Here in Detroit, welcome to Detroit. We want to talk about why we're here in a moment. Today, though, CNN announced it had finalized the rules for your first presidential debate now less than two weeks away with both your campaign and the Biden campaign. Look, we know you go into this debate with a whole host of things to go after President Biden on, whether it's illegal immigration, you talk about an economy that's not working for many Americans, and the wars in Ukraine and Israel, which you say would not have happened under your leadership. I know you're ready for this. President Biden will go after you on the topics of January 6 and your criminal conviction in New York. How do you plan on responding to those attacks? Well, first of all, this conviction was a Democrat hoax started by him as election interference and really attacking a political opponent, never been seen before in this country. It's done by third world countries, by banana republics, never been done by this country. And it's a disgrace. And he's a disgrace. And with his record and his family's record, he's a disgrace to have done it. And the gloves have come off because of it. And frankly, it allows you to speak more freely. Look, he's the worst president in the history of our country. He makes Jimmy Carter look brilliant, frankly, the Carter administration. And he is just a disaster. Now we have Russian ships and submarines right off the coast of Miami and Cuba just a few minutes away. But just a disaster, what what this man has done to our country with allowing millions and millions of people to pour in unvetted, unchecked, and they come from jails and they come from mental institutions all over the world. They're emptying out their criminals. They're emptying out their people with mental problems into our country. And he's allowing it to happen by the millions. And I tell you, he is just a disastrous president. And if we don't get him out, we've got ourselves a real I mean, we already have a mess. Believe me, I'll get itself. But it's just getting worse by the day when you look at what's happening to our country. Think of it. Russian ships circling Cuba. It's unbelievable. Mr. President, we're here in Detroit today. Hundreds of people coming out here in the highest black population city in the country to see you. What kind of economic policies will you enact as president that will help communities like this one, which are still trying to rebound after decades of decay? How will you help black and Latino voters this election? We've already done it with the most successful program. Probably there has been for black and and Latino, but in particular, in this case, black, the Opportunity Zones. And they have been incredible. Did that with Tim Scott, Senator from South Carolina. And it's been a tremendous almost a miracle. It's been one of the most probably the most successful program of its kind ever tried. We're very honored by it. But we had the best economy. Blacks were working at levels never seen before. Now their wages are way down. And what's happening is the illegals coming in, they're taking their jobs. The black population and Hispanic population is more affected by the Latinos coming into our country than anybody. And I'll add somebody else or some other group unions. Unions are being hurt terribly. When you have 15, 16 million people coming into the country, the unions are being decimated. And they don't like talking about it. But that's what's happening. They're being decimated by the Biden policies, but also by millions of people pouring into the country. You've received more black support than any president chill candidate in modern history. You mentioned one name Tim Scott, one of several names that you've mentioned or have been mentioned for vice president. I know you said that you won't announce that pick until the convention next month. But when it comes to choosing a vice president, sir, how important is executive experience, whether it's in business like yourself or in government? Well, I think it's very important. It's something that comes natural to some and it comes very unnaturally to others. But executive experience is important. But president is sort of covers all aspects. It's politics. It's executive. It's executive and knowing what to do and knowing the feel of a nation and the touch and all these different qualities. You need everything. And Tim is a very good man and we have a lot of good people that we're looking at and we'll be announcing probably during the convention. But the most important thing and I've said this quite a bit and I guess a lot of people would say it is if something should happen, something bad, I guess, would it would have to be. But if something should happen, we have to have somebody that can step right in and do a great job as president. That's the most. Secondly, if they can help get you elected, that's good. But typically that never happens. It's up to the president or the one running for president. If you look back in history, you'll see virtually no vice president that made that much of a difference in terms of the election. The most important thing you can do is get somebody that will be a great president just in case it should be needed. You mentioned unity, huge theme for you this week. There was a fist bump, I believe, with Senator McConnell down in Washington. You also supported Larry Hogan for his Senate campaign in Maryland. This is a man who hasn't supported you in the past. You're supporting him, however. What is it about getting Larry Hogan elected and how do you feel about him not giving you the same endorsement? Well, I don't know. I heard it was somebody from his staff and it wasn't him that did that or said the negative thing. And, you know, he's obviously of a little bit different persuasion than me. But I think having Larry Hogan as opposed to a Democrat would be a good thing. And we'll see where it goes. And let's see what he says. I have not heard from him. I've heard from somebody in his staff, maybe that staff person, you know, somebody in my staff said something very bad about Larry. And I thought maybe we should try and get along. But we'll see what Larry has to say. I have not spoken to him at all. And if he has a good chance of winning, that's very important. We're clearing up misconceptions today. One, I do want to give you a chance to talk about Milwaukee, a lot of rumors this week, half-truths. What did he say? What didn't he say? When it comes to Milwaukee, home to the GOP convention next month, what are your thoughts in the all-important swing state? Well, I put out a truth just now because I heard the Democrats lie. That's all they can do. Bad policies, open borders, bad military, the whole thing, everything they do is bad. All electric cars, they want to have everyone driving an electric car, all made in China. Don't go far enough, as you know, they don't go far. And they cost a lot of money. The whole thing is ridiculous. Now they're talking about your washing machines. They want to give them no water, dishwashing machines. Every day they have something new. They have no policy, but all they do is lie. They make up stories. That's a totally made up story. I picked Milwaukee. I had a lot of choices, a lot of places wanted it, obviously, with the money that it brings and the economics and the economic development, even, that it brings. I had a lot of choices. I picked Milwaukee. Never said anything bad about Milwaukee, other than something I say about a lot of cities, especially Democrat-run cities, is that we want to keep the vote honest. And I hope that Milwaukee is going to keep the vote honest. And if they do, I'm going to really love it. But I was the one that picked Milwaukee, and it's just another lie. They lied about soldiers, they lied about just about everything, because when you have a candidate like Biden that doesn't know he's around, that doesn't know, is he still living? I mean, I saw the mess in Europe, that mess. I've never seen anything like it where he doesn't even know where the hell he is. They have to lie because, frankly, if they don't, they have no chance of getting elected. And it's a shame, frankly, when I hear a story like that, Milwaukee bothered me because when you're the one that picked it, and we have great spirit going into Milwaukee, and the people of Wisconsin, as you know, were leading in the polls. So what do they do? They lie, and they make up a story that I said something bad about Milwaukee. And I just ask you this, who would do that? Who would say something bad about a place that you want to win? You want to win over? The only thing I say is I want to keep this election nice and honest. And if we do that, I'm going to be very happy. But I love Milwaukee, and that's why I picked it. All right, Mr. President, you get a roundtable to get to. Good luck today. Welcome back to America. We're here with Ben Dominich, really is one of the sharpest people out there as far as I'm concerned. And Ben, I want to ask you this. President Trump is on Capitol Hill. He's uniting the Republican Party behind him. I mean, there are still some miscreants out there, you know, who are, I'm never going to support them, but I think they're in a very, very small fraction of a minority. And it looked like he did a very good job of it on Capitol Hill here. This is something the Democrat Party fears the most, isn't it? They want a divided Republican Party because they feel that's one of the key ways to win. Is that what they're going to get, a divided Republican Party, or do you think Republicans are going to come home and back Trump? I think that the coming home has already started, and I think that it's very well apparent. You know, you don't see the kind of level of holdouts that you had in the past. I think a large part of that is that Donald Trump has done some work in terms of making peace internally within the Republican Party. But Mark, you know, I think it's really interesting to look around the world as a whole right now and see what's happening, not just here in America, but in Europe as well, where you see these parties of the more populist bent rising up and really fighting some success in the polling data that we see coming out of France, out of the UK, obviously out of Germany. And then the fact that the most popular politician at the G7 was Georgia Maloney, the head of the Italian state. And that's something that really, I think, is due in part to the failure of this old technocratic order to give people the kind of results that they wanted, to give them the kind of change in policy that they wanted. Donald Trump was obviously the biggest, largest figure looming over that, and he's now changed the Republican Party, I think, for good. But this is a particular moment where you're going to have new leadership, I think, rise up within the party, the party that he's made. Whether he wins or not in November, and I personally think he is going to win and probably win pretty easily, I think this is a situation where we're about to see how the party adapts to being a party that has different priorities than it did before Donald Trump came along. So the entrenched bureaucracy in this country, two and a half million strong, the vast majority of which is in the camp of the Democrat Party, and the entrenched media in Washington and New York, which kind of controls much of the media that goes on out there. And then, of course, the Democrat Party. Reagan used to call this the Iron Triangle. This Iron Triangle is not going to give up very easily. It never does. It's going to fight to the last man and woman, isn't it? It really is. And that's why I think you see the kind of desperation in the way that they're currently talking. And keep in mind, it's still a long way till November. But I think you see that desperation, you hear it. All you have to do is turn on Joe and Mika and you hear it. It's a desperation at recognizing that they no longer have the power that they once did. They no longer wield the power over the American message that they once did. And that's because they've been proven wrong so many times. People no longer trust them and they trust their own eyes and ears. They trust that when they look at Joe Biden, they're not seeing someone who's sharp as attack behind the scenes. They're seeing someone who wanders all over the place, is regularly incoherent, really doesn't seem like a guy who should be running the country at this stage in his life. And they understand that when they're voting in November, if you vote for Joe Biden, you're voting for not if, but when Kamala Harris becomes president.

welcome back America it's great to have our friend Senator Tom Cotton with us you know Senator Cotton your background is quite unique as far as politicians go you come out of a little state of Arkansas you served as a combat officer in Iraq and Afghanistan and you went to Harvard Law School and that's a very unique I think a very important background and you're what I would consider if not the number one one of the top foreign policy experts in the United States Senate if not the country and so I wanted to ask you some what I think are very very important questions about some very very important issues which are getting sloughed off by most of the media we have a wide open border people been warning about terrorists coming here and committing acts of terrorism senator and now we have a report that eight Isis operatives were captured in the United States that the FBI had done a surveillance operation on them eight of them in three cities LA Philadelphia and New York and this is great that they caught them but we have over 12 million people who've come into this country that we haven't properly vetted all over the country is the concern is this is potentially the tip of the iceberg and we're not going to always catch them mark there's no question that these eight potential terrorists are just the tip of the iceberg as you say more than 12 million illegal aliens have entered our country in less than four years under Joe Biden the FBI has been warning for months now about the threat of terrorism coming from our open border many of these potential terrorists are coming from Central Asia countries like Tajikistan or Uzbekistan that have deep terrorist groups and movements in them that their governments are battling against this is the origin of the terrorist attacks in Moscow a few weeks ago as well I'm glad that they caught these eight potential terrorists but again as you say it's just the tip of the iceberg we know that many more have crossed our border we know that many across the border without knowledge of the FBI or the border patrol and then perhaps most crazy of all as we've admitted all these illegal aliens over the last three plus years and many of them are now applying for asylum inside the country a protected legal status the Biden administration is still not doing thorough betting on them so we haven't only admitted them but we may give them protected legal status under our asylum laws without even checking if they have terrorist connections in their past or if they've been engaging in terrorist activities while they're in the United States it is a grave danger to the lives of Americans not over not overseas but here at home and you know senator we have these incidents that are popping up where illegal aliens are breaching military installations or they're they're monitoring them or one tried to drive into Quantico with a vehicle and so forth and so on this is going on all over the country here we have MS-13 has a strong foothold in this country now the most brutal murderous Venezuelan gang is now in the United States they have a foothold in the country the drug cartels are making billions of dollars inside the United States forced labor sex slavery fentanyl if you wanted to destroy the United States of American you're president the United States let's say wouldn't you do all the things that Joe Biden is doing to the country right now yeah Mark as president Trump always likes to say if you don't have a border you don't have a country because if you don't have a border if you open our border like Joe Biden did like he promised to do in the campaign and then acted on in office you invite all of this evil into our country cartels sex trafficking and human trafficking into the country anything about it was dropped in your laps the house never supported it but he likes to call it bipartisan legislation that would have fixed this thing I read that legislation didn't fix a damn thing in fact the extra funding most of which went for administrative activities didn't even kick in until 2028 and they had a threshold number that was multiple thousands higher than it what is tolerable in terms of illegal immigration so he keeps using this this is the fig leaf he's going to use and if in fact we are attacked I can see he's gonna blame Republicans he's gonna blame president Trump how do you respond to that yeah Mark it's playing that Joe Biden didn't need legislation to act to secure our border because president Trump didn't need legislation to secure our border we had a secure safe border under president Trump Joe Biden is the one that promised in the campaign to open our border and what did he think would happen millions of people all around the world heard those promises they came to Mexico oftentimes conspiring with drug cartels to get across the border into our country not just to get jobs or unite with families but to bring in drugs and crime then Joe Biden had an executive order in which he purported to shut down the border but as you say he still allowed 75,000 illegal aliens to enter our country every month under that order with all kinds of loopholes as well I would say it's like closing the barn door after the horses left but it doesn't even close the barn door mark

Welcome back America. Senator Tom Cotton, combat veteran, you sit on the Senate Armed Services Committee. A couple of questions here. China is on the move. China's Navy is bigger than our Navy. The terrorists in the Middle East are on the move, partly because Joe Biden is funding them with our tax dollars or he has set in place policies undoing President Trump's restrictions on Iran where billions are flowing into that regime. That is Iran, which is funding all these terrorists while he has a foot on Israel's throat. When it comes to Ukraine and Russia, he keeps blaming the Republicans for not funding enough and fast enough, but the fact is Joe Biden has not allowed Ukraine to actually win the war and hasn't allowed them to purchase the kind of weapons that they need. But more fundamentally, you're on the Armed Services Committee. When are we going to fully fund the United States military so we're not falling behind all these other regimes that are coalescing, coming together like an access and focused on threatening the United States of America. Russia has ships and a nuclear sub right off the Florida coast. China is in our hemisphere. We no longer even believe in the Monroe Doctrine. They claim to control the South China Sea, the East China Sea, the Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan are very very nervous about what's taking place and I don't I don't get the impression that our commander in chief so-called is really focused very much or doing a hell of a lot about it. Mark, I can tell you exactly when we're going to fully fund our military when we elect Donald Trump and a Republican majority to the Congress. We rebuilt our military with President Trump and Republicans during the Trump presidency, but Joe Biden has already cut it to the bone. Every single year he submitted budgets that have real cuts after his huge inflation to our military. It's what Democrats always do. It's like ducks or geese migrating for winter. Carter, Clinton, Obama and now Biden. They always cut the military. It comes up to Republicans to fund our military. It's particularly bad for Joe Biden because he is so weak he's helped unleash this chaos around the world. Mark, like President Reagan, President Trump and you and I believe in peace through strength. What we've got with Joe Biden is war through weakness. You notice that Vladimir Putin didn't invade Ukraine when Donald Trump was president. He only does that when Democrats are president. Iran didn't unleash terrorist proxies like Hamas to commit the worst atrocity against Jews since World War II when President Trump was president. He only does that when Joe Biden's in office. So not only do we have to fully fund our military, we also need a president who is strong and confident in the defense of America in the world. Only then will our adversaries be put on the back foot and our friends and partners around the world be willing to cooperate fully with us to protect America's interests. Senator Tom Cotton, personal question. I ask you this on radio. You're not Jewish obviously. Come from a state that has about seven Jews and I'm just kidding. And yet you have an affinity towards the state of Israel. You believe in supporting the state of Israel in ways that Schumer and Bernie Sanders and Antony Blinken do not who happen to be Jewish. Where does this come from? I'm just curious. Well, Mark, we take our allies where we find them in the world. Not every country who is an ally or partner shares our way of life, our political system, our cultural or religious history. And that's okay. We have to use and work with allies as we find them in a dangerous world. But Israel is our closest ally in the world because of those shared bonds of affection and not just shared interests. Like us, Israel is a constitutional democracy that respects the dignity and freedom of its own people. We have a shared cultural and religious history. And we have overlapping strategic interests as well. Whenever we back Israel to the hilt, as we did when President Trump was in office, it's not just good for Israel, it's good for America. We see peace and stability throughout a vital region for our own economic and security interests. Whenever, as with President Biden now and President Obama, we show quote-unquote daylight or we try to put more pressure on Israel than we put on Iran or even terrorists like Hamas and Hezbollah, we get war, we get chaos, and it threatens the interest of the American people. So not only do we share interests with Israel and supporting Israel and backing them to the hilt, we have deep bonds of affinity and affection between our two peoples. Very quickly, Senator, the House, the equivalent committee to yours under Chairman McCall, the House committee, has said that they want to give an increase, a real increase, to our men and women in uniform, which they haven't had of late. Biden has sent word that he will veto it. Now Biden's giving benefits to illegal aliens. They're getting all kinds of credit cards and phones and hotel rooms. He's flying illegal aliens into the country. He's talking about bringing people in from the Gaza Strip, from every corner of the earth, and they get all kinds of health care benefits and public education. What the hell kind of administration is this that takes our tax dollars to subsidize people who are here illegally, foreigners, but when it comes to the United States military, the men and women who volunteer to put their lives on the line, it's too expensive that they can't give them a real salary increase. What do you make of that? Yeah, Mark, it's an administration led by a man, Joe Biden, who consistently puts America last. President Trump puts America first. We shouldn't be inviting illegal aliens into our country in the first place, much less giving them all these benefits. We should be increasing pay for our troops who are defending us and making sure that we're spending the money necessary to give them the weapons and the tools they need to fight, win, and survive if they're pressed into battle to defend our nation. I'll tell you, sometimes I feel like this is Alice in Wonderland, but I don't want to put down Alice. All right, my friend, Senator, thank you very, very much.
