Everybody in Arkansas, Tom Cotton, a friend of mine, is holding up a very important Bill. It’s called, “The Sunshine Protection Act” or, “We Don’t Want to Change Our Clocks Twice a Year Act.” For some reason, Tom is stopping the Bill and, in the Senate, it’s very easy to do, it only takes one! It should pass overwhelmingly, in a Bipartisan fashion. So, everyone in Arkansas, a State I love, and won 3 times, the last by by 34 points, tell Tom to, GET IT DONE! It will be appreciated by all. Nobody wants to spend their precious time running all over the place, turning Clocks back twice a year and, having sunshine in the afternoon is better than early in the morning! The PGA TOUR, as an example, needs more Daylight in the afternoon in order to finish their Tournaments. Likewise, regular Golfers, Tennis Players, Hunters and, perhaps most importantly, Farmers who want more Daylight to play or work. See letter from Brian Rolapp, CEO of the PGA TOUR below. 65% PLUS want more sun in the afternoon, Daylight Saving Time (The way it is now!), but 100% don’t want to change their Clocks twice a year. They want to, as they say, “LOCK THE CLOCK!” Who doesn’t? It’s very expensive for our Nation where you have high and dangerous steeples to reach, like on churches and municipal buildings. Almost everybody wants “The Sunshine Protection Act” to pass, except for Tom Cotton. To the Great People of Arkansas, please let your Senator know it would be a GREAT Bipartisan WIN for the United States Senate, and for America, itself. Call Tom on his cellphone at, 479-453-0533, and let him know. “The Sunshine Protection Act” was passed in the House by a Vote of 308 to 117. HAVE THE SENATE VOTE, NOW! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

What the image shows screenshot

A screenshot of a social media post (X/Twitter) from a user named "Matt Van Swol" (@mattvanswol), with a blue verified checkmark, posted 1:08 PM, Jul 14, 2026, with 562.3K views. The post is a lengthy text-only message criticizing the Republican Party (GOP) for failing to deliver on promised reforms following Trump's election, listing grievances such as lack of accountability, mass deportations, deficit reduction, DOGE cuts, and passage of the SAVE Act, and warning of a midterm backlash.

Text in image: Matt Van Swol ✓ @mattvanswol I don't think the GOP fully grasp how badly they are fucking up right now. I'm talking to people who normally have ZERO interest in politics who are legitimately pissed off. They are not seeing the major reform they thought would happen and are REALLY MAD about it. No true accountability. No true mass deportations. No meaningful decrease in the deficit. Lots of very long vacations and no work. No bills being passed that REDUCE the government involvement in their lives. I'm very worried the GOP is sleepwalking toward a midterm reckoning they don't see coming. People are pissed off that they voted Trump into office and then the GOP continues to slow-walk every reform people want. Where are all the DOGE cuts that were promised? Where is the SAVE ACT? Why haven't we defunded the Taliban yet? Why are bills passing the House and then disappear in the Senate? Why are the GOP still funding Left-wing NGOs that target and hate MAGA Republicans? Why are members of the GOP pushing for mass amnesty instead of mass deportations? People are waking up and they aren't happy about it. People believed they were voting for the Trump agenda. and instead, many feel like they're getting the same old Washington. If Republicans in Congress don't start producing tangible results, they're going to discover that frustration has consequences... ...And by the time they realize how deep-seeded that frustration is, it may already be too late. 1:08 PM · Jul 14, 2026 · 562.3K Views

What the image shows chart

A political meme/chart image with a bold headline "Where is John Thune?" at top. Below is a bar chart titled "Recess Appointments" comparing four presidents' number of recess appointments, each with a headshot photo: President Reagan with a bar showing 240, President Bush 1 (George H.W. Bush) with a bar showing 77, President Bush 2 (George W. Bush) with a bar showing 171, and President Trump with a red "0" and no visible bar. The chart implies criticism of Senate Majority Leader John Thune for Trump having made zero recess appointments, unlike prior Republican presidents.

to do to get this bill passed. Well, first of all, I just want to thank the president for his leadership on this. It's such an important piece of legislation to guarantee, as you've already said, that only American citizens vote in American elections and that you have voter ID. This is common sense. Nobody in America really outwardly opposes this. 80% of Americans support it. Democrats, a majority of Democrats support it. People of all walks of life, whether you're male, female, whether you're black, white, Hispanic, you support this piece of legislation. Only the United States Senate is presenting a barrier to getting this common sense bill passed. And so to answer your question, I think first, the House, we need to continue to pass it. Speaker Johnson and I had a conversation this week, and I believe we're working to include the Save Act, the Save America Act on the National Defense Authorization Act so we can send another vehicle to the Senate to see if they'll break loose and pass it. We've passed it, as you know, three times. We're looking for the Senate to do their job. But at the end of the day, it's up to willpower. The Senate has the ability to do it. And for Senate Republicans, you keep saying they don't have the votes. That's simply false. They've already had a test vote and they had 50 votes for it. And with J.D. Vance, that's 51. It's a matter of having the willpower to structure the Senate to have whether it's a talking filibuster or any other mechanism they want to carry forward to force the bill to the floor at a majority vote. They can choose to do it. They're just simply not.

Post from Truth Social

I have eight GREAT U.S. Attorneys, Highly Respected ALL, who will not be confirmed for their positions in various Highly Consequential States only because they're Republicans, and the Democrats have convinced Chuck Grassley to honor the stupid and outdated "Blue Slip" tradition, which precludes very talented and dedicated people from attaining High Office. The Democrats violate this practice in order to get people in, but Republicans just don't. These GREAT people's careers have been badly hurt by the Radical Left Democrats, using an old and ridiculous custom strictly to their advantage. What a shame!

Chuck Grassley, who I got re-elected to the U.S. Senate when he was down, by a lot, in the Great State of Iowa, could solve the "Blue Slip" problem we are having with respect to the appointment of Highly Qualified Judges and U.S. Attorneys, with a mere flick of the pen. Democrats like Schumer, Warner, Kaine, Booker, Schiff, and others, SLEAZEBAGS ALL, have an ironclad stoppage of Great Republican Candidates. Put simply, the President of the United States will never be permitted to appoint the person of his choice because of an ancient, and probably Unconstitutional, "CUSTOM," that if you have, even one person in the opposite Party serving in the U.S. Senate, he/she must give consent, thereby completely stopping the opposite Party's Nomination. The only way to beat this Hoax is to appoint a Democrat or, a weak and ineffective Republican. Therefore, I would never be able to appoint Great Judges or U.S. Attorneys in California, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Virginia, and other places, where there is, coincidentally, the highest level of crime and corruption — The places where fantastic people are most needed! Senator Grassley must step up, like Crooked Joe Biden did, when he openly broke, at least two times, the "Blue Slip" SCAM, and like others have done over the years, and let our Great Republican Judges and U.S. Attorneys BE CONFIRMED. He should do this, IMMEDIATELY, and not let the Democrats laugh at him and the Republican Party for being weak and ineffective. The Democrats have broken this ridiculous custom on us, it's time that we break it on them. Chuck, I know you have the Courage to do this, DO IT!
