Multiple Minnesota judges are under fire for dismissing several recent Somali fraud cases. They are Judge Sarah West, Judge Amber Brennan, and Judge Hilary Kalagiri. In Pennsylvania, seven election officials had been hit with election fraud charges destined in the last year and a half. From cases of illegal voting to tampering with voting machines and adding phony votes. You know, a 2012 report by a Philadelphia Republican City commissioner found voting by non-registered individuals, voting divisions with more votes than voters, individuals voting more than once, and voting by non-U.S. citizens. And election fraud actually hit the race for the White House in the 2008 race. Democratic operatives in Indiana were convicted of faking signatures on the presidential petitions that put then Senator Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on the ballot. So many signatures were phony that authorities said the president may not have actually had enough signatures to qualify for the primary ballot. Is that your signature on this? - That's not my signature. - Did you sign this petition for Barack Obama? - No, no. - You did not? - No. - I did not sign for Barack Obama. - So someone forged this. - That's correct. - Well, so this is how it worked in Indiana. It is unbelievable. You need 500 signatures from each congressional district in Indiana. In South Bend, President Obama qualified with 534 signatures. The prosecutor said 100 to 200 signatures were faked. So that brings the Obama number down below the legal number that he needed to qualify. The prosecutor told me, had this been caught at the time, Maria, the president probably would not have qualified for the ballot and would have been bounced from that primary ballot. But, oh, this fraud wasn't caught until three years after the election. - This is unbelievable.

And so the fifth congressional district, and we call together this press conference in the wake of yesterday's article in the Minnesota reformer about my opponent, Representative Omar. She paid her husband, Tim Minette, $3 million of campaign money. And the way her time in office has given his business access and credibility as a misappropriated more than $1 million in money from South Dakota investors. They left workers unpaid and found the funds frozen by the office of foreign assets control the U.S. Treasury Department in charge of enforcing sanctions. Unfortunately, this story is just the latest scandal in a string of new stories about represented Omar that narrow the focus on her and bring us further from the type of progress our district and our country needs around issues that affect the lives of our neighbors. Representative Omar has used her time, her three terms in Congress, what many would consider the opportunity and honor of a lifetime to divide our community and enrich herself in the process. Minnesota reformer, reporter Max Nestor, Nestor X article mentions at least three of the businesses that Tim Minette and his partner, Will Haler, started. The first was their political consultancy, which received an unprecedented sum of money from Representative Omar's 2020 race, where she raised in millions, raked in millions of small dollar contributions from across the country during the election cycle. Three million dollars was spent with East Street and a large portion of that money went directly back into her own household. After that, Tim Minette and his business partner, Will Haler, started a winery, a decision made when one of their marketing clients apparently offered them grapes in lieu of money. The winery left its workers unpaid and is currently being sued for breach of contract, a bizarre arrangement where they agreed to return an investment of 300,000 with a return of 900,000 dollars just 18 months later.
