We won the First World War, we won the Second World War, we won everything before that and in between, and then we decided to go, "Well, can we change the name to Department of Defense?" So we're going Department of War. We beat the British, French, Mexicans, Germans twice, and the Japanese. Then we changed the name to Defense and fought to ties like soccer for the next 75 years. In the Cold War, we played D. Now we have to bring back what worked. We're going back on offense. This name change is not just about renaming, it's about restoring. Words matter. It's restoring, as you've guided us to, Mr. President, restoring the warrior ethos, restoring victory and clarity as an end state, restoring intentionality to the use of force. The War Department is going to fight decisively, not endless conflicts. This War Department, Mr. President, just like America, is back. It couldn't come at a better time. The Chinese military parade was a wake-up call. 60-foot submarine drones, hypersonic missiles, robot jets that can intercept airstrikes. Putin, Kim, and Modi even got a look at China's 600 nuclear warheads. Modi used to be our boy, but Trump said he went to the dark side. Whose fault was that? The soggy rose garden. I've been very disappointed that India would be buying so much oil, as you know, from Russia. I get along very well with Modi, as you know. He's great. He was here a couple of months ago. In fact, we went to the rose garden and the grass was so soaking wet. It was such a terrible place to have a newscaster. I said, well, let's use a beautiful white stone emblematic of the White House. Trump built a White House patio just for India. Modi had soggy loafers and bolted for Beijing. Can't have that happening. No one's taking us seriously with sinkholes at the White House and drag queens in camo. Next, dignitary that steps foot at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Trump has a surprise. An American flag bigger than the Empire State Building. Yeah, Trump wants the flag to be 776 feet wide and 1492 feet long in recognition of America's birthday. But before they see our flag, they'll hear our war secretary. The military has been testing out the hardware just to make sure it's not rusty. Remember China put on a nice military parade, but they're not battle tested. The Chinese haven't fought a war since 1979. They're wet behind the ears and American technology is two decades ahead. The Department of War sends a message. I think it sends a message of victory. I think it sends a mess, really a message of strength. We're very strong. We're much stronger than anyone would really understand. The name also reminds the country what the mission is. It's not DEI or nation building or padding invoices with $70,000 toilets in Iraq. It's about war, not fighting war, winning war. It's a vibe shift. Reestablishing deterrence so that when the enemy sees an American, they don't want to f*** with us. Because they know that we have the business end of the best warrior on the planet. We're reestablishing that, whether it's midnight hammer or freedom of navigation or narco traffickers that are poisoning the American people. Whether it's blowing up the Houthis, the Iranian nuke mountain or the cocaine speedboats on the high seas, America's enemies see there's a price to pay. When I see boats coming in like loaded up the other day with all sorts of drugs, probably fainted all mostly, but all sorts of drugs, we're going to take them out. And if people want to have fun going on the high seas or the low seas, they're going to be in trouble. I think anybody that saw that is going to say I'll take a pass. I don't even know about fishermen. They may say I'm not getting on the boat. I'm not going to take a chance. Maduro in Venezuela tried to counter by buzzing a naval vessel. So the War Department scrambled 10 F-35 fighter jets to Puerto Rico. I guarantee the rest of Maduro's air force stays grounded. We don't fly F-35s casually. They're the same fighter jets we use for Operation Midnight Hammer, and they cost 100 mil apiece. This isn't a drill. We have eight U.S. Navy destroyers and 10 F-35s in the Caribbean. We haven't flexed that hard in the neighborhood since the Cuban Missile Crisis. But panikins are worried. They're worried about what the cartels, not what they're going to do to us, they're worried about what we might do to the cartels. They're nervous about manifest destiny. What he's reaching for, Chris, is an idea of the country that was at the heart of the Spanish-American War. The idea of the country that led to Guam and Puerto Rico being territories. The idea of the country that intervened in Cuba, that had us intervening in Haiti. We can go down the line. American imperialism and empire of right. So you describe the country, you describe the Department of Defense as a Department of War because you're describing your intention, your wish. We're not colonizing Latin America. It's not strategic. Taking Greenland, that's strategic. I mean, we're protecting Greenland. We've been stuck in endless wars against Muslims and let the Chinese and narco terrorists sneak up and pump our cities full of poison. And now it's time to make them react to us. And we couldn't do it without the men and women in uniform who are answering the call and enlisting like we are at war. And for the first time in a long time, the country has your back. Democrats want you to forget all about the shutdown shellacking. So they're launching a smear campaign disguised as a bombshell. The Jeffrey Epstein emails. Congress is dumping thousands of documents and Democrats are using them to frame Trump. But we've been combing through them and can't find anything, anything nailing Trump. Even Axios says the emails contained no real smoking gun. The files do show Epstein's deep ties to liberals, like anti-Trump author Michael Wolf. He colluded with Epstein on how to blackmail Trump. Wolf towed Epstein in 2015 if you should let him hang himself. If he says he hasn't been on the plane or to the House, then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency. Why is Wolf giving a pedophile PR advice and coaching him to take down the president? That wasn't the only writer Epstein colluded with. A New York Times reporter gave Epstein a heads up that a former cop was investigating him for a book. That reporter was pushed out of the company after they found he asked Epstein for a $30,000 donation. Larry Summers, who worked for Bill Clinton and Obama, was also pen pals with Epstein. He was asking him for tips on women. Who goes to Jeffrey Epstein for dating advice? Epstein didn't just have ties to the Democrats and the media. He had foreign connections before Trump met Putin in 2018. Epstein was pitching himself to the Kremlin, saying he could give Russia insight on Trump. Which is weird because if the Kremlin was controlling Trump, like the Democrats accused him, why did they need insight? He wasn't just any old rich American. He was well connected to top players all over the world, from Israel to Saudi Arabia. And it wasn't a secret. Epstein went to Clinton's White House 17 times. And Slick Willie was a frequent flyer on the so-called Lolita Express. Clinton and Epstein seemed like pals. But when it comes to Trump, Jeffrey had TDS. "I have met some very bad people, none as bad as Trump, not one decent cell in his body." Trump should wear that like a badge of honor. The slimiest guy in the world, hating, he's a good thing. Epstein even admitted Trump, quote, "never got a massage." The same author Epstein colluded with even said this. Epstein believed that it was Trump who first informed the police about what was going on at Epstein's house. And from that point on, they were nothing but bitter enemies. So Trump dropped a dime on Epstein, but Democrats say they're best buds. And that Biden and Obama's DOJ had proof Trump was compromised. But waited three elections to keep it a secret. They arrested Trump over bookkeeping and want us to believe they had real dirt and didn't use it. The Epstein files were in existence and free to have been opened during the Biden administration. You were there for four years. How come you didn't open it as a Democratic Party then? What am I missing? Ghislaine Maxwell said Trump did nothing wrong, so have Epstein's victims and Epstein's lawyer. And none of these emails implicate Trump, so we're back to square one. Congress is playing games, holding fake votes to drop more files. But that's not going to happen because it's up to a judge and they won't release grand jury testimony. This is now looking more and more like a ploy to divide Republicans and smear the president. For a party that claims to care about affordability, they sure waste a lot of time on old emails. Primetime wants to get to the bottom of the Epstein saga more than anybody. We've been covering the story for years, but the story isn't about Trump. It's about foreign intelligence, blackmail and coverups. Christopher Rufo is a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and host of the Rufo and Lomez podcast. All right, Chris, what does your gut tell you about what's going on here? Look, I mean, Jeffrey Epstein is an increasingly and enormously powerful man, even in death. He is like a human hand grenade and both sides, both camps, keep trying to toss him onto the other side and hoping that it explodes. But again and again, the evidence suggests that while Trump did know Epstein, he did party with Epstein on occasion, he wasn't involved in any of Epstein's crimes. And in fact, when he figured out what was going on, he banned Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago club and resort. And so the president, I think, had successfully established boundaries and the Dems are just trying to agitate against him and trying to use whatever bits and pieces from these documents to get the president. But look, the president has been through a lot. He's been indicted. He's been arrested. He's been mugshotted. He's been shot through the ear. A couple of misrepresented snippets from these emails is not going to result in much. How do you think the Republican Party is handling the Epstein situation? I think the Republican Party in part has taken the bait and there's this scrambling about the various bills and the court hearings. It's so convoluted. It's given the Democrats an opportunity to demagogue against it. But I think overall, the best policy is one of transparency. The more documents can be revealed, the maximum amount the courts can let lose to the public. I think that's better. And I think the evidence should wherever it falls, it falls. The evidence thus far suggests that Trump had no involvement in the Epstein crimes. But I think certainly some very powerful people from all political persuasions and business and politics and academia and science are trying to keep these documents out of the public eye because look, some very powerful and very well known people were doing some very naughty things.
