France is America's oldest ally. Our cherished partnership has been a force for freedom, prosperity, and peace from the very beginning. We're now working on some very interesting developments, one in particular, as you know, the war between Russia and Ukraine. In the American Revolution, French support helped us to seize our destiny as an independent nation. In the First and Second World Wars, our citizens shed blood together on the battlefields of Europe. And I'll never forget joining President Macron six years ago in the 75th anniversary of D-Day. That was some day. The purpose of our meeting today is to end another battle, a really horrible one, a war, something that we haven't seen since the Second World War, that is ravaging European soil, the deadliest and most destructive conflict that one can imagine. I've seen the pictures. I've seen the satellite photos and lots of other photos, and it's a horrible thing that's happening. Thousands of people are dying a week. This very day is the third anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, which would never have happened if I was president. That was not going to happen. The horrors of this gruesome and bloody war can scarcely be overestimated. Hundreds of thousands of people, Russians and Ukrainians in particular, have needlessly died. An entire generation of Ukrainians and Russian men has been decimated. 1,000-year-old cities have been turned into rubble. Those beautiful spires that you used to see there -- they were most beautiful in the world, they say -- are lying in heaps of rubble, blasted to smithereens. It's time to end this bloodletting and restore peace. And I think we're going to do it. We've had some great conversations, including with Russia. Since my return to the White House, we've made more progress toward that goal in one month than occurred in the past three years. And I've spoken with both President Putin and President Zelensky. And again, a lot of good things toward peace are happening, moving it, I think, pretty quickly. Last week, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Advisor Michael Walts, and Special Envoy Steve Woodkopf conducted successful talks in Saudi Arabia with the delegation from Russia. And I'd like to thank the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the King and Mohammed -- great people -- really working hard to get this done. Our focus is on achieving a ceasefire as soon as possible and ultimately a permanent peace. My meeting with President Macron today was another important step forward in that sphere, because he's been very much involved right from the beginning in trying to get it over, and then we're going to get it done. I believe that Emmanuel agrees with me on many of the most important issues, chief among them, is this is the right time. It may be the only time. You know, that's a very interesting and horrible situation, and that could evolve into a third World War. We're not going to let that happen. Should have never started, but it did. And what a mess. What a horrible, bloody mess. I'm also pleased that President Macron agrees that the cost and burden of securing the peace must be borne by the nations of Europe, not alone by the United States. And Europe must take that central role in assuring long-term security of Ukraine, which they want to do. And that's not a very big step. A big step is what's going to happen over the next few weeks. The United States has put up far more aid for Ukraine than any other nation. Hundreds of billions of dollars. We've spent more than $300 billion, and Europe has spent about $100 billion. That's a big difference. And at some point, we should equalize. But hopefully, we won't have to worry about that. We have other things happening that maybe take that out of the realm of necessity. And while we've given vast amounts of military aid and money in form of grants, much of Europe's contribution has been economic relief structured as loans for which they'll be repaid. Like the Europeans, I believe, that taxpayers in the United States also deserve to recoup the colossal amounts of money that we've sent. The previous administration never even thought of that. They didn't think of a lot of things. Like, why did they let it start in the first place? That is why we must have an agreement with Ukraine on critical minerals and rarists and various other things as security. And I think that that's happening. I think we've made a lot of progress. I had a report just given to me before walking in, and that we've made, Emmanuel, a great deal of progress toward getting that. I've been elected by the American people to restore common sense to Washington and, indeed, to the world. And I believe strongly that it's in the best interest of the United States, the best interest in Europe, the best interest of Ukraine, and, indeed, the best interest of Russia to stop the killing now and bring the world to peace. My administration is making a decisive break with the foreign policy values of the past administration and, frankly, the past. I ran against a very foolish foreign policy establishment, and their recklessness has led to the death of many, many people. Under our administration, we're forging a new path that promotes peace around the world. And when I left office for the first administration, first term, we had no wars, we had no problems. We didn't have October 7th with Israel. We didn't have Russia and Ukraine going at it. We didn't have the problems in other parts of the Middle East. We didn't have inflation. It was a whole different world. And you know what else? We didn't have millions of people pouring through our borders, many of them criminals released from other nations and put right into our land, murderers and drug dealers, gangs. We didn't have any of that. It's a different time. But now we have it, and we're fixing it. We'll fix it all up, get it done as quickly as possible. And we've made a great deal of progress. People are saying it was the best month for a president in our country's history. I hope that's right, but I feel it's right. We've done a lot of things in a very short period of time, four weeks. As I've said before, it's my hope that my greatest legacy, however, will be as a peacemaker and a unifier. I want to bring peace, not war. I thank President Macron for joining us today in this urgent work we're doing. We have some wonderful people up front right here that have worked so hard. Steve Whitcoff, thank you very much. Great to have you on. - Well, I think, and hello, Mercedes, and I hate to cut off Sebastian. That really can be very dangerous. I don't like doing that. But I will tell you, I just watched it, very nonspecific. She didn't talk about many things like interest rates, China, fracking, and anywhere, let alone Pennsylvania, crime, poverty, trade deficits, child trafficking, woman trafficking, drugs, the border. She didn't talk about the most important things. It was a very general speech. And I ask a simple question. Why didn't she do it? She's complaining about this and that. It's never worked once. In fact, it's driven tremendous inflation and destroyed most countries where they tried it. But she's not a student of history, that I can tell you. So, I mean, I personally thought it was a terrible speech. It was very nonspecific. It was also very short. She just wanted to get off the stage because her ideas are bad. Look, she's a Marxist. She is a total Marxist, or beyond that. She skipped socialism. Remember, I said, we will never have a socialist country. Our country will never be a socialist country. I was right. They skipped socialism. She went to Marxism and communism. Mr. President, let me ask you this. During her speech, she mentioned something about an ant that you would push forward an anti-abortion coordinator of sorts. This is the first I've ever heard of this. And wanted to know that she's obviously trying to target these women voters. What's your answer to that? It's a total lie. I never even heard it. I never even heard the term. Well, they keep talking about Project 25, which is a group of pretty far right people got together. They did something called Project 25. I have no idea what it is. I don't want to read it. I don't want to see it. I don't want to know anything about it. But they use that. But they know that I have nothing to do with it. And that look, everybody knows all of my policies. Yes. And you know, in Roe v. Wade, we've taken that. We've made that. We've done what they wanted us to do. We brought it down. First of all, it's exceptions. We have the exception for the life of the mother and rape and incest. And that's like Ronald Reagan, like myself, et cetera. Most people, most Republicans agree with that. You have to follow your heart. But most Republicans agree with that. But that issue has been brought way back. It's now in the states taking votes, as you saw, Ohio, Kansas. And actually, they were far more liberal than a lot of people would have thought. But everybody wanted that issue brought back to the states. The legal scholars, Democrats, Republicans, everybody. And we did that. And you know, it's really become almost, I think-- look, I'm not going to say it's an issue that leans toward us. But people are happy. Every legal scholar wanted it brought back. They didn't want it in the federal government. And I was able to get it out, get it brought back to the states. And now the states are all voting on it. And it's where it should be. And I think you two agree with that. It's exactly where it should be. And this has gone on for 52 years. And now our country can be brought back and brought together. You know, it's wild. Five weeks ago, basically, the Democrats knew that she wasn't worthy of the presidency. Joe Biden doesn't like her. And here she is, the Democrat nominee. It's totally wild. Watching tonight, are you thinking about the debate? Did you see anything that you think you might be able to exploit? Does she look more beatable after tonight? Well, she lies. And she's not specific. And it was a very general-- it was like just a general speech. But I ask one question. Why didn't she do it before? In fact, she's got five months left. Why doesn't she leave the beautiful studio or wherever she is right now, hop on a plane, go down to Washington, DC, and close the border? Because she can close the border very easily. You know that. I didn't have a bill. I didn't ask for a bill. I closed the border. I told the Border Patrol, who are incredible people, and the law enforcement general, including ICE, close up the border, get MS-13 out of our country. We took them out by the thousands. Get them out. We got criminals out. We have the best border we've ever had. You saw the famous border chart, my all-time favorite chart, for even different reasons, OK? You don't understand that. But why didn't they close it? Why don't they go down to Washington and do these things? Why didn't she mention fracking? She didn't want to mention it. She will never allow fracking. She's just using that and saying it. You know, she's changed. She's the greatest flip-flop-er. Every single thing that she believed in all her life, she's now changed, because she wants to get elected. But if she got elected, she would never do these things. President Trump, you were down at the border today. You met with families that have been just so tragically impacted by these criminals, all on the watch of Kamala Harris. What's your message to Kamala Harris, knowing that she has never-- I mean, zero times-- gone to the border? She's presided over, as borders are, the worst border anywhere in the history of the world. Anywhere, not just here. Anywhere. Millions of people have been allowed to flow through into our country. People that came out of prisons and jails and mental institutions and insane asylums and terrorists, they're pouring in. But remember, the jail populations from countries all over the world are being allowed to come into the USA, the good old USA. And the jail populations are way down. Crime in other countries is way down, because they're bringing their criminals. You look at Venezuela, they've gone into Caracas, which was a very unsafe city, and now it's safe. In fact, someday the three of us will have to go there. No, let's bring your husband with us also, right? And we'll bring some of the other people that are with you, because I like the people that are with you. And we'll go to Caracas, because it'll be safer than any place in our country. She's destroying our country. They're allowing the criminals to come in from other countries into the United States of America. She is destroying our country. And nobody covers that better than Greg. Thank you, Mr. President. And you know what? We want to respect your time. But I saw you at the border today. Mercedes just brought it up. I saw you with those families. You have a big heart. I know you do. And anybody who doubts it doesn't know you, or they've been lied to about you. The fake news is, as you see, a monolith, and they are trying to do anything that can stop you. Going forward, next couple of months, is there anything you might be able to do, whether it's different, whether it's, I don't know, to show people who you really are, to get through all the lies that they heard about you tonight? They are lying about you constantly. I think there are good people out there, maybe even on the left, who might come to your side if they really knew what was at stake, if they really could find out who you are. Well, they do lie. And her speech was so many different things about social security. She's going to ruin social security, not me. She came up with things like, I'm going to destroy social security. I'm going to terminate it or something. It's crazy. And I didn't do it for four years. But she is going to terminate it because she's allowing illegal migrants to come in and be put on social security and Medicare. They're taking over our schools, our hospitals. They're destroying our country. And they're killing lots of people, killing and maiming lots of people. These are seriously criminal people. They're coming out of prisons. And the only thing good is that they make our criminals look like nice people. I mean, these are really rough, tough, vicious people. And she's allowed them to flow in by the tens of millions. I believe the real number is 20 million. And by the way, I don't know if you know this, Mercedes, but the father of Greg, the father of the man that you're with was a great police commissioner. I think he's a longest serving commissioner, police commissioner in New York. We could use Ray. We could use him because we really need guys like that. That man was something really special. New York was safe. But of course, he didn't have the problem of having hundreds of thousands of people coming in from prisons of other countries. We are like a dumping ground for the entire world. And this is not just South America. They're coming in from Africa, the Congo, in Africa, from prisons in the Congo. They're coming in from Asia. They're coming in from the Middle East. Rough places, so rough, rough places. And they're coming into our country. And what they're doing is just-- and it's just like today, the fraud that they're committing. 818,000 jobs, they defrauded the public. They thought it was going to hang out until after the election. But there was a leaker in statistics who in the Department of Labor that released the information. Almost a million people, they said, had jobs. We created new jobs. It turned out to be a total fraud. That's not a revision. That's not a revision, Greg. Not that number. That's the highest number anybody's ever seen. There's never been a number like that. Almost a million jobs. It was the fraud. There's no number. And they thought they were going to hold out until after November 5, the most important day in the history of our country. They're telling her stop screaming about fascism and start talking about the bread and butter kitchen table issues that motivate working class Democrats. - Some Democrats are concerned that you've pivoted too far away from talking about the economy and really prioritizing that in these final days of the election that you could end up losing some progressive voters and some working class voters because of that. What do you say to those people, especially ones who might be concerned that doing a big closing argument speech in a place like the Ellipse may be leaning more into talking about the threat of Trump to democracy and not his threats that you see to the economy? - One of the things that I love about the American people is we can hold many thoughts at once. - That's deep. Kamala's base is fracturing on the eve of the election because she's not talking about wages, healthcare and education. You know, things Democrats used to stand for before they got captured by the corporate class. Morning Joe keeps telling her to talk about Hitler and she's following orders because that's what she's done her whole life. She doesn't realize she can give orders now. She doesn't have to just do what she's told. Bernie Sanders who's won more, millions more primary votes than Kamala has ever won is warning the Democratic Party, we're gonna lose if we don't talk about the economy. But there's two problems. One, Kamala can't talk about the economy because she's the one who tanked it. And two, Kamala is afraid to be seen with Bernie. She was more liberal than Bernie in the Senate, but now she acts like they never met. That tells you how much of a hoax Harris's candidacy is. Democrats are now wondering who'd be more responsible for a Harris loss, Biden for dragging his feet or Harris. But there's plenty of blame to go around. Everyone's responsible. This is the second time the Democratic Party has circumvented democracy and chose. Yes it is. Hillary Clinton, Hillary Clinton was chosen and she had Bruce Springsteen too and what happened to her? And now we've chosen. - Hillary Clinton won a primary, okay? She won a primary. You may not like the back of the primary. - Nobody could compete with her, even Bernie Sanders. - She won a primary, first of all. That's the first thing. - So did Kamala Harris win a primary? - Listen, we've talked about this before. - What's wrong with talking about it tonight after what you just saw? - Do you think that's really what matters to voters? - How many Democrats wish? - Hold on, hold on a second. - Let's talk about what matters to voters. Do you really think voters care about the internecine primary? - If you're a Democrat, you sure as hell care today. - Kamala Harris is gonna lose because Biden waited too long to step down. Tonight, we're hearing Kamala is gonna be on stage with Beyonce, but the media has seen this before. - With 11 days to go, I gotta tell you to this reporter, it feels a little familiar because I remember these scenes from 2016 when Hillary rallied, Hillary Clinton rallied in Philadelphia with Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen. That event was basically a victory rally that was held before all the votes were cast. And we all know how it turned out. - You can't fuel a campaign with pop stars. Campaigns are about connecting with people, real people who have real problems. These real moments between the politician and the people, that's what makes and breaks a campaign. You can see one connects and the other doesn't. (crowd chattering) - It's about priorities and the people see that. Before Trump taped the Joe Rogan podcast, he was visiting angel moms whose offspring were murdered by Biden migrants. - Today, Kamala is here in Texas to rub shoulders with woke celebrities, isn't that exciting? We have many of them right here, the families, we have many of them and they're incredible people, what they've gone through, the hell that they've gone through and we'll continue to go through, unfortunately. Beyonce has every right to be in Texas with the borders are, but that's all Harris has. She doesn't have the people. She's not tackling our problems. You gotta get your hands dirty if you wanna be president. It's not an easy job. You can't worry about what everybody's saying about you. You can't hide from questions. You gotta aim for the problem, sell the solution and work your butt off. And if you see what's gonna happen and maybe you're depressed about it, call Carville and he'll do anything to cheer you up. I have an amazing story to tell you real quick about what President Trump's father, Fred Trump, did for myself, for my brother, for my sister, for my mother. 1974, my dad suffered a major heart attack. I went to the same school as Donald Trump, the Q foreign school. Three days after my father's burial, there was a knock on the door. One school morning, 7 a.m., I answered the door. And this morning, I let headmaster Mr. Philip Rogers know that from this day forward, myself, Fred Trump, out of my own pocket, is going to pay for your three children's tuition because I don't want the kids to have to go back into the public school system. And the tuition in 1974 was $2,500 per child, $7,500, which is about $80,000, $100,000 in today's money. And who would do that except the President Trump's father? The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree, and they give the Trump family grief. The Trump family is a wonderful family, the entire family, sorry. And who else?
