Six people were killed, and 24 people were shot, in Chicago last weekend, and JB Pritzker, the weak and pathetic Governor of Illinois, just said that he doesn't need help in preventing CRIME. He is CRAZY!!! He better straighten it out, FAST, or we're coming! MAGA. President DJT

We knew that something was going wrong with the homeless system in Los Angeles. So in May of last year, we had an audit. The court made this audit report public, and it really is damning. It shows the city and LASA are in complete disarray in terms of how they are managing the homeless services in Los Angeles. The auditors had such a difficult time getting information. They couldn't even figure out the total budget. They estimated that the amount of services that they were able to really review was about $2.3 billion. There's more, but they can't find it. They would ask about the city of Los Angeles budget and who they contract with, and all of those pointed to LASA, the Homelessness Coordinator for the region. The city has no real way to determine how much money they spend on homelessness services. And LASA has no way of holding a lot of these non-profit. They contract where accountable. Sometimes LASA pays for services without even contract. And these contracts aren't even detailed in terms of what the service was provided and for how many people. They have really poor financial oversight, and at the end of the day, they can't determine whether or not the services are being provided. If they're being provided more than once and billed more than once, the city is paying for empty beds. When people are going homeless on the streets, it really is a problem.

I used, at the White House, the most beautiful marble and stone available anywhere. Surfaces are very important to me as a Builder. As everyone knows, I built many GREAT Buildings, and other things, over the years. At the White House, I am very proud of the beautiful stonework we did in the Rose Garden, in this case, using limestone plus. The Rose Garden is completed, and far more beautiful than anyone ever had in mind when it was conceived of, decades ago. Three days ago, while admiring the stonework, I happened to notice a huge gash in the limestone that extended more than 25 yards long. It was deep and nasty! I started yelling, "Who did this, and I want to find out now!" — And I didn't say this in a nice manner. I wondered, "Was it vandalism or, was it stupidity?" Lo and behold, because of the fact that we've installed the finest security equipment anywhere, they brought back the stupid people, with their boss watching (in sunglasses!). It was a subcontractor that was installing heavy landscaping on a steel cart that was broken and tilting badly, with it rubbing hard against the soft, beautiful stone. I love and respect great workers and contractors, but something like this should never happen. Now, I'll replace the stone, charge the contractor, and never let that contractor work at the White House again — But, how great is the video equipment? We caught them, cold. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

And as we commemorate Labor Day this year, we finally have a president who fights and delivers for the American worker every single day. President Trump believes that American workers are the heart and soul of our economy and our national identity, which is why he's championed an agenda that puts them first always. For decades, the hardworking men and women of our country who built the greatest nation in world history were sold out by selfish, greedy, short-sighted globalists who put our country on a path to economic and cultural ruin. They hollowed out our factories in towns and betrayed the American working class by shipping jobs overseas and importing millions of low-wage migrants to replace American workers. Under President Trump, this national disgrace is over. American workers are, once again, being put at the center of national trade policy and the dignity of American labor is being defended. As a result, President Trump has already brought in nearly $10 trillion in new private and foreign investments so that the top businesses in the world can create high-paying jobs in America and hire American workers to fill them. In fact, since President Trump took office, the economy has added more than half a million new jobs to the workforce. In a stark reversal from the Biden administration, all of that job creation has been driven by private sector growth and all employment gains have gone to native-born Americans. Wages for blue-collar workers are now rising at the fastest rate in the past 60 years. And the average American worker has already seen a $500 wage increase this year alone. Thanks to the largest middle tax cuts ever signed into law by President Trump with no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security, Americans in all 50 states will keep more of their hard-earned money. The average American taxpayer will see a tax cut of nearly $4,000 because of these pro-growth provisions, according to analysis from the Nonpartisan Tax Foundation.

I get reports every day of those in our lives, especially the lives of veterans, who are no longer with us. Some have actually went on VA property and taken their own life. No matter what number you use, I'm firmly convinced that one is too many. I'm firmly convinced that if we as a society and we as a government call the VA do not care, then the rest of the world will not give a damn about us. It is us that has to take the priority. It is this VA that has to take priority, and it is you in back home, in your communities, in your town halls, in your places where you go to worship, in your places of laws, everywhere you go, you've got to take the accountability for each other because if we don't, then we'll continue to lose them. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, twelve, twelve, sixteen, seventeen. At the end of this day, we'll not be with us anymore. Not every week, not every month, today. So as we gather to celebrate, the Legion coming together, the VA doing what it's supposed to do, and that's to take care of veterans and quit worrying about the bureaucracy. I challenge each of you. When you get up in the morning, or before you go to bed in the evening, count to 17, and then say, "I will be the one." I won't take "I'm fine" for an answer any longer, and I'll commit to you. As Secretary of the VA, I will wake up every day with one thing and one thing on my mind, is how do I do what the President told me to do? I'm going to take care of veterans, and that's all I'm going to do.
