**Trump turns on John Cornyn over the Blanche nomination, insisting the "Fund" he defends "will not benefit me"**

On the day Trump held a televised Cabinet meeting at Camp David, his feed opened early with an attack on Texas Senator John Cornyn, who had declined to back Todd Blanche for attorney general. Trump claimed Cornyn only objected to a fund for people prosecuted under Biden after Trump's endorsement decision, and said he had personally given up payments that "would have been substantial." By mid-morning the hurt tone had turned to gloating, as he celebrated the departure of Indiana's state Senate leader and called him a fool who led his colleagues to defeat. In the afternoon he pivoted to the midterms, pointing to migrants "invading" Spain and warning the same would happen here, "only worse," if Democrats regain power, then signed off with a smiling photo and a reposted South Carolina Senate poll. None of his posts mentioned the Iran strikes or the Gaza deal he talked about at the meeting.

## A daylight Friday on Eastern time

The historian file places Trump at Camp David, Maryland, on Friday, July 31, 2026, for what the White House billed as the first live, televised Cabinet meeting. Camp David and the White House share Eastern Daylight Time (UTC−4), so the conversion holds whether he spent the night there or flew in that morning. The account posted five times between 7:03 AM and 5:30 PM EDT. Four of those posts have commentary (three written posts and a photo with no caption), and one repost has none.

The gaps run 3 h 47 m, then 5 h 20 m, then 1 h 20 m, and the last two posts land in the same minute. That is light volume for his second-term account. Every post falls in daylight, and the longest silence sits in the middle of the working day, so nothing in the timing points to lost sleep or pressured posting. The five-hour midday gap is the likeliest window for the televised meeting, but the file gives no start time.

## 7:03 AM: a denial of self-interest that names its price

The first post (ts_117014253232654593) answers Sen. John Cornyn's refusal to support Todd Blanche's attorney general nomination, which Trump also took up at the Cabinet meeting. It leads with a defense of the so-called "Fund," "which will not benefit me, but rather the great American Patriots who were hunted down like dogs and whose lives were unfairly and illegally destroyed by the Crooked Joe Biden Administration." The disclaimer comes with its cost attached. The commentary quotes him adding "I gave up any payments for myself, which would have been substantial." He denies the benefit and states its size in the same passage, which is the benefactor-martyr position the commentary describes.

The charge against Cornyn is about timing. Cornyn "never had a problem" with the Fund "until after I decided to Endorse and Support his". The excerpt breaks off there, so we can't see whose campaign that endorsement decision concerned. The commentary reads the passage as a loyalty test, with Cornyn's objection recast as opportunism.

This is the one post of the day built on injury, and persecution and power alternate through it. On one side is a "shocking and disgusting," "illegal and unprecedented raid"; on the other, a "landslide." The commentary codes the raid description and the "landslide" as distortions. They are the two false claims among roughly ten checkable assertions across the written posts. The day's most violent image, "hunted down like dogs," casts his own supporters as the prey. It blames a former administration and asks no one to do anything, which is why it adds nothing to the danger reading.

## 10:50 AM: the register turns to announcement

Three hours and forty-seven minutes later the wounded tone is gone. ts_117015146759027639 opens "I am pleased to announce," the phrasing of an official statement, and spends it on another man's loss: "the man who so foolishly led the Indiana State Senate, with almost every Candidate losing their Race, many of them in Office for years, will not be seeking Re-Election as Senate President because he wouldn’t have had a chance to be elected." The commentary identifies him as Rodric Bray and ties the grievance to Indiana Republicans' failure to deliver a redistricting outcome. The excerpt never uses his name. According to the commentary, the rest of the post calls him a "FOOL," sets "wayward Senators" against loyal Indiana, and claims the "Highest Vote in the History of the State." It routes the threat through elections, promising they will be "met by us at the Indiana Polls." Losing the leadership post is not enough for him: "Better yet would be if he wo..." is where the excerpt cuts off.

The anger here is gloating rather than hurt. The Bray news had its own occasion, so the order of posts does not prove the morning's injury was displaced onto him. What the order does show is his tone recovering inside four hours. At 7 AM he was listing what he gave up; by 10:50 he was announcing what someone else lost. The Cornyn and Bray posts follow one rule: Republicans who cross him lose standing and hear about it from him. Nothing in one post conflicts with the other. The Bray post's opening sentence runs long and stays on track, which is his ordinary syntax.

## 4:10 PM: a video about Spain recast as a midterm warning

After the midday gap the target moves from Republicans to Democrats, and the audience moves from officeholders to voters. ts_117016403652131870 takes an attached video about Spain and applies it to the United States: "What’s happening with Spain, with tens of thousands of Illegal Immigrants invading it, happened in the United States during the Sleepy Joe Biden Administration, and it will happen again, only worse, if the Dumocrats ever again gain power. DON’T LET OUR COUNTRY BE DESTROYED. VOTE REPUBLICAN."

The day's danger reading comes from this post, which contains no anger. The reading rests on "invading," which makes migrants an attacking force, paired with "DESTROYED" as the stakes. The instruction attached to that fear is "VOTE REPUBLICAN," and the post names no one. Over the whole day, the two named men (Cornyn, Bray) got ridicule and threats aimed at their elections. The one dehumanizing frame fell on an unnamed group and ended in a voting instruction. No post pairs a named person with language inviting action against him, so the day shows no stochastic-terrorism pattern. The file does not verify the Spain figure. "Dumocrats" is one of his recurring coinages, and the post is short because it rides on a video.

The prior administration appears twice under two nicknames. In the morning it is the "Crooked Joe Biden Administration" that destroyed lives; in the afternoon it is the "Sleepy Joe Biden Administration" that let an invasion happen.

## 5:30 PM: a photo and a poll, with none of his words

The day closes with two posts in the same minute. ts_117016718934084117 is a news-style photograph with no caption. It shows Trump smiling with his eyes nearly closed on a stone patio, in front of a rustic wood-shingled building whose door label begins "AS." The lodge setting fits Camp David, but the description cuts off before the word ends. ts_117016718142773652 reposts a Trafalgar tracking poll (7/28–30, 989 respondents) of the "SC GOP 2026 Special Election for US Senate": Darline Graham 27.0%, Russell Fry and Ralph Norman 17.4% each, Mark Sanford 15.1%. He added nothing to it. A press photo with no text, posted alongside a repost, says little about who composed either. The poll does continue the morning's subject: three of the day's five posts concern who holds or wins Republican seats.

## The Cabinet meeting's news stayed off the feed

According to the historian file, Trump used the Camp David meeting to say the U.S. would hit Iran "very hard," with strikes planned as soon as the weekend. He also described an understanding with Israel on Gaza. None of that reached his posts, whose written attention went to party discipline and a midterm message. Several other items in the event file don't fit this date and carry no weight here: an Epstein filing deadline set for "Thursday, July 31" (this July 31 fell on a Friday), a June steel-tariff change, and the New Year's America 250 launch.

## A comeback over a different opponent

In order, the posts move from injury to triumph to campaign confidence to a smiling photograph, which gives the day a redemption shape. The recovery, though, is claimed over a man already beaten. The Cornyn fight, with Blanche's nomination attached, is still open at the end of the day, and the win on display belongs to Indiana. Rage appears only in the two morning posts and does not build. Intensity rises modestly from the Cornyn post to the Bray post and falls after it, so the day peaks mid-morning and then eases. Over the day the posts turn from punishing Republicans to rallying them, and no other topic comes back more than once. Syntax and argument hold steady across all three written posts.

### Narrative

The day moved from grievance to triumph to campaign mode. It opened with its only wounded post, which answered Cornyn's break over the Blanche nomination with a story of personal sacrifice and persecution. Within four hours the tone had flipped to gloating over an Indiana Republican leader who had already lost, a win he could claim while the Cornyn fight stayed open. The afternoon turned outward to a midterm warning about immigration, and the day ended quietly with a photo and a poll.

**Image** (photo), described automatically; these are a machine's words about the picture, not the poster's:

> A news/candid photograph of a man resembling Donald Trump, with light-colored combed-back hair, standing outdoors on a stone patio, smiling with eyes nearly closed. He wears a dark navy suit, white dress shirt, and a striped light-blue tie, with an American flag lapel pin. Behind him is a rustic wood-shingled building with green wood siding, a stone-and-wood entryway with a wooden door labeled "ASPEN" above it, flanked by two lantern-style wall sconces. To the left is a raised stone flower bed planted with red and white flowers. The setting appears to be a lodge or resort building, possibly named "Aspen."

Rodric Bray should be ashamed of himself for costing our Country, mainly the Republican Party, two U.S. House Seats, and for costing all of his colleagues who went along with him, an Election loss! Isn’t it amazing how Politics works? I want to thank the Great State of Indiana for your support, not only in my Presidential Election, which we won with the Highest Vote in the History of the State, but also for your support in getting rid of wayward Senators, led down the Path of Destruction by a FOOL named Rodric Bray. Indiana, I will never forget your loyalty! President DONALD J. TRUMP

> John Cornyn never had a problem with the so called “Fund,” which will not benefit me, but rather the great American Patriots who were hunted down like dogs and whose lives were unfairly and illegally destroyed by the Crooked Joe Biden Administration, until after I decided to Endorse and Support his Republican Primary opponent in Texas, who easily won the Nomination for the United States Senate. Perhaps there has never been a group of people treated so badly in our Nation’s history. They are suffering still, many ruined, and I felt that they should be given compensation for what has been done to them. I gave up any payments for myself, which would have been substantial, including for the illegal and unprecedented raid on Mar-a-Lago, my home in Florida, even though many legal experts, and others, including John Cornyn, said it was a shocking and disgusting display of “weaponization” against me. Such an event has never happened before, and hopefully will never happen again! I will always feel that these victims of government abuse should be paid back for what they were forced to endure, their lives have been ruined! Millions of people agree with me, as was proven in my landslide Presidential win, where this was a major subject of debate, and so did John Cornyn, until he lost his Election to an opponent that I Endorsed. Todd Blanche, a good man, should be immediately approved as U.S. Attorney General. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
