And Walz is also accused of abandoning his platoon, quitting before that deployment to Iraq. Despite his prior claims, Walz never served in a war or a combat zone. Earlier tonight, a guest on the Ingram-Angels show, Laura, had this to say about Walz's time in the Guard. Watch this. Yeah, he was in for 24 years and he quit. Well, okay, so that's what you did. But don't try to make it look like you were a command sergeant major. Don't try to make it look like you were going to some place that was in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. And again, to reiterate, he instead chose to retire, got demoted from that rank as a result, never deployed. A statement from the Harris campaign also confirms that after 24 years of military service, Walz retired in 2005 and says he will continue to be a champion for veterans should he become vice president. It's still reporting other newspapers still reporting. He retired as a command sergeant major. He did not. And I think that that's important. It's on the record from the national guard. It isn't that hard for journalism to get it right. Yeah. Pete, is this a case of stolen valor as, uh, well, people he served with now claim and did he also lie about being a head coach? He did. He was an assistant coach. He was a linebackers coach, a defensive coach. That's great. That's important, but not the head coach. Uh, John Solomon is completely correct. This is a guy who ran for Congress in 2006 while his men were doing 22 months in Iraq, 22 months, the Minnesota national guard ended up doing in combat in Iraq. And you know what they can't do when they're deployed? They can't speak. So they couldn't contradict the claims he was making that he was the highest serving enlisted member ever to be elected to Congress. He retired when he was a command sergeant major, but he was actually just a sergeant major. And to keep that rank, you have to complete the sergeant major's academy, which he never did, which means when he quit, he gets demoted to E eight was a master sergeant. He knew that when he retired, he knew it when he claimed to be a command sergeant major. It was all lie. And that is absolutely stolen valor. And by the way, he likes to say he was in support of operation, enduring freedom. I deployed to Guantanamo Bay in 2004. We were not in combat. We were in support of what we're doing in Afghanistan. Cause they were sending the Taliban over. I never claimed to be in combat. Yet he all pull the tape. Let's find him, Sean. They're all over the place. I would normally serve anybody. I would normally praise anybody that served in the guard. I normally would, but he referred to guardsmen as 19 year old cooks. We can make sure we don't have reciprocal carry among state and we can make sure that those weapons of war that I carried in war is the only place where those weapons were at. Okay. Well, he never carried a war. Never. That's why he was in Italy for six months supported. That's fine. Total lie. And he knew it at the time in the entire time he was, he was the command sergeant major. He's in charge of the logistics, the training, the emotional support, the preparation for every man in his battalion, a field artillery battalion, a very important role if you're headed to Iraq. And when he got the orders and the notification that his men were going to combat, he said, I quit. I'm out. I'm done. And he had two years left. Exactly what happened. And he had two years left in his contract, but he was beyond his retirement. So he could work his way to get out of his contract, which he did. You know what the real, the real phrase is for guys that serve with Tim Walz is no, it's Tim a walls, exit questions. When his men needed him, he left, he bailed. He did not deploy. He spent 24 years in the military, Sean. You go with your men to combat if you care about those men. But if you don't, you care about yourself and politics, you stay home. And that's what Tim Walz did. And that's why so many people are frustrated and angry about this. He's Tim a walls in my book. It's interesting, uh, the lie about George W. Bush ended Dan Rather's career over a similar issue. Uh, my question is, is this stolen valor John Solomon? Listen, it's a lie to the American people. They're doing that enough. But it is important to note that not only are they creating a force field behind more abortions in their state, and I read some research today that 5,000 women who went in to have an abortion said they just didn't feel like having another child. They will highlight situations that seem extreme. But at the same time, Sean, what's deeply concerning is that they're defunding pregnancy centers. These centers are ones that I've worked with on a national level that actually comfort women, don't cast shame on them. When they find themselves in a situation with an unplanned pregnancy, unexpected pregnancy, they provide them sustainable support and equip them to have an awesome, peace-filled life with their child because God cares about both the mom and the child, and they have options and support. I'm deeply saddened that this is increasing, but not surprised that the radical agenda is running on this. Sean, they're just not supporting it. They're running on this. Actually, they should fear the day they meet their own maker. I would love to know of Wahl's wife if she took prenatal vitamins at any point. Do they value life in the womb as they should? It has a value. It's an amazing creation by God with a plan and a purpose. And if there's a woman out there who needs to know that she's valued without shame, she should go to these pregnancy centers. And Americans watching, if you feel like there's nothing you can do, go support them. Go donate to the pregnancy centers that he's defunding in his state and put some money behind them because they're doing good things in supporting women. Our family has decided to walk this out in a different way. We have taken in, and it's been a blessing to us newborns who would have otherwise potentially been aborted, but they found, their moms found pregnancy centers that supported them. And for the first month of life, that mom just needs to know that their support, their sustainability with the plan, that they're loving arms to hold her baby and maybe she's reunited in some cases and maybe that baby is placed. But there are options out there that this radical riptide wants eliminated and we need to stand for our children. - You know, it's just sad. I mean, okay, up to the moment of birth, talk about radical on abortion, no parental rights on something as serious as that. Another person didn't like what they were seeing at a bar. I was concerned for the health of all who sat at the bar with no masks. Usually, it isn't busy enough to worry Thursdays or bingo night and continues to be a problem on that specific night. And someone got humiliated at the golf course. The beverage cart girls were not wearing a mask and laughed when I asked why they weren't. You can learn a lot from people based on how they react in a crisis. He's lying. And he's been giving reporters the impression that he's been a combat vet for years. Bloomberg putting out a piece saying Waltz served, quote, "in Iraq as part of Operation Enduring Freedom." Waltz never went to Iraq. And Bloomberg had to retract it. Waltz put out a campaign press release claiming he was a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, claiming he served on the ground in Afghanistan. He never served in Afghanistan. Waltz told the Atlantic he just returned from fighting in the war on terrorism. Waltz never fought anywhere. He abandoned his unit, left his battalion hanging, right before he was supposed to deploy to Iraq. - I was like, well, for Pete's sake, this guy quit. And if I say I'm not gonna do it, I mean, what the hell kind of leadership is that? If a company would say that we're gonna deploy to Iraq or somewhere and you're gonna be gone for whatever amount of time, and then a foreman just says, no, I'm not going. I mean, what does that say to the 500 people that worked in that factory? He was a congressman. He bragged that he was a retired command sergeant major. I'm the highest ranking person ever in the house and all this lie that he was telling. And there was lots of public, lots of cards coming in the mail for him to be elected. They said right on, he's a retired command sergeant major, just tooting his own horn, just hanging on the coattails of people that actually are command sergeant majors that went through all the process and put all the time in, stolen valor is really what it is. I don't know if anybody else has done what he's done, but we called it the truth about Tim Waltz. - Waltz ditched his unit, got demoted, lied about his rank and lied about fighting overseas. And Kamala Harris chose him to be a heartbeat away from commander in chief. This is devastating to the Democrat ticket. Republicans and Democrats, every American, physically revolted by men who lie about their service. Did Kamala vet the so-called vet? It's the only decision she's ever made in the last four years. What bothers me about Tim Waltz is the stolen valor garbage. Do not pretend to be something that you're not. America, for some folks, they're just getting to know Coach Walz's story. He is a veteran who served our nation in uniform for more than two decades as a member of the Army National Guard. For 24 years, I proudly wore the uniform of this nation. The National Guard gave me purpose. It gave me the strength of a shared commitment to something greater than ourselves. And as the Harris campaign highlights Walz's military service, well, they left out a major detail. When his battalion deployed to Iraq in 2006, he wasn't with them. He retired. He said he wanted to run for Congress. But some of the men serving in his battalion say he abandoned them and only retired once he found out they were getting deployed. Now, when he was asked about it late today, well, Walz adopted Kamala's M.O. and simply refused to answer the question. Governor, the fans of Fuseo's stolen valor, their response. Governor. Joining me now is Thomas Barron's retired command sergeant major for the Minnesota National Guard. Thomas, good to have you with us tonight. Now, J.D. Vance is saying this is a case of stolen valor. He obviously served in the Marine Corps in active duty. What is your take on this? Is this just, you know, a casual mistake? Is this something far darker? That's far way far darker than a lot of people think. I mean, it is stolen valor. He's used he's used the rank that he never achieved in order to advance his political career. He's done it for decades now, basically, maybe not decades, but damn close to it. I mean, he's he still says he's a retired command sergeant major to this day. And and he's not he he he uses his rank, uses rank of others to make it look like he's a better person than he is. He still does it even, you know, just however long ago. Well, to that point, so everyone understands what we're talking about here. On his biography, on his campaign website, and even on the Minnesota website, it lists him, Governor Walts, as a for as a retired command sergeant major. And his governor's bio says the same thing. It even says that that is the rank he retired at. I mean, that's just a fact you did or didn't. But again, the Minnesota National Guard told the angle he retired as a master sergeant. Now, for people who don't have any military background, they might think, oh, command sergeant major, master sergeant. Why is that such a big deal? Tell us why that's such a big deal. Well, it's a big deal for the simple fact that in order to you when you get conditionally promoted to command sergeant major or sergeant major, you're signing a document that states that you will complete the United States Army Sergeant Majors Academy, which is technically a two-year course, two-year college course almost. And if you don't complete that, you don't get the rank. So you basically get reduced, you know, it's conditional. You get pinned with E9, but then it gets taken away from you when you either quit or you end up having having, you know, don't complete the course. So what he did basically was he quit. He didn't complete that condition. He didn't complete the condition of doing two years after graduation. So he gets reduced to a master sergeant. That's what he is right now as a retired master sergeant. Well, I think the issue here is that in some of the statements that were published in some of the comments that were made, when you say you were deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, it indicates to people something. And the implication is you were deployed in, I guess, Iraq or Afghanistan. And that's what most people think. And maybe it's something that that's just wrong, but that's what a lot of people think. But how long did your unit spend in Iraq or and what was it like when you were there? Because, again, for people who believe that he was deployed in Iraq, people should understand what that was like. Well, going back on what you said, I mean, technically in the old days, Operation Enduring Freedom was Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom was Iraq. And he spun this, you know, where we were in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and and the people in the unit that he was at in Italy were supposedly going to get deployed to Afghanistan, Afghanistan. I mean, there's documents out there that that state some of those lies. And the 173rd Airborne was in Italy. That's their base home base. And they actually they actually air assault or they parachuted into Iraq at that time. So, I mean, his spin was a lie then. But back then, you know, some of the some of the party would basically say that they wanted to wanted to, you know, Afghanistan was like the real war and Iraq wasn't. So if you're in support of that enduring freedom, you know, you are in the you are in the war. You should be in an Iraqi freedom was was kind of Bush's war. But, you know, that's how that all unfolded. Well, when we ended up in Iraq, I mean, we we trained for six months and then we ended up, you know, going overseas, we're supposed to be in Iraq for a year. And then we got we we got extended and did the did the whole surge. And we were there for six more months or 17 months total. Yeah. 2006 was I was there in February of 2006, just for two weeks. And it was getting very real and extremely, extremely dangerous. I know so many men were lost and and and you were there. He he also made a comment about going to war, which, again, the implication being, well, what it was for most people. Listen, I spent 25 years in the army and I hunt and I gave the money back. And I'll tell you what I have been doing. I've been voting for common sense legislation that protects the Second Amendment. But we can do background checks. We can do CDC research. We can make sure we don't have reciprocal carry among states and we can make sure that those weapons of war that I carried in war is the only place where those weapons are. Now, Thomas, weapons of war that I carried in war. Right. Again, what does that mean to most people? I mean, in the in language matters to most people, that would mean that he was actually in combat carrying a weapon in a combat zone and getting combat pay and in a dangerous and hostile environment where he is getting shot at. I mean, if he if he thinks Italy was a combat zone or a war zone and he was carrying that in war, he's delusional. I mean, that was all said, just like him saying he was a command sergeant major, just another way to embellish his career beyond what it was stolen valor for the people that actually were in war. And he's acting like he was in war. Well, yeah, he carried an M16 back when we were in I don't know, maybe you never even had the thing out of the supply room in Italy. I I would really doubt if he ever did. I don't think I ever had my weapon out in England by my soldiers did. But I was out there making sure that they had food and making sure that they had a good place to sleep and make made sure to leave. I mean, that's what a first sergeant does in a in a in a deployment like that. I mean, you're in charge of leave and passes and be rostered and different things like that. I don't even took his damn rifle out in Italy. Thomas, you lost men, I believe, when you were deployed. Yes, we did. And how devastating of a loss was each life deployed without having to play around with the language here? Well, it is something that is with the person every single day to this day and will be with us with all of us in that unit until the day we die. Thomas, the campaign put out a statement saying that after 24 years of military service, Governor Walsh retired in 2005 and ran for Congress, where he chaired the veteran affairs and was a tireless advocate for our men and women in uniform. And as vice president of the U.S., he will continue to be a relentless champion for our veterans and military families. He has not addressed this charge of stolen valor. Do you think the men and women who deployed when he decided not to and did not embellish or casually kind of misstate or misrepresent his record, do they deserve a response to these charges? I would say from what I get from the soldiers that I went to Iraq with, you know, probably 98 percent of them are, you know, completely against him embellishing his record. You know, it was, you know, yeah, he was in for 24 years and he quit. Well, OK, so that's what you did. But don't try to make it look like you were a command sergeant major. Don't make it try to make it look like you were going to some place that was in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I mean, granted that, you know, there's that that's just all all embellishment and lies to try to make things look better. Well, Tom, there's a few out there that's still back. You know, yeah, he could retire yet 20 years in. I mean, that that he served. There's no doubt about it. He served. But there's no need to embellish your embellish your record or leave out key details. And Tom can serve 24 24 mediocre years and and be in a frumpy uniform and do your do your 24 years. But that's not turning you into a super soldier that that did what he thinks that makes it look like he did. Well, Tom, all I know is that every command sergeant major I've ever had the privilege of meeting. The coolest, highest ranking enlisted officer. Am I getting that right in the army? Am I getting that right? And they just get it done. You're humbling me by saying that, but you know, that is that is the point. And that's the point that he he knows that. And that's why he wants to use that that title as his as his campaign rank, because that people look like you said right there. People know that in the movies and everything. I mean, if you're the CSM, you're the guy that get the hell off the grass and, you know, and you're you're a right hand man with the Colonel doing his thing. I mean, it's really unbelievable. You can do so much for your soldiers and and so much for your country at that rank. It's unbelievable. And for somebody to step down a position and claim they still were that, that's just absolutely terrible. That's appalling. The 2020 post-Floyd shooting "Summer of Love" was more like "Summer of Lawlessness" under his watch, so all they can do is lean in to his personal biography. -He is someone who, long before he entered politics, worked as a teacher. After school, Tim was the linebackers' coach for the football team. They defied the odds -- hear this out -- going from a winless record to the school's first-ever state championship. -Well, that's nice if we're interviewing to fill the job of, let's say, assistant principal somewhere, but we're choosing a vice president, the second-most powerful job in the United States, maybe even on the planet. So we need real answers demanded by real reporters of real substance. But, I mean, we got to be fair here. In their analysis of Tim Walz, this does qualify as substantive to them. -See, that's sort of a joyful presence of folks he charmed to. -The Harris-Wolz sounds like a dance to me. It sounds like a happy dance. -This is, like, comfortable, normal, and joyful. That is a powerful thing in campaigns. -Are they describing a new daytime syndicated show? It sounds like it. Live with Kamala and Tim starting this fall. Check your local listings. But it's all just pixie dust, creating a fantasy distraction from the ugly truth about the wasteland that their regulate, borrow, and spend policies have created for Americans. -Everything's going up high, still going up high. An inspiring coach celebrates success, at least the coaches I always had. He doesn't ridicule it. But that is exactly what Tim Wallace did yesterday in knocking J.D. Vance, whose life literally is the epitome of the American dream. -His running mate shares his dangerous and backward agenda for this country. Like all regular people I grew up with in the heartland, J.D. studied at Yale, had his career funded by Silicon Valley billionaires, and then wrote a bestseller trashing that community. Come on! That's not what middle America is. -Now, did Governor Nice Guy write that part of his speech? Did he even read it ahead of time? He obviously must have approved it, right? Snide, nasty, and just to use their word, weird. Or are the Democrats now against poor kids from troubled homes working hard and getting into a top school? Or working in the business world? Is that now racist, too? He wasn't trashing his community in hillbilly elegy. He was telling his life story. Ever heard of it? It's called a memoir. Try reading it, Tim, of the tiny brain. Sure, Tim Walz was a popular teacher, but listen to him for five minutes on YouTube, and you realize why so many high schoolers don't know much about the Constitution. They learn from people like Walz. -There's no guarantee to free speech on misinformation or hate speech, and especially around our democracy. -Yeah, because the First Amendment's all about just protecting speech that you agree with. Imagine his social studies lectures about totalitarian regimes. For Walz, states are despotic, other states in the country, when they pass laws that reflect the values of their own people by protecting kids from gender surgeries. -We're seeing totalitarianism at rise of telling them that they don't have a place to speak. In Minnesota, every single child is valued. -Notice Orwellian use of language. You value a child when you allow him or her to be subjected to life-altering medical treatment before the age that they can even order a beer at a ballpark. But never forget, some of the most hateful people, hateful toward Christianity, traditional family teachings, will always, and I mean always, pose as the good guys. -This is an open state that is welcome for people. This is a state that values science, values people's own personal opinions to make their own choices. That hatred, that bigotry stops at our borders. -Finally, a border they care about. -If you can judge a man's integrity by his friends, well, listen closely to Tim's activist friends. -Governor Walz has been supportive of the LGBTQ community since he was a high school teacher. When we elected 11 new LGBTQ members to the House two years ago and created the Queer Caucus, and I started pushing the importance of the trans-refuge bill that I carry. He was always right there. Always right there. These people are wild-eyed, hateful, vindictive radicals who believe it's justice for a child to be taken from parents who deny them gender mutilation or sterilizing hormone therapy. Again, that's nice to them. But this is what the nice guy governor does to families in Minnesota. He pulls children away from parents who do not comply. That's okay under Minnesota law. The high-paid consultants hired by the Harris campaign to sell Walz's normal and nice have a problem on their hands. Most Americans don't think the riots of 2020 were normal. They don't think they were nice. They don't think green-lighting double mastectomies for confused teen girls is normal or nice, and they won't think that someone who lies about going to war is normal or nice. It's warped, and it's devious. Forget tampon Tim. I kind of prefer twisted Tim, and that's the angle.
