsters are wrong. And I'm right. I guarantee I'm right about that. I mean, again, I said this before. I will say it again. He has not even started campaigning yet. Right. I mean, he hasn't even begun. That's going to start. The war is going to get wrapped up sooner, the better for that. But when he starts campaigning, I mean, no one touches him. I'm sorry. I'm so sick of these articles about Wither Trump, Wither MAGA. They're all stupid. Don't pay attention to them. Matt, I got to get to this redistricting, though, because this is important. Alabama, Louisiana. They're debating this mid-decade redistricting following that Supreme Court ruling last week. Do you think the results in Indiana will play into any of the results there and whether there will be any hesitant Republicans who sit on the sidelines? Well, it's sure better because today I saw where South Carolina, he's putting, lobbing in bombs in South Carolina and telling these guys who said they wouldn't consider redistricting, he wants them to do it as well. Now, South Carolina has their primary in June, but he's flexing his muscles. The Georgia legislature just sat on their rear end and did absolutely nothing. They could have taken Sanford Bishop out, as we talked about last week, in a heartbeat. They didn't do a thing and nobody's talking about it right now. I don't know what they're going to do. I believe that Trump has started something and he's going to finish it. I guarantee you he'll get the job done. Matt, he's carried this entire party on his back for a decade, honestly. I mean, one person, with the exception of a few people like Ron DeSantis. But he's carried the whole party on his back. And these people are clueless when it comes to actually winning and governing because politics is supposed to be about the art of winning, so you could put your policies in place. Matt, final word. Oh, absolutely. And he's the best at it. And he's proved it again. We saw it last night.

Video transcript 6:01

Let's bring in Mark Smith, a constitutional attorney and a member of the Supreme Court bar. Are you making any predictions, Mark, about how the Supreme Court will see this case and rule on it? I think there's an excellent chance this is going to be the biggest victory of Donald Trump's career as a politician, frankly, to actually fix a constitutional wrong that has been a wrong for over a hundred years, largely because no one has had standing to sue over it until Donald Trump's brilliant move to enact this executive order, which finally, finally gave rise to the opportunity to get this issue before the U.S. Supreme Court. Up until that time, people did not have standing to sue because the only people that sort of got directly impacted by this, if you're born in the America, you're automatically an American citizen, they were beneficiary. So they obviously were not going to sue over this. And now because of Donald Trump, we're in front of the Supreme Court and hopefully we're going to get a good outcome in favor of the Constitution. John Dupree was on Fox News Sunday earlier today. He had this to say about how he sees the case. Listen. The birthright citizenship, like it or not, is enshrined in the Constitution. So I do think that the administration is going to have a bit of an uphill battle. But I will say this, having read the briefs, looked at what the administration is arguing, they have presented a much stronger, more compelling argument against birthright citizenship than I had thought coming into this. I don't know that it's going to be enough to get five votes in their favor, but they've made it a close case. Wasn't birthright citizenship originally supposed to help those who were slaves or children of slaves be recognized as U.S. citizens? That's right, John. The reality is that after the Civil War, the United States adopted the 14th Amendment. In the 14th Amendment's text, literally in the text, John, there's two components that have to be satisfied for you to be a citizen. The first is, yes, you have to be born in the United States, physically born in the United States. That's step one. But that's not the only step. You also have to be what's known as subject to the jurisdiction thereof. That is the text of the 14th Amendment that the left in America likes to pretend is nothing more than an inkblot. But the reality is that subject to the jurisdiction thereof, John, is very important because what it says is if you're born, you have to be born in the United States and you have to be loyal to the United States, which means you're not loyal to a foreign power. Now, if you're the child of illegal aliens or if your parents bring you here on a holiday and you're born here while your parents intend to go back to China, let's say, you're not loyal to the United States as understood by the law. You're beholden to another foreign country. And that is going all the way back, which, by the way, is why Native Americans were not citizens under the 14th Amendment. It required a change in the statutory law in the 20th century, John, to make Native Americans lawful U.S. citizens because although they were in the United States at the time of the 1868 14th Amendment, they were not loyal to the United States because they were loyal to their respective tribes. Jonathan Turley is a Fox News contributor, also a George Washington University law professor. Here's how he sees the argument. When the 14th Amendment was drafted, some of the drafters said explicitly that it does not allow for birthright citizenship. The problem are these six words, this clause, put in the middle of an otherwise clear sentence. But the key is that those words were not in that sentence in the original draft. They were intentionally inserted. So you can't just treat them as superfluous. They were inserted for a reason. And I think that there are compelling arguments on both sides here. So he seems to say that the drafters of the 14th Amendment made it pretty clear. Well, I think it's even clearer that in favor of Donald Trump, because in 1866, John, there was something called the Civil Rights Act passed by Congress. In it, it says to be a U.S. citizen, you have to be born in the United States and you cannot be beholden to a foreign power. After that law was passed, Congress realized that another Congress could come down the pike and change the law, basically making African-American, former African-American slaves no longer citizens. So to make sure that did not happen, they decided to take that Civil Rights Act of 1866 and enshrined it in the Constitution. And that is what the 14th Amendment became, which is why the phrase subject to the jurisdiction thereof is essentially embraced or comes out of that Civil Rights Act of 1866 that literally says you cannot be subject to a foreign power. It all turns on, are you and your parents loyal to the United States? And if you're just passing through on the way to Hawaii for fun or you're broke into the country illegally, that does not make you loyal to the United States. And therefore you're not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. And thus you're not a citizen under the text of the 14th Amendment. And I think that's what the Supreme Court is going to say. And the only reason, John, that we haven't said it before is because there's never been an opportunity to get in front of the courts because no one had standing to raise these kinds of arguments until now. Jonathan Turley says that virtually no nation in Europe allows birthright citizenship. Are you aware of any country in the world that does aside from ours? No, of course not. The most valuable asset on the planet period is becoming a United States citizen. You will get to be a citizen of the greatest country that has ever existed in mankind's history. Right. That's the reality of it. So to think that you would hand these out just because you happen to be born here because your parents broke into the country is simply absurd. You know, U.S. citizenship is a lot more than just taking free candy at the doctor's office. It requires a lot more than that. Specifically, it requires loyalty to the country. This is your home. And it can't just be that your parents are passing through illegally or otherwise, and you happen to get born here. That is simply not enough to give you U.S. citizenship. And the text of the 14th Amendment sort of proves that out, as does the history. We'll see what the Supreme Court decides. It's going to be a fascinating week and a fascinating term. Mark Smith, thank you.

Congressman Mike Lawler is doing a terrific job for New York’s 17th Congressional District! Mike will most likely be running against a Radical Left Democrat named Effie Phillips-Staley, who loves High Taxes, Open Borders, Anti-Semitism, Men in Women’s Sports, and Transgender for Everybody, among other CRAZY ideas.

Effie Phillips-Staley’s campaign has just been caught CHEATING, RED-HANDED, trying to file hundreds of fraudulent signatures to get on the ballot. Justice should be sought, and the fraud should be investigated, IMMEDIATELY!
