I am pleased to nominate Ed Artau to serve as Judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He is currently a Judge on Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal, previously serving as a Trial Judge on Florida’s Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court, and as General Counsel to the South Florida Water Management District. Ed has a GREAT track record of restoring LAW AND ORDER and, most importantly, Common Sense (which is, sadly, rare these days!). I know Ed will do a GREAT job for the State of Florida, and our Nation. Congratulations Ed!

I am pleased to announce the nomination of Anne-Leigh Gaylord Moe to serve as Judge on the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Anne-Leigh has fiercely advocated for Sunshine State residents as a Judge on Florida’s Second District Court of Appeals, and as Trial Judge on Florida’s Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court. Anne-Leigh will prioritize LAW AND ORDER unlike other activist Judges who put the safety of Illegal Criminals over the safety of AMERICANS. Congratulations Anne-Leigh!Â

That's the difference between President Trump and previous administrations. He actually supports us and he puts his money where his mouth is. He has 100% supported the Border Patrol. He has always given us the tools that we need to get the job done. And we've run into hard opposition from Democrats who did not want to admit there was a problem in the first place. And because they didn't want to admit it, they didn't want to give us the tools and resources to fix the problem. President Trump came in and he said, I've seen it. He's been there. We've taken him to the border many times. And he knew there was a problem. He knew how to fix it. And that's what he's doing. So it's great.

Video transcript 2:43

Tell me why you decided to become a border patrol agent. For me, it was about the adventure. I mean, I've done a lot of jobs before this, and after joining the border patrol and the freedom of exploration being outside, I couldn't imagine doing any other job. Ma'am, tell me how difficult it is. As you see these drug smuggling, you know, for the cartel, it's their loot. This is how-- this is their survival. This is their criminal enterprise. It can be dangerous as well. Tell me about it. Yeah, it's dangerous work, but our agents are well trained and brave, and we're ready to handle anything. We back each other up so much. So it's about the person next to us and how we can all go home at the end of the day. We were talking about some of the impact that you guys have had, and I think the numbers speak for themselves. You look at 21-- over 21,000 pounds of fentanyl that was seized in 2024, 23,000 rescues. Those are Americans and non-Americans. And then 1.6 entry apprehensions. Those are the ones that we know, 1.6 million apprehensions at the border for fiscal year 2024. What can we be doing as the public to be supporting you guys more? Well, coming from a smaller station on the northern border, we rely a lot on the public, and we always tell them if you see something, say something. We're handing out magnets. We're constantly doing community outreach to involve people in our mission. Ma'am, what is the number one misconception about the Border Patrol and what you guys do? The number one misconception. We're not just on the border doing law enforcement missions. A big part of our job is also humanitarian. A lot of humanitarian missions. We both are part of the Border Patrol search trauma and rescue team, and we've been a part of hundreds and hundreds of search and rescues. Supervisor Special Agent Munyils, I've noticed a morale shift. I was just at the border with the K-9 unit, and I saw the work that we're doing, and it seems like all the men and women are excited again about doing their job. Where's that excitement coming from? I think the excitement has always been there, honestly, because we're super proud to put on this uniform day in and day out. There's so many people who have done this before us and paved the way, and it's our responsibility to do that for future generations. I want to just thank y'all so much for what you do. It makes me proud to be American, that we have people that are defending the homeland. Without you guys, the border would be running rampant right now with criminal enterprises there, and because of what you guys are doing, the cartel is on the run. So thank y'all so much. We appreciate you all. Thank you. To all the rest of the guys and gals at y'all station, we appreciate them as well. Thank you.
